Her family and his would be holding up signs as she walked to the back as well.
With things he had written to her about why he loved her.
And he could only hope it would all work out.
Chapter Ten
Cecilly
Roman had been acting strange all week.
She had asked him if work was being difficult but he would just shake his head and kiss her.
Not that she minded the distraction as it often led to them making love, but she was getting worried.
Her mother had texted earlier in the day to ask if she wanted to have a girl’s night again and told her to get all dressed up for it.
Cecilly didn’t question it and got dressed in her favorite army green sheath dress.
Curling her hair and pairing it with a pair of black high heeled wedges.
She put on her makeup and when her mom texted her to come over so they could go Cecilly got in her car and drove to her parents’ house.
She hadn’t officially moved out, but it was close.
She just hoped Roman would finally ask her to move in with him. She was so happy there and loved being with him every moment.
Pulling into the driveway, Cecilly’s door was opened by her dad.
He was dressed in slacks and a button up white shirt.
“Hey dad. I guess we all got dressed up huh?”
He chuckled. “I have something to show you sweetheart.”
She smiled at him, “Okay. Lead the way.”
He put her arm in his and he led her around the garage to the side of the house and on the ground in a lined path was a bunch of glowsticks.
It had started to get dark before she came over, and Cecilly wondered why there was a path laid out on the ground. But she didn’t say anything.
Just let her dad lead her further down the path that led deeper into the backyard.
When he opened the gate, she couldn’t see the backyard yet, but she did see Luke, holding up a sign that read, “You are so beautiful. Perfection.”
It was in Roman’s handwriting. Cecilly gasped and her dad pulled her forward, walking another few steps down the lit path and she turned when Landon stepped forward, holding another sign. “I love you more than words.”
She felt her eyes go hot and then Katie stepped forward, after she walked another few steps, holding another sign, “You are my candle in the darkness, lighting up my life. My own personal firecracker.”
That did it. Tears fell down her cheeks as they stepped further into the backyard, and Rhees stepped forward, holding another sign. “I have loved you for so long, it doesn’t seem real that I finally got you.”
The tears fell faster now and when Roman’s dad Roger held up his sign. “I am the luckiest man that ever lived to have perfection by my side for the rest of my life.”
She let out small gasps and her dad held her arm tighter and handed her a tissue.
Caroline stepped forward, “I can’t wait until you share my last name and carry my children.”
And then her mom stepped forward, holding up one more sign. “Marry me Cecilly. Make me the happiest man alive.”
And her mom moved out of the way, revealing Roman, who was down on one knee on the blanket they shared during the fireworks.
He was smiling up at her and her dad kissed her cheek softly and Roman grabbed her hand.
“I love you Cecilly. My Candle. My firecracker. My love. My world. More than my life. More than my next breath. You are so wonderful, kind and perfect and I can’t imagine my life without you in it. Marry me. Say you will be mine forever.”
He pulled a box from his pocket and opened it up to the most gorgeous ring she had ever seen.
It looked like a tiny firework or a star. And she loved it.
She nodded and then said, “Yes Roman. I will marry you.”
He grinned and put the ring on her finger before standing and pulling her in for a kiss.
Above them, the sky lit up with fireworks and Cecilly gasped as the colorful lights filled her vision.
“Oh Roman. I love you so much.”
He kissed her again. “I love you too my candle. Thank you for loving me back.”
She snuggled into his arms and together with their families surrounding them, they watched the firework show.
Chapter Eleven
Roman
It was their wedding day.
He couldn’t believe it. But he also was glad it wasn’t much later.
He only gave their moms two weeks to get everything planned.
And they surpassed his expectations.
They had once again turned the backyard into a wonderland and Roman was happy they were getting married in the same place they got engaged.
He stood at the arch their moms built and watched as Cecilly walked down the aisle to him on her dad’s arm.
Katie was her maid of honor and Rhees was his best man.
Rhees had walked Katie down the aisle just moments earlier and Roman could see the sexual tension between the two from a mile away.
It had made him smile. And then he saw his girl. His candle.
She was a vision in white. Her dress was white and there were starburst shapes throughout her dress in gold and silver sparkles.
The top had no sleeves, just led down to where a bit of her cleavage peeked from the top of her dress and down to the full skirts.
He didn’t know the name of the sheer fabric covering the skirt that had so many sparkles, but she looked like a vision came to life and when she made it to his side, he leaned down and whispered how beautiful she looked.
She smiled at him and that was it.
Listening to the man who was marrying them, he kept looking into her eyes and mouthing how much he loved her.
Her eyes swam with tears and when they got to the vows, Roman went first.
“Candle. You are everything to me. You set me free from my boring and lonely existence. You gave me light, and more happiness that I never thought I would feel. I am a better man because of you and your love. I am so glad you agreed to be mine. I love you.”
She let out a soft sob and wiped her eyes. Then she handed her bouquet to Katie and turned to look at him.
“Roman, I knew you were the man I was going to marry when I was too young to even think that way. But I never wavered. I always knew deep in my heart that you were mine. And I was right. You have been my hope and my love for a long time and I am so glad I finally get to kiss you.”
Everyone laughed and then she continued, “I love you Roman. I can’t wait to be your wife.”
The preacher asked if they took each other and then he told them to kiss each other.
Roman was only too happy to oblige. She was his wife now.
Kissing her, and dipping her low, he pulled her to her feet and hugged her close.
“I love you wife.”
She grinned, “I love you husband.”
They spent the rest of the night talking, dancing, laughing, eating and partying it up.
Roman loved every moment of it because he had his girl by his side and she would be for the rest of his life.
Epilogue
The Next Year
“Roman! We don’t want to be late for the parade. Come on! It’s her first parade hon.”
“Coming love. I just wanted to make sure that we had everything. I don’t want to forget anything. What if she gets too hot or sunburned?”
Cecilly laughed, “Babe, she will be fine.”
They had their first baby in May. Belle Julia Galloway was perfect in every way.
She had lots of dark hair and Roman’s eyes.
But that was about all that was his. Belle looked exactly like she used to when she was a baby.
And Roman loved it. He was overprotective of his baby girl to a fault and Cecilly loved it.
When she was pregnant Roman was very hands on. He would rub her feet, get her whatever she wanted when she had a craving and loved to talk to her belly.
/> Not only that, but when she was pregnant, she was hornier than she had ever been.
Roman had been on board every step of the way for that and he never complained once.
She would come home for lunch and he would fuck her on the dining room table before she left for work again and when she got home at night, he would be in the middle of rubbing her feet when she would get so horny she practically jumped him.
He didn’t mind. And she loved it. Even now, he still didn’t mind her jumping on him and he loved her bigger curves.
He was the best father to their sweet girl and she loved seeing the man she loved be such a marshmallow.
They finally got everything loaded into the car and drove to where their families sat together once again.
Cecilly knew the moment they got there that either her mom, or Caroline would take Belle from their hands and not give her back.
Which was nice sometimes. But also gave Roman anxiety.
She loved it. It was once again her favorite time of year and now she had one more person to share it with.
Her tiny peanut would one day love the magic the fourth of July brought to their small town.
And she couldn’t wait.
Hugging Roman’s arm, she gave his skin a quick kiss and he kissed her fingers.
“Happy anniversary baby.” He told her and she grinned at him.
“Happy anniversary.”
Their life was magic, joy and fireworks all wrapped up in a loving bow.
And she couldn’t wait to see what else was in store.
