“I like the sound of Hawaii.” I set the little black box on the wrought-iron table nearby. “Let’s plan a getaway.”
“I’m going too fast?”
“You’re obsessed with me.”
“True.” He crushed his lips to mine. “Luckily, you’re obsessed with me, too.”
“I am.”
He hugged me tight. “You said yes.”
“Technically, you said yes.”
He chuckled. “Will you always boss me around?”
“Would you like that?”
“Yeah.”
I felt the proof of his arousal.
“I have to go to work. Don’t make me walk into the office like this. I’m already late.” He nudged my hand away. “Are you going to open it?”
I arched a brow.
“The envelope, you minx.”
I smiled, pulled out the card and read:

Ethan watched as I looked over the invitation with happiness. It was going to happen. Mia and Cameron were getting married.
“Let’s beat them to it.” He wrapped his arms around me.
“Hawaii it is then. Now we just have to decide on an island.”

“Danton.”
My body froze and I stared off at the vast ocean view without really seeing it. The thought of parting with his cello was too terrible to bear. “Ethan, please.”
“Here me out.”
I forced back my tears. “Okay.”
“Let’s use Danton as our child’s middle name, in memory of him.”
I turned and fell into his arms. “You would do that?”
“Scarlet Winters,” he said. “When are you going to realize I would do anything for you? I love you more than life itself.” He pulled me into a tight embrace. “Danton’s the reason I get to have you now.”
I felt like I’d waited an entire lifetime for this man, and in many ways I had. Something told me we had Danton’s blessing.
