Jordan smiled as he showed Emma how to support the baby’s head and neck while holding him. Emma was going to be a great big-sister.
“Momma, I’m holding Eeefan,” Emma called out from across the room and Kate couldn’t help the emotions, as her words melted her heart.
“I see that,” she said, smiling and glancing at Jordan. “You’re a great helper. Such a big-sister.”
Jordan took Ethan in his arms as he helped Emma off the couch. “Let’s go see Mommy.”
Walking over to the edge of the bed, Jordan gently lifted Emma up while keeping a hold on Ethan. Emma climbed up next to Kate and cuddled against her. “I missed you, Momma.”
“I missed you too, sweetheart.”
Jordan sat down next to Kate on the edge of the bed and handed Ethan off to her. Scooting closer to her, he laid back as they all cuddled together. Wrapping an arm around Kate and Ethan, along with Emma, Jordan held onto his family.
“I love you, Jordan.”
“He loves you, too, Momma,” Emma said, clapping her hands with excitement.
Laughing, Jordan pressed his lips against hers and said, “That’s no surprise that I do, is it?”
“Not at all,” Kate said, keeping her eyes focused on his. “It doesn’t surprise me one bit. I’ve always known you loved me, ever since day one.”
“What can I say, you’re my forever,” he said, kissing her temple.
“And what can I say, except for the same?” Kate asked, smiling as she held her little family in her arms. “As cheesy as it sounds, I’ve loved you since day one, too.”
Pulling his family in close, wrapping his arms tightly around them all, Jordan kissed the top of each of their heads. “You guys are my life.”
There was no doubt in the words he said. There was no doubt that he meant those words with every piece of him. How did she get so lucky, to make the move she did in order to make a fresh start, only to find him and fall in love. Some call it love at first sight, some call it fate. She called it a will to love again, and having faith that everything would work out in the end. For whatever purpose, bad things happen; there’re always good things to follow. She and Jordan were the proof to her belief. She would never lose focus on what she believed, with a man like Jordan by her side.
Kate looked up at him, a smile on her face, and innocence in her voice, “This is our forever.”
