The Spellcast Gate (Accessory to Magic Book 5) Page 34

by Kathrin Hutson

Mine seems to have been constant, and the way for me to keep it out of my life now is to seal it up in its own Mahayál—the one I’ve created and will continue to create from stories like Jessica’s.

I think it’s amazing how all the chaos and all the unknown for one character can still reflect so powerfully in an author’s actual, daily process of crafting it. Needless to say, this entire series was an incredible whirlwind for me as well. Hopefully it was for you. Hopefully, it left you with a few thoughts, a few hopes, and maybe even the question I’m still asking myself—Is there more?

When I figure it out, I’ll let you know.

Until then, I’m turning to other dark worlds with just as much epic battles and fiery explosions. No more dark, sexy, treacherous fae trying to be something they aren’t, though. At least for now.

But I’ll leave you with a fun discovery about the Laen’aroth, and you can take it further on your own or leave it here.

I started writing Leandras in The Witching Vault in March of 2020. This past February in 2021, I started watching the Netflix series Lucifer. And maybe I love it so much because someone managed to capture one of my favorite characters as a fae and turn him into “the actual devil.”

If you’ve seen the show or are even considering watching it, you’ll know what I mean.

It’s sparked a few new ideas already (one of my favorite shows to date), so I might just be on to something here. Watching it come to life on the pages without knowing exactly what’s going to happen—just like Jessica showed me—is the most fun part of all.

Thank you so much for joining me in the darkness. And the light. And the mix halfway between.
