Falling for the Alien Prince Page 20

by Hannah Davenport

“Cara, what is wrong with you?” Jenna hissed.

“Nothing’s wrong with me. She’s the one who married the guy, so now he’s technically sort of family.”

  “Look Jenna, they have cake!”

  “Austin, don’t use your fingers!”

My men were visibly perplexed as they watched and listened to the Humans interact. Jenna shared a smile with Millie and I knew they were conveying words without speaking, the same as I did with my men.

Their interactions were so different from my family, but finally I understood why Millie defended the mouthy red-headed Cara. However chaotic, they loved each other. They had to; no one else would put up with such madness except loved ones.

After eating, Millie left to spend time with her fellow Humans while I grabbed a bottle of liquid courage and headed to the office.

Gar, Venge, and Strikr joined me. Sitting around sipping our drinks, Gar scrubbed his face. “How long will they be here?”

“They are leaving at sun up.”

“I cannot say that I will miss the constant chattering…” He took another sip. “That red-haired Cara has the potential for real trouble.”

They had no idea the trouble that female child almost caused already, but that was best left unsaid.

  Two Months Later

  Millicent

Waiting for Murda to return, I paced this office while biting my nails.

“Please stop,” Gar said, lounging in the chair.

My eyes briefly touched his before dismissing him.

“You will wear a groove in the floor.” This came from Strikr.

Venge had accompanied Murda to the government building. They’d been gone for hours, and I was starting to feel anxious.

The past two months were spent in negotiations after I helped chose a new ‘Alien Liaison.’ Colonel Ted Stevens was a stern yet fair man, who didn’t shy away from anything. He, along with several other officials, had been utterly flabbergasted when they learned of the shady dealings with the Andores.

Andore Territory had been searched and hundreds of Human women freed from the breeding chambers. It was a huge controversy. Now the Andores were exposed for what they truly were, and the Tizuns were no longer made to keep to the tunnels (even though they preferred them).

So much had changed, and for the better. The new Andore leader, Caicia—the one who had killed Jyan and tried to help me—now led the Andores. That was a bit of a battle. The Human government basically told them that he either led or they could leave, which surprised everyone.

Ted didn’t take shit from anyone.

The unauthorized raids had stopped and the nonsense about having a protector was finally put to rest, at least in Human Territory. I didn’t delude myself into believing all these changes would happen overnight; it would take time…but it was a start.

I stopped pacing. “I’m going to go take a shower and try to calm down. Will someone let me know when he’s back?”

“Yes,” they both answered in unison.

  “Thanks.”

  ________

About two hours later, I heard the door. Murda headed over to the couch. “Well, how’d it go?”

He scooted me over, took a seat and wrapped his arm around me. “It was uneventful.”

  “So?” I prodded.

“Everything is running smoothly, better than I could have hoped for.”

I laid my cheek against his chest. “Every time you go, I worry.”

Even I knew it was leftover fear from the ambush. Killing my uncle still kept me up some nights, but the nightmares were a little less frequent now.

“I know. I would take you with me, but I have the same concerns.”

Realistically, we knew that Jyan and Raun were both dead. Still, they had followers.

With one hand, he tilted my chin upward. His lips gently touched mine, moving slowly. They were warm and moist, and tasted of cinnamon. I loved kissing him.

It didn’t take long for him to deepen the kiss as his tongue sought mine, licking the seams. I knew now exactly how long his tongue was; he had to hold himself back.

One hand skimmed down my arm, over my hip, pulling my leg over top of him. Straddling and kissing Murda, I felt the hard bulge underneath his pants. In an instant, he was on his feet, carrying me to the bedroom.

Clothes stripped, he came down on top of me, supporting his weight with an elbow. His lips left mine and lightly caressed kisses across my jaw, down my neck, before moving back to my mouth. Hitching my leg, he slowly entered me, using the same agonizing pace his lips had set.

His rules forgotten a long time ago, my hands caressed his scar, his glyph, his shoulders, his biceps…touching everywhere within reach.

His hips rocked back and forth, each thrust shooting extreme pleasure up my spine.

  Almost there…

I stared into his beautiful eyes. “I love you, Murda.”

He held himself deep inside, the fok still engaged as we both found release.

Then he kissed me again and smiled sweetly. “And I love you, Millicent.”

When the fok disengaged, he pulled out and rolled to my side.

Someone pounded on the door. Murda sighed heavily. “This better be good.” Without bothering to dress, he went to see what they wanted.

I rolled over and tugged the covers to my neck, thinking about how positively my life had changed. I now had a loving husband and a real home. Things were improving for Human women, and Earth. A smile spread across my face.

I was still smiling when Murda walked back in. I’d never seen him look so happy.

  “What is it?” I asked.

  “My people made contact.”

The smile slipped from my face.

  Oh shit!
