“Is... is Garcelle like this too?”
“Oui, she is like you. Come with me, chéri.”
He swam to the boat and grabbed the ladder. Margo flapped her tail and followed him. Her movements were a little less awkward. Before climbing the ladder, Bishop snaked his arm around her waist and held her still.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes. I am now. That was the most painful thing I have ever felt in my life.”
“I’ve heard. I’m sorry,” he said with a frown. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
Margo smiled. “I’m sure.”
Bishop cupped her jaw and kissed her. His tongue brushed the seam of her lips, making her want more than a kiss. Margo pulled away and looked up at him.
“I love you too,” she admitted.
Bishop smiled.
“That makes me very happy,” he said with a kiss to her forehead.
“Now, go play.”
“Let’s go!” Sabine shouted.
Margo grinned and ducked under the water. She slapped the surface with her tail and took off behind her teacher.
