by Watermelonian, 西瓜星人

Close to eleven o’clock, he received a call from Qin Xiangyi.

“I miss you, Lil Tang. Can you come back tomorrow?”

“Mm!” Tang Hao replied. He had stayed in Provincial City for quite a while now. It was time to go back.

They chatted for the next half an hour.

“Are you sleepy?” Tang Hao asked.

“No! Ever since I took that pill that you gave me, I hardly ever feel tired or sleepy. I would have barely been able to open my eyes by now.

“However, I still feel very energetic. I think I can still talk for a few more hours,” Qin Xiangyi said.

‘That’s right. She took the Mortality Shedding Pill. Her body is about the same as a cultivator now,’ he thought.

“You should still sleep early though! I’ll depart for Westridge at noon. I should be there in the afternoon.”

“Mm! I’m off to sleep. Good night!”

  “Good night!”

Tang Hao scratched his head after putting the phone away. He was feeling immensely guilty.

‘Sis Xiangyi might have said that she allows me to make mistakes, but I’m betraying her trust. I have to make it up for her.’

He thought for a while and decided that he would go shopping for presents.

The next morning, he gave a call to Assistant Han to let her know that they would be returning to Westridge.

After that, he went to the city center and bought every new fashion item, accessory, handbag, and shoe that he fancied.

He did not know how much he spent. His bank account could pay for everything anyway.

After picking up Assistant Han, it was about five o’clock when they arrived at Westridge.

He sent Assistant Han back to her house, then went to the clothing factory.

He met Qin Xiangyi in her office.

She was still in the middle of work, looking at several design sketches.

Tang Hao was surprised by her diligent and serious expression.

  “You’re here, Lil Tang!”

She heard a slight noise and lifted her head. She beamed.

“It’s already half-past five. You’re still working?” Tang Hao said.

“I’m still vetting a few designs. I’ll be quick!” Qin Xiangyi placed the documents in her hand on the table and stretched her limbs.

Her fair and slender waist was revealed.

Tang Hao’s eyes were drawn to that body part, and he could not look away.

She blushed when she noticed that Tang Hao was staring at her. “Where are you looking? It’s not like you’ve never seen it before.”

“I haven’t seen it in a while!” Tang Hao blurted.

She shot a glare at him, and her eyes were sparkling mischievously. She reached out and beckoned at Tang Hao. “Get over here, silly!”

Tang Hao’s urges were piqued, and he walked over.

  “Right here?” Tang Hao asked.

  “Do you want to?”

“This is too risky! There are still people outside!”

“They won’t come in anyway. It’s more exciting when it’s risky!”

  “At least draw the curtains?”

  “Nah, no one will see!”

Qin Xiangyi stood up and hooked her slender arms around Tang Hao’s neck. She delivered a lingering kiss that put both of them in the mood.

Their movements became more and more intense, and they fell on the couch.

While they were halfway through it, they suddenly heard footsteps outside. Someone knocked on the door, which made the couple jump in shock. They quickly got dressed.

“Who is it?” Qin Xiangyi shouted after she composed her emotions and calmed her breathing.

  “You haven’t left yet, Boss?”

  It was a female voice.

“No, I’ll be going soon. You can leave first!” Qin Xiangyi shouted.

“Oh, I’ll be going off then!”

The person spoke and walked away.

“Phew! That was too exciting!” Qin Xiangyi said as she patted her chest.

She went to the door, opened it, looked around to ensure that there was no one, closed the door, and locked it.

She turned around and looked at Tang Hao, wearing an alluring smile on her face.

  The sun continued to set.

Occasional moaning could be heard from within the office.

  The turbulence eventually ceased.

The couple lay next to each other on the couch.

Qin Xiangyi’s eyes were slightly closed. She lazily nestled face on Tang Hao’s arm.

“Stay for a little longer this time, Lil Tang. I want you to be by my side!” She said coyly as she looked intently at Tang Hao.

  “Mm!” Tang Hao replied.

He looked at the beautiful face inches away from him. He could not resist but to kiss her again, then swiftly returned to his original position.

“Ah, you’re so cunning! You stole a kiss!”

Qin Xiangyi sat up and pretended to be angry. “No, give me my kiss back!” She leaned down and planted a lingering kiss on Tang Hao’s cheek.

She chuckled and was about to turn away.

Tang Hao hooked his arm over her body and brought her close, then delivered a swift kiss on her lips.

“Naughty you!” She feigned anger and returned another kiss.

The exchange of kisses did not seem to stop. The kisses became more intense.

She picked different spots on Tang Hao’s face to kiss. His face was full of faint lipstick marks.

“Ah, my lipstick has faded. Hold on!” She got up, found a lipstick, applied it to her lips, then continued kissing.

“I want to leave marks all over your body!” She announced rather smugly.

Tang Hao grunted and hooked her waist. He flipped around and pinned her below him. The four eyes met, and their urges were ignited once more.

“We’re still doing it? It’s almost seven o’clock…” Qin Xiangyi said.

Her mouth was plugged before she could finish her sentence.

The office was heated up by a fresh round of intimacy.

Everyone was tranquil once again after a long time.

“I’ve brought you many presents this time!” Tang Hao whispered into her ear as he hugged her.

“Many presents?” Qin Xiangyi was surprised.

“Yes. Here’s the first one!” Tang Hao sat up and reached behind him. He retrieved a flat rectangular box.

“What’s that?” Qin Xiangyi asked curiously.

  “Open it and see!”

Qin Xiangyi took the box and gently opened the lid.

Her beautiful eyes reflected the dazzling light from within the box.

A diamond necklace rested inside. Each of the diamonds was big, sparkling, and classically-carved. Its beauty was breath-taking.

“Wow, this is so pretty!” She exclaimed.

“These are all real diamonds, right? How much does this thing cost?”

“A few ten million, I guess?” Tang Hao said.

He had obtained the necklace from the warlock’s vault at Black Mountain. He wanted to sell all the jewelry, but the necklace was too beautiful, and he could not bear to part with it.

“It should cost more! It looks like an antique.”

“Don’t mind that. Here, let me wear it for you!”

  “Mm!” She nodded shyly.

Tang Hao gently wore the necklace on Qin Xiangyi’s neck.

Her face and skin were delicate, which contrasted very well with the brilliantly-sparkling necklace. Tang Hao was dumbstruck by her beauty.

“How does it look?” She asked bashfully.

“You look beautiful!” Tang Hao nodded.

She lowered her head to see, and she could not hide the delight on her face.

“Thank you, dear!” She leaned close and pecked Tang Hao on the cheek.

  “Anything else?”

“There’s clothes, shoes, and other stuff,” Tang Hao brought out each item while he
spoke.

“So many?” Qin Xiangyi was shocked.

“It’s not a lot. You can wear a different outfit every day!”

Qin Xiangyi chuckled. She turned her head to look at Tang Hao with sparkling eyes. “You must’ve done something naughty, Lil Tang.”

Tang Hao scratched his head guiltily.

Qin Xiangyi could see through him.

“Aha! You’ve been a naughty boy!” She glared at Tang Hao and said angrily.

She stretched out her hand and pinched Tang Hao’s arm, but she did not pinch it hard.

“Never mind, I can’t bear to pinch you!”

  She put her hand away.

After throwing a pretend tantrum, she continued, “Never mind, I don’t blame you. I’ve told you that you can make mistakes. My Lil Tang is so amazing, many women must like him.

“However, I’ve told you that this part belongs to me.” She lifted a finger and pointed at Tang Hao’s heart.

“Can I bring you to meet my parents tomorrow?” Tang Hao said.

Qin Xiangyi was surprised. Her expression softened.

She reached out with an arm and hugged Tang Hao dearly. “I’ll let them know that they’ve found a good daughter-in-law.

“They won’t have to worry about you. From now on, I’ll take care of you on their behalf.”

They hugged for a long time and stood up, straightened their clothes, and left the office.

As they stepped out of the factory, the security guard’s gaze on them was rather curious.

They went to the public graveyard the next morning.

Tang Hao’s father and mother were buried there, though their graves were very far apart.

Tang Hao bought many offerings and placed them on their graves.

“Dad, Mom, I used to be very poor, and I can’t afford to buy anything for you. Now, I’ve finally made it. I splurged a little this time, but please don’t think that I’m wasteful.”

Tang Hao said as he kneeled in front of the grave. He sounded as though he was about to cry.

Qin Xiangyi also kneeled in front of the grave and placed her palms together.

“Dad, Mom, you can leave Lil Tang to me. I’ll take good care of him, and I won’t let him starve.”

“I’m the one who’s feeding you!” Tang Hao said softly.

“Ah, why are you like that? Don’t expose me!” Qin Xiangyi said, feigning anger.

They remained at the graveyard for a long time before leaving.

The next three days passed in the blink of an eye.

Tang Hao received a call from Ma Fangfang.

“Tang Hao, my grandpa… he can’t make it! The doctor says that he won’t last the night.” She was sobbing as she spoke.

After ending the call, Tang Hao was silent for a long time.

He could not bear to experience the separation of life and death.

If Grandpa Shunde had agreed to take his medicine, he could extend his life for a while more. However, since the old man did not want it, he did not force it onto him.

He quickly rushed over to meet Grandpa Shunde one last time.

“You’re here, Tang boy?” Grandpa Shunde was lying on the bed in the hospital. He was barely conscious.

  “Yup, I’m here!”

“That’s good. After I’m gone, I’ll leave the two to your care,” Grandpa Shunde said with much difficulty as he held Tang Hao’s hand.

Very soon, he could not talk, and his consciousness faded.

  Eventually, he stopped breathing.

The weak pulse on the monitoring equipment became a straight line.

Cries of sorrow resounded in the hospital room.

Tang Hao stood there for a very long time. Eventually, he went out to get some fresh air, then returned to the room to help out.

Grandpa Shunde’s two unfilial sons were not there, but there were many villagers there to help. Tang Hao was relieved that Ma Fangfang and her mother were not alone.

A few days later, he attended Grandpa Shunde’s funeral to send him off one last time.

Chapter 547 - Attack On Mao Mountain

After the funeral, another two days passed.

In those two days, Tang Hao found Ma Fangfang’s mother a well-paying job that was not too difficult.

Grandpa Shunde’s spirit in heaven should be at ease.

That morning, Tang Hao sat in the office reading some documents.

  Suddenly, his phone rang.

The call was from Shabby Taoist Master.

“Is there anything, Taoist Master?” Tang Hao answered the call.

“Come here fast, Fellow Cultivator Tang!” Shabby Taoist Master sounded worried.

Tang Hao’s expression changed when he heard that.

“What’s wrong?” Tang Hao asked grimly.

“Sigh! Something terrible has happened!” The Taoist master laughed drily. “Do you know that bunch of evil whelps?”

“Evil whelps?” Tang Hao was baffled.

He thought for a while before realizing who the Taoist master was referring to. The Taoist masters liked to call everything “whelps”. The evil whelps that he talked about should be referring to heretical cultivators.

  “What about them?”

“We used to keep them under control, and they’ve been hiding in the shadows. However, they seemed to have received a morale boost lately, and they’ve been causing trouble again. They’ve gathered together and attacked Mao Mountain Taoist masters.

“Several of our wandering brothers have been attacked. Fortunately, they’ve been alert, and they managed to escape with their lives.

“However, they were attacked by heretical sorcery, and some of them are dying.”

Tang Hao furrowed his brows when he heard that. “Heretical cultivators? Looks like Operation Witch Hunter wasn’t a complete success!”

“Sigh! Those people are hiding in the remotest corners of the country. You won’t find them unless you know where to look. I guess that someone powerful must have emerged in the heretical cultivation world who managed to unite them all.

“One of the attacked brothers said that the evil whelps mentioned about an ‘Ancestor.’

“That must be a very powerful figure. Otherwise, they wouldn’t dare to challenge the authority of Mao Mountain.”

Tang Hao thought for a while and said, “I’ll come over now!”

  “Alright, please be quick!”

After the call ended, Tang Hao gave a call to Qin Xiangyi first to inform her that he would be away, then he informed Assistant Han before he left the building.

He drove on the road at full speed and arrived after three hours.

Some Taoist masters were already waiting for him at the base of the mountain.

  “Fellow Cultivator Tang!”

A group of elderly Taoist masters walked over to him. They all wore grim faces.

  “Follow me!”

After exchanging greetings, they brought Tang Hao up the mountain.

He saw the injured Taoist masters in a room. There were three of them in total, and they all seemed to be in agony.

Two of them had pale faces shrouded by a thin black mist. The third one lost half of his body and was barely alive.

There were more who were injured, but those three were the ones that the Taoist masters could not treat.

Tang Hao looked at them, and his expression sank. He could feel burning anger rising in his stomach. He knew the three Taoist masters personally.

“Those evil whelps are too brazen.”

The Taoist masters behind him were cursing.

“Do you have a solution, Fellow Cultivator Trang?” Taoist Master Zhen Yang asked.

“Let me take a closer look,” Tang Hao went to the three people and gave them a thorough examination.

The two people with black mist on their faces were poisoned. The poison was very potent, and one could not expel it if they did not have a strong enough cultivation base. No wonder the Taoist masters were helpless.

However, Tang Hao’s powers could cure them.

The third one, who seemed to be suffering the most, was the easiest to treat. It was only an external wound. Tang Hao stuffed two medical pills into his mouth.

When the pills dissolved, his blood, muscles, and bones started regenerating slowly.

“He’ll be fine. Take him back to his room to rest.”

The Taoist masters exclaimed in surprise when they saw that.

“He’s recovering! This is a miracle!”

  “That’s medical pills for you!”

The Taoist masters were extremely excited.

“I can cure these two too. You all can wait outside, this’ll take some time,” Tang Hao said.

“Quick, quick! Let’s all go out!”

Taoist Master Zhen Yang drove everyone out of the room.

When all the other people left, Tang Hao helped one of them sit up, sat behind him with his legs crossed, and started to expel the poison from the person’s body.

Tang Hao finally exited the room more than two hours later. He looked exhausted.

  “How is it?”

The Taoist masters crowded around him at the door. They looked at him worriedly.

“They’re fine. They just need to rest and recuperate.” Tang Hao exhaled gently and said.

  Everyone cheered excitedly.

“That’s amazing! Thank you so much, Fellow Cultivator Tang!”

“Thank you for your hard work, Fellow Cultivator Tang. Come, let’s go to the main hall and rest,” the elderly Taoist masters said.

They went to the main hall and sat down.

After some tea, Tang Hao asked, “What are your plans, Taoist Masters?”

“We’ll fight them, of course. F*ck them over!”

“Right, right! We’ll have to f*ck them over! Those evil whelps are too brazen. How dare they attack Mao Mountain? They’ll think that we are pushovers if we don’t teach them a lesson!”

The Taoist masters were yelling agitatedly.

“That’s right. We’ll have to strike back hard. We’ll take this opportunity to rid them once and for all,” Taoist Master Zhen Yang said.

The other elderly Taoist masters nodded in agreement.
