Hidden Betrayal (O'Connor Girls Book 1) Page 20

Dean lowered his window as he pulled up next to Trunk. Crunch stepped to the other side of the Jeep, and the two that Kristy didn’t know walked to the back of the vehicle.

“They are a persistent bunch of nosey bastards.” Trunk shook his head as he stepped up to the window.

  “That they are.” Dean sighed.

The gate clicked and started to open while Dean moved his jeep slowly between them. Kristy turned around and watched as the four security men spread out in front of the closing gate to keep any of the reporters from getting inside.

“How do famous people live with that every single day?” Kristy turned back around.

“My dad always said as long as they are talking about you then you’re not dead,” Hannah whispered.

“He was wrong there.” Dean scoffed.

  “Yeah,” Hannah signed.

Dean didn’t say much for the rest of the evening. He spent most of the time reading the files that John had copied for him. Data that he wasn’t supposed to have because John had warned him not to show them to anyone or tell anyone he had them.

He only told Kristy because Dean knew she would never do anything to jeopardize John’s job. Plus, her father was probably the one that gave John the okay to sneak them to Dean.

She sat next to him and watched a marathon of friends’ episodes on one of the cable channels. There were containers in Dean’s fridge that had been left by her grandmother with a note to make sure they eat. Dean had smiled when he read it and told Kristy how lucky she was to have such a great family.

Kristy cleared the dirty dishes and put them in the dishwasher. When she went to wipe down the counter, Dean stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

“Thank you,” Dean whispered into her ear.

“For what?” She turned her head to look up at him.

“For being you.” He smiled and kissed her temple.

“I don’t know who else to be.” Kristy smiled.

Dean turned her around and cupped her face in his hands. He didn’t say a word, but he studied her face as if she would disappear.

“Kitten, you are the one thing in my life that keeps me from flying off the handle. When I feel the urge to punch someone, I think or look at you, and this wave of tranquility comes over me, and I can breathe again.” She watched him swallow hard as his eyes glistened.

“I love you, Dean. There is nowhere else I want to be but by your side.” Kristy raised her hand to cup his cheek.

“The word love doesn’t seem strong enough to explain how much you mean to me. I love you, yes but I adore you, worship you, I cherish you, and even with all that, it still doesn’t seem like a strong enough statement of how I feel about you.” Dean stared into her eyes, and she could swear she could feel it down to the depth of her soul.

“Then show me,” Kristy whispered as her lips met his.

Dean’s fingers threaded through her hair, and he tilted her head to the side as his mouth covered hers. The only way to describe the way he kissed her was to say he devoured her and plunged his tongue into her mouth.

Kristy slid her hands under his shirt and up his back to the most extensive part. His muscles rippled as she dragged her nails across and pulled him closer.

He pushed her back against the counter and pressed his hips into her. He crouched a little, so his erection was in line with the aching junction of her thighs. He groaned into her mouth and dropped his hands to her waist without breaking the kiss.

Kristy moaned as he lifted her into his arms and spun around. He broke the kiss long enough to make sure he didn’t trip on the way to his bedroom. Kristy didn’t have to watch because she was too busy nipping and kissing up and down both sides of his neck

She only stopped when she heard the click of the bedroom door closing. Dean lowered her onto the bed as he resumed the mind-blowing kiss he’d stopped seconds earlier.

Kristy wanted nothing between them as she frantically tried to rid him of the t-shirt he wore. The problem was he didn’t seem to want to break their kiss again.

“Dean,” Kristy moaned against his lips as he thrust his covered erection against her again.

“Hmmm.” He moaned against her mouth.

“Clothes,” She gasped when he nipped her lower lip.

“You want me naked, Kitten.” He whispered in her ear and then sucked the lobe into his hot mouth.

  “Fuck,” Kristy groaned.

“I know you don’t say that word very often but when you do, God it turns me on.” Dean sucked on her earlobe again.

“Well, you’re about to explode in a minute.” Kristy wiggled under him. “Get out of those fucking clothes.”

“Grrr,” Dean growled and knelt between her legs as he ripped his T-shirt over his head. Kristy managed to unbuckle his belt and open his jeans before he ripped open the front of her blouse. The buttons clicked as they flew across the room.

“You will be sewing all those back on.” Kristy giggled when he tried to do the same to her bra, but since it opened in the front with a little clip, it simply unfastened.

“I’ll buy you a new one.” He stood up long enough to drop his jeans and boxer briefs while she wiggled out of the rest of her clothes.

As she lay naked on his bed, Dean stood at the foot of the bed; his gaze ran up the entire length of her body. It was highly arousing, and he hadn’t even touched her. When his eyes met hers he grabbed her ankles and pulled her to the edge of the bed and knelt on the floor between her thighs.

He gently placed each of her legs over his shoulders as he turned his face into each thigh and placed light kisses slowly up one then the other. For a moment he stopped, and she could feel his hot breath against her wet folds.

“So fucking wet.” Dean blew against her clit and quickly flicked his tongue between her folds.

“Ohhh, yesss.” Kristy panted and squeezed her thighs together around his head.

“I love the taste of you.” Dean started from the bottom of her opening and slowly licked between until he reached her throbbing clit.

“Dean, yes.” Kristy fisted the sheets next to her as he did it a second time and then a third.

“My cock is aching to be inside you right now.” He groaned as he spread her swollen lips apart and licked her again, but this time stopped before he reached her clit. “I want you to come before I drive deep inside you. I want to watch you come undone as my mouth devours this sweet pussy.”

“You are driving me insane, Dean. Please make me come.” Kristy moaned and raised her hips off the bed to get closer to his mouth.

Dean didn’t make her beg, he sucked her hard nub into his mouth as he slowly slid a finger inside her. She gasped as he slid it in and pulled it out slowly while he sucked and nibbled on her sensitive clit.

“Dean, yes. Don’t stop.” Kristy panted as the pressure of his suction increased, and he slid a second digit inside her. She couldn’t hold it in and shouted his name every time he pushed his fingers deep inside her.

“Come, Kitten.” Dean released her clit long enough to say the words but quickly took up where he stopped.

His fingers swirled inside her, and he fluttered his tongue against her clit still covered with his hot mouth. The orgasm slammed through her body with such intensity that the muscles in her legs tensed and squeezed around Dean’s head.

She squeezed her eyes shut as her body shuddered and twitched. Dean continued to stimulate her sensitive nub, and his fingers turned inside her. She didn’t think another would hit her so fast, but when he pressed against the inner wall of her core, she screamed his name.

“Kitten, that was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever fucking seen,” Dean growled.

He pushed her up so that her legs were now resting on the bed instead of on his shoulders. Dean knelt between them, and she slowly opened her eyes to look at the beautiful specimen of a man before her.

The dark colorful pair of wings tattooed across his chest from one shoulder to the other. The color s
pread down both arms into beautiful sleeves on each arm. Then there was his body. Broad muscled chest with defined abdominal muscles. He didn’t have any body hair except for the beard that he continued to grow which made him look sexier if that was even possible.

“Are you done staring yet?” Dean smiled showing straight white teeth.

“I could stare at you all day, but I want to get a taste of that gorgeous piece of equipment pointing to the ceiling.” Kristy pushed herself up on her elbows and grazed her knee against his stiff cock.

“Not tonight, Kitten.” Dean reached for the nightstand.

“Why not?” Kristy grinned when she used her foot to rub against his balls.

“Damn, one because I want to be inside you and two if I let you put that sweet mouth around my cock now, I’ll lose what little control I’ve got.” Dean rolled the condom onto his erection.

He guided it to her opening as he locked his gaze with hers. It took everything she had not to close her eyes as he filled her. Dean groaned when he was fully seated inside her.

“I love you, Kitten,” Dean whispered against her lips as he slowly began to thrust in and out of her.

“I love you too, Dean. So much.” Kristy wrapped her legs around his thighs and met his thrust with her own.

She’s always dreamed of making love to him, but nothing in her fantasies could ever compare to the real thing. As sexy and handsome as Dean Nash was, he was much more to her. He was her heart, her soul. Dean was her life.

“Nobody has ever made me feel the way you do, Kitten,” Dean whispered against her lips and quickened his thrusts.

“I’ve never wanted anyone as I want you. I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you.” Kristy moaned as he plunged into her.

“Yes, baby. I’m gonna… ahhh.” Dean slammed into her, and his muscles tightened against her. His body trembled as he roared out her name.

Dean dropped his head to the nape of her neck while they both tried to catch their breath. Dean’s body made several involuntary spasms as he came down from his orgasm.

“Do you know the only time you say my name is when you come.” Kristy chuckled.

“Probably because it’s all I can manage to vocalize when I come.” Dean laughed and pressed his lips against her chest.

He lifted his head and smiled down at her. She loved this man with every fiber of her being, and she knew he was the only man she would ever love. The sudden thought of someone was out there that wanted to harm his family and possibly kill him made her vision blur with tears.

“Kitten, what’s wrong?” Dean’s concerned face made her want to kick herself.

“I don’t want to lose you.” Kristy sniffed and tried to hold back the tears.

“I’m not going anywhere.” Dean rolled off her. “The only place I need to go is get rid of this condom, and I’ll be right back. Then we’ll talk about these unnecessary tears.”

It was no more than a minute, and he was crawling into the bed next to her. He pulled her against him and kissed the top of her head as she tried to compose herself.

  “I love you.” She whispered.

“I love you, too but why the tears?” Dean tipped her face up, so she had to look at him.

“With everything going on, it seems like someone wants to hurt you …. Or worse.” Kristy swallowed.

“Kitten, I’m going to be fine.” Dean kissed her lips, but something in his eyes told her he was concerned too.

“Promise me, you won’t take chances with your life.” Kristy cupped his cheek.

“The only way that would happen is if someone tried to hurt the people I love.” Dean covered her hand with his.

“Someone is doing that now.” Kristy swallowed the lump in her throat.

“I know but can we forget that for tonight. I want to spend the rest of the night making love to you, over and over.” Dean rolled her onto her back and covered her mouth with his.

How could she argue with that? She could forget about the danger for a night and simply be with the man she loved until they were so exhausted they couldn’t do anything but fall asleep in each other’s arms.

  Chapter 21

Dean dropped the weights to the floor after the last set of squats for the day. His quads were aching, and sweat rolled down his face. Mornings were always the best time for him to work out but he wasn’t alone in the gym. Keith was working on his back and shoulders on the other side of the room, while Hulk was pounding the shit out of a punching bag.

They’d gotten through the first week of October, but they were no closer to figuring out anything. The team that was sent over to his house had found some hair and fingerprints that the idiots missed before and a piece of chocolate under the sofa. It was a small piece, but they were having it tested anyway. Basically, there was more waiting.

“Bull, I’m heading out for that new client in the morning. Is there anything you need before I go?” Hulk asked between blows to the bag.

“Nah, it’s not much anyone can do right now.” Dean grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler and gulped it down.

“John let it slip that you’ve got a copy of the files on both cases,” Keith grunted as he let the weights on the shoulder press drop.

“Yeah, keep that under your hat.” Dean wiped his head and face with the towel around his neck.

“You know when my brothers, you and I work together we get things figured out. Why don’t I get them over tonight for a guy’s night?” Keith walked toward him.

“I’ve had it for almost two weeks, and the truth is, I don't see anything.” Dean plopped down on one of the benches.

“Sandy’s checking into the connection between Eric, Leah and Trevor but the only thing she can find is what I already told you. She did manage to get that adoption record open.” Keith raised an eyebrow, and Dean knew what he was about to say.

“I know. Hannah told me all about it. Eric was the baby’s father which was why he probably hated his brother and Hannah so much.” She’d told him about being with Eric before dating Ivan.

“That’s not what the record says, Bull.” Keith sat next to him.

  “What does it say?”

“It doesn’t have the father’s name, but Hannah's listed as the mother.” Keith opened the email on his phone.

“Hannah told me Eric was the kid’s father. I guess when the baby died, she didn’t bother to put the father's name on the birth… Wait, you said adoption records? The baby died.” Dean glanced from Keith to the phone his friend had in his hand.

“This doesn’t say the baby died, Bull.” Keith handed Dean the phone so that he could read the email from Sandy.

“Hannah told me the baby died in her arms three days after he was born.” Dean couldn’t believe what he read.

“Then where is the death certificate?” Keith was asking a relevant question.

The email stated that a baby boy born to Hannah Decker was adopted, but the adoptive parent's names were blacked out. The birthdate that Hannah had given him was correct, but the adoption date was the date the baby was supposed to have died.

“This doesn’t make sense.” Dean tapped the phone and forwarded the email to himself.

He needed to talk to Hannah about this. Had she lied to him about the baby and if so why? It’s not like it would change anything.

“You know I figured when the O’Connor girls started to date that it would be nice, quiet and fun to tease them. What is it with your family?” Hulk sighed.

“Never a dull moment.” Keith chuckled.

Dean left the gym and ran back to his bunkhouse. Hannah sat with Jason going over all the evidence that would be presented in her case when and if they went to court.

It was a little after eleven when Jason stood up from the table with a satisfied smile on his face. He’d made several comments about things being circumstantial or bullshit. The only thing Dean understood from it was that it didn’t look like Hannah could have killed Ivan.

  “He seems pretty positive
that I won’t have to go to trial.” Hannah poured a cup of coffee for herself and Dean.

“I hate to bring this up now but Han, this doesn’t make any sense.” Dean pulled out his phone and opened the email from Keith.

Hannah read through it, and he could see the very minute she saw the contradiction to what she’d told him a few days earlier. She shook her head as she read it.

“No, I know my baby died. He’s buried in Jersey Harbour next to Dad’s parents. I named him after Dad, and there is a small headstone with his name on it.” Tears streamed down her cheeks.

“You had a funeral for him?” Dean asked.

“Not really, the priest came to the gravesite and did a small service there.” Hannah sighed as she wiped her eyes. “I don’t understand what baby Aiden’s death has to do with any of this. I’ve lost two children, Dean. Two. One of them because I went into premature labor, but I’d resigned myself that it was meant to be. Now I think my kids were taken away from me because I’m a bad person.” She was sobbing so hard that it was hard to understand some of what she said.

“Hannah, you’re not a bad person.” Dean pulled her into his arms.

“I was wild back then, Dean. The truth was Eric was in love with me, but I didn’t care. I slept with him and then went on to the next guy. He didn’t sleep around like I said before. I didn’t want you to think badly of me.” Hannah continued.

“The next guy turned out to be his brother.” Dean could see where she was going with this, but it was crazy to think that her kids died as some sort of Karma for her wild behavior.

“Yeah, and to be honest, I had no intention of staying with Ivan either, but something happened between us. When he kissed me the first time, it was like a light came on in my life, and I couldn’t see myself with anyone else.” She’d calmed a little, but she still clung to Dean.

“None of this is your fault, Han.” Dean kissed the top of her head.

“I should have been honest with Eric from the beginning. I should never have hidden the fact that he was the baby’s father and maybe he wouldn’t have set all this up.” Hannah sighed.
