“Yes! Fuck yeah, it went through. Holy fucking shit!” Mo yelled, now excited and slapping hands with his buddies who cheered and celebrated the robbery they just did.
Well, she just did. It was an easy hack, and despite being out of practice, she did it. She also notified the authorities of their location, and tagged the money that was stolen. When Mo released her like he promised he would, he would get caught and all fingers would point to him and every one of his team members, including her mom. She just needed to confirm that Isla was okay.
“Release Isla now. You promised me that she would be free.”
The men were celebrating and packing things up, preparing to leave the hotel as Mo bent down and reached for her hand to help her up. She tried getting up on her own, but he grabbed her upper arm and pulled her close. “Your friend is fine. I hardly even hurt her, and didn’t even take her out of that shit town you lived in.”
“What?”
He smirked. “You’re too soft, York. That’s why you need looking after. Need a man who can direct you, protect you and help you to nurture the gift you have.” He stroked her cheek where the bruising was. “Be smart about this, and you can live. Resist, and there’s no telling what might happen.”
“What in God’s name are you talking about?” she asked and gulped. “Where is Isla? Are you lying to me? Is she okay?”
“She is tied up in a barn in Cherry Hill. Probably in bad shape by now if no one found her, but I didn’t kill her.”
“You bastard,” she whispered, and he chuckled then looked at Gale.
“Is everything all set?” he asked her.
“All set,” Gale said, and eyed York over in such a way that it sent chills up and down her spine.
“Mom?”
Mo walked over and cupped Gale’s cheek, and ran his hand under her head and smirked. “Our new life begins today, just like I promised you, Gale. It took time, but we finally got there. Who would have known the key to it all was the daughter we never wanted.”
He pressed his mouth to Gale’s and York felt like a knife just went through her heart. That she had been fooled by their lies, by her own mother’s lies, as well as by guilt York never should have had. Her pain went to anger fast, and as Mo turned around smiling with his hand on her mom’s hip, York punched him in the nose, breaking it. She ran toward the door, and pulled it open as the men yelled at her. As she ran out the corridor and down the hallway toward the stairs, two men grabbed her. “Please let me go. Let me go, there’s men trying to hurt me.
One spoke into his wrist. “We got her. Heading up now.”
She struggled to get free as they got into the stairwell and forced her up the stairs. “Who are you? Where are you taking me?” she demanded to know.
“You’re safe now, Miss. Fayer,” one said to her as he opened the next door to another floor in the hotel. As the doors opened, there stood Investigator Suade Felt. The relief that hit her body made her knees weak. “Oh thank God, Agent Felt. They’re downstairs. My father and mother were in on it together, along with the other men.”
“Let’s move quickly,” he said, and she walked with them toward the elevator and they went up, not down. She couldn’t understand where they were taking her, and why no one in her father’s crew came running after her. As they got to the top floor and walked down the corridor, the two men spoke into their mics and Suade pushed open the door. There was a helipad and a helicopter there, the propellers moving, it was ready to take off.
“What is this? Where are we going?” she asked as the two men walked her closer but Agent Felt remained standing there, smirking.
“Tying up loose ends, and completing the deal. Thanks for the help with the money,” he said.
She was shocked as the side door of the helicopter opened and Vin Merconnie stepped out, smirking. That black and grey hair, the evil eyes, his expensive suit, hit her all at once. Her parents tricked her, this agent tricked her. It was all a setup. All a way to make them money and finish the original deal. She was her father’s debt. He sold her to Vin. “No!” she screamed and tried to get free. She screamed at the top of her lungs, and then felt the prick to her neck. Vin nodded his head toward the helicopter. She struggled as they moved her closer and got her inside, and then her body went weak. Vin lifted her up into his arms.
He was a big man, tall, six feet three, muscular, and in his late forties. She heard the door close, the mumbled words of the pilot, and then felt the strap go over her body as Vin held her in his arms. He cupped her cheek and licked his lips. “I’ve waited years for you, York. Years to have you in my arms, in my bed, under my control. I own you now. Forget your old life, and everyone in it.” He caressed her cheek and stroked her lip. “You’re in my world. You’re my woman, my possession, forever.”
She couldn’t move, but she felt his touch. Saw how his eyes stared at her body, the way he licked his lips, and then held her close to him, kissed her temple, her cheeks and her lips. Tears spilled from her eyes. She couldn’t do anything. Her vision began to blur, just as she stared up into his eyes and realized he was right. Her life was over. She would never see her men again, or anyone else she cared about.
“Noooo!” Cab roared and slammed his fist down on the table. His brothers growled out, others in the command center exclaimed in a similar response. York wasn’t there. She was taken by helicopter by someone. The video surveillance on the rooftop didn’t indicate who it was. Two men and Agent Felt were responsible.
“We’re back to fucking square one. After everything she did in the computer to alert us, to show what she was forced to do, to follow the money and prove who was involved, and this guy takes her. Who the fuck is he?” Finn said aloud.
“We need to stay focused here. The detectives and agents in Vegas have most of the crew, including her mother and her father. Let them begin interrogations. Agent Felt is done. They got him. It means everyone who knows where York was taken and by who is in custody. See what the agents investigating these robberies and crimes come up with. York put everything out there. She risked her life, risked everything to ensure that her parents, the agent, the men in her father’s crew, all got caught. Over ten million dollars was stolen. They won’t be getting out of prison ever.”
“That’s just fucking great, Lextin, but what about York? Who is this guy? Where did he take her? How does he fit into the equation?” Lotus asked.
“We’re working on it and so are the agents. York is incredibly bright when it comes to hacking, and she obviously covered her tracks just in case anyone else was watching. Those tracks need to be uncovered and that’s what the intelligence agents are working on now. In the interim, try thinking about what she revealed to each of you about her family, about her past and anything she was involved in,” Lextin added.
“The only thing we know is that one job her father and his crew got caught in. She helped out to save her mother,” Lotus said.
“She mentioned that she was forced to do the job, that someone assaulted her. She told Harper there was a guy her father owed money to,” Ferrion said to them.
“What? She didn’t tell us about any guy,” Marco stated.
“Hold up, let me call Harper,” Broaden said, and they all looked at him and waited as she spoke to Harper.
“I know she asked you not to say anything about it and it was in confidence, but baby, she’s in trouble. We have no leads on this guy who took her. We need something to go on. Someone to investigate.” He looked at Cab, Marco, Lotus, and Finn felt his chest tighten. “Oh God, are you sure? No, we aren’t sure yet, but we need this information, anything. A name, Harper? Something to remember about her telling you this?”
“Vin. An older guy late forties, had ties to York’s father and his crew,” he said, covering the mouthpiece. “Nothing else?”
He swallowed hard and Finn knew it was bad. “I’ll call you when we know more. This will help, yes. Love you.” He ended the call.
“What?” Cab barked.

sp; “York didn’t tell you about this guy Vin. Apparently, when she did that job for her dad, this guy roughed her up and tried to rape her.”
“No. What the fuck?” Marco exclaimed.
“It’s the guy? This is the guy?” Cab asked.
“Harper said that York was able to escape from him because the police located everyone and the building they were in. She ran, got her mom out, and this guy, Vin, took off. Everyone else was busted. This guy was back in the picture. Somehow connected.”
“Son of a bitch. She didn’t tell us about this. Why didn’t she tell us about this?” Cab said aloud.
“She probably didn’t want you to worry, to think about it, and she thought she had nothing to worry about either. That it was in the past. Remember she said there was no reason to get into it all. That it was behind her and her new life was in Cherry Hill with us?” Lotus said to his brother.
“Yeah, well it was important to know, because having just a first fucking name isn’t going to help us,” Marco barked.
“Not necessarily true,” Lextin said, and typed on the laptop.
“What? You got something?” Cab asked.
“Got a friend on the inside working with intelligence and sorting through your woman’s work. He’s impressed how she imbedded the information. He’s pulling up international accounts she somehow tagged. Like very impressive work.”
“What about this guy, Lextin? How do we find out who this guy is?” Marco asked him.
“It’s going to take time. I sent the name Vin to my buddy. The agents are questioning York’s parents and the other men, plus Felt. Between these avenues, hopefully we get the name soon.”
“She must be so scared. So hurt by her parents doing this to her. She’s probably worried about Isla still. This guy is done. I swear if it’s the last thing I do, I will kill him for hurting York. I’ll fucking kill him,” Cab said, and everyone was silent.
York didn’t know where she was. Vin kept her sedated, in a constant fog, unaware of what was real and what wasn’t. She didn’t even know if she heard the commotion right earlier, during the night. Just felt him lift her up out of bed, carry her out of the room and onto a boat. He caressed her cheeks, touched her intimately, but she was so out of it, she didn’t know if it was real or not. Now, here she lay, in a bikini she didn’t remember putting on at all, under an umbrella, on a wide lounge chair for two, and Vin was right next to her. She tried to move, and her body felt weak. She looked at herself, could see her ribs. Did she even eat?”
He used his palm to caress along her belly, then up to her breast, cupping it. Vin leaned into her and kissed her skin. “Soon I won’t need to sedate you so much. I need to know that you know your place. That I own you, sweet, sweet York,” he said, and then moved the strap off of her shoulder and began to taste her breast. Her head spun.
“Sir, he’s here,” someone said, and she turned slightly. Vin covered up her breast, fixed her, and then pointed down at her. “You don’t entice him with this body. It is mine,” he said to her, and then slid off the lounge chair and stood up. He wore white pants and a sheer white top, unbuttoned and showing off his body. He was in great physical condition. She saw the man, older, a beard, gray and black, he was heavy set, also dressed similar, tropical with a Hawaiian shirt and tan light shorts. His eyes went to her body and he licked his lips. “Meet my woman York. She comes from the states.”
“Lovely indeed, my friend. She is stunning.”
“Eyes off of her, she belongs to me.”
“Of course she does. A very valuable possession. I mean no disrespect, but it seems you have many people looking for you and for her. It may be in your best interest to head to the island. Tonight.”
“Hmmm, I was hoping to enjoy a bit more of civilization.”
The man chuckled. “Like living on my private piece of the forbidden island is uncivilized?”
Vin chuckled. Her head pounded as she tried to listen, to learn some information, anything that might help her escape.
“It might as well be with supplies only coming once a month to Niihau.”
“They could come sooner, but you risk being detected. Now I have my men loading everything up. They’ll be six guards on the island with you, but nowhere near the house. As you know, my place is secluded and only the locals know of it. I pay big bucks for that advantage. They watch and they monitor the water, the weather, and inform you of any situations. They have high-powered boats ready to maneuver through the ocean to get you and your precious commodity to safety and another spot if need be. They can also eliminate any threats before they even reach land.”
“Excellent. I would hope this will be worth the money I’ve spent with you.”
“Like you care about the money. You’re filthy rich.”
“Despite my little angel’s finagling of some funds. They were decoys anyway. The government will continue on a wild goose chase. I appreciate the assistance. I will prepare to leave with her tonight.”
“Very good. Good luck, my friend, and remember the satellite phone is the best way to reach me if you need for anything. The men are military and prepared for anything.”
“Excellent.”
The two men hugged and slapped one another’s backs. She figured they were very close. Vin didn’t trust just anyone. She knew that much. The knowledge that he was taking her to some remote island brought down her hope of escaping. She would be no match to seven military soldiers ready to kill. It seemed to her that she had to try and make an escape soon, but how? How could she when he kept her drugged? She lifted up and it cost her as her head spun and she nearly fell from the chair.
“Whoa, looks like it’s that time again,” he said to her, and laid her back down.
“No, no, Vin, please. Please let me go.”
He shook his head and held her down by her upper arms and started down into her eyes. “You are never leaving me. I have plans for us. Once you realize that obeying me is the only way to stay alive, then we can work on lower doses of the drugs. Believe me, I would rather have you wide awake and calling out my name when we make love, then you moaning, and not even knowing I’m inside of you.” He used his thumb to stroke along her breast and she felt sick, violated and angry.
“I’ll never accept you, or obey you. Never.”
He pursed his lips. Then he clicked his fingers and someone appeared with a small bag. He put the items down and spoke to her. “It’s only been three weeks. I knew it would take time. Our honeymoon will be on the island. I won’t need to sedate you too much. You won’t try to escape because the only way off is the ocean and miles and miles of ocean before reaching any shoreline. The sharks would eat you up alive not even fifty feet off the beach. With seven military guards on patrol, armed, capable, you would be stupid to even try it.” He prepared the needle and she tried to move. He forearmed her across the throat, holding her in place. His face was close to hers, the needle at her neck. “You’re mine. No one else exists but me. The sooner you accept your fate, the more pleasure, and freedom you’ll receive.”
“I hate you. I will never submit. Never.” She gasped as he stuck her with the needle and she felt the pinch, the burning sensation, and then the tingling throughout her body. As he lifted up, smirking, and the guy pulled together the needle and drugs, she felt weak, tried to fight it but it was no use. Whatever he gave her did the job quickly. All she could do was lay there as he kissed her lips, her neck, and then pulled down her straps and feasted on her breasts.
“Accept your fate, York. You belong to me now. Always and forever, you belong to Vin.”
“We got something,” Ferrion said to Finn, Lotus, Marco, and Cab as they entered the command center. A month had passed. They were losing hope of finding York and this guy Vin Merconnie when they missed them as feds raided his estate in Hawaii.
“What do you have? Another dead end lead? A missed grab, what?” Marco asked.
