“Hanna, I ---”

“Don’t come any closer. I don’t want to hear it and neither do all of my neighbors, Ben.”

“Well, your going to hear it. Nothing that happened back there is what it looks like. Lacy showed up why I was working out. She had a folder in her hand saying her Dad wanted to invest and she wanted to arrange a meeting and get some preliminary ideas. I told her I was going to take a quick shower and be right back. I came out when I heard the lamp break and found you sitting in your car. That’s it, Hanna. Nothing else happened. I promise.”

Hesitantly, she looks at me. “I promise you, Hanna. I would never cheat on you. You are it for me.”

She smiles, but almost instantly her smile drops and her shoulders hang. “Look, Ben. We both know I am not the type of woman you date anyway. This isn’t going to last. It’s better to just end it now.”

“Fuck. What the fuck are you talking about, Hanna. You are my type. You are mine.”

“But I’m not. You date tall, slim, beautiful women. I’m not that. And don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with who I am. But I am not for you. It’s better to end it now.” And she backs up to close the door in my face.

I put my foot in the door to stop it from shutting. I reach for her “Hanna, you can say whatever you want. I know what happened at the house was bad, but I will never put you in that situation again. You are it for me. Forever. I love you, Hanna. I love your face, your body, your independence, you’re it for me. I’m not letting you go.”

Hanna doesn’t understand that all I think about is her. I haven’t thought about, let alone looked at another woman since her. I stand before her waiting, holding my breath. I can’t live my life without her, but ultimately it has to be her decision.

“Ok. I love you too, Ben. Are you sure about us?”

“Yes, Hanna, I am going to spend the rest of my life making sure you never doubt my love for you.”

  Epilogue

  Hanna

  6 months later

I’m standing in the lady’s essential aisle and it’s now or never. I have been tired the last few weeks and at first thought I may be getting a cold or something. Then I woke up this morning and had to run straight to the toilet. It hit me then. I’m pregnant. I can’t help but wonder what Ben is going to think. I think he will be happy. These last six months together have been perfect; and lately, I’ve caught him rubbing my belly over and over. Maybe he knows already. Surely not.

I bite the bullet and when I get home, Ben is already there cooking dinner. I hide the package down in my purse and go to kiss my sweet, sexy man.

“Hey Baby. How you feeling today?”

“I’m ok. A little tired, but ok. Thanks for fixing dinner.”

“You’re welcome. I got you something today.”

My eyes light up. He is always surprising me with gifts. “What is it?”

He takes my hand and walks into the living room. He sits beside me and picks up a box off the end table. “Actually, it’s a present for the both of us.”

I look at his hand and I am shocked. It’s a pregnancy test. I can feel my face flame. “How did you know?”

“Because I know your body, Baby. And I have been imagining making a baby every time we fuck these last six months.”

He opens the box. “Two pink lines means you’re going to be a Mommy.”

I go to the restroom and about have to kick him out to do my business.

We sit on the bed waiting the three minutes for the results. “Is this why you’ve been rubbing my belly all the time?”

“Have I?” he asks with a smile.

  “Yes, all the time.”

  “I had an idea.”

I go back to get the test and walk back into the bedroom and sit on the bed next to him. I lift it up for both of us to see together.

I look over at Ben and he puts his arm around me. He has tears in his eyes. “You have made me the happiest man in the world. I love you, Hanna. And I am going to love all our babies.”

I stand up and remove my clothes.

“I’m also the luckiest man in the world.”

He latches onto my sensitive breast and we quit talking for a while.

  THE END

  Bricklayer

  Stone

I met Tara at her college campus. I’m a bricklayer by trade, but now I own my own company. She tells me she wants one night. I’ll give her that.

But once I get between her sweet thighs. She’s mine. I just have to convince her.

  Tara

I move too fast. My roommate tells me I need to date a little instead of moving from one relationship to another. Maybe she’s right….

But then I meet Stone. And he wants more than one night… he wants forever.

  Chapter 1

  Tara

“I’m giving up men, Amy.” I huff as I throw myself across the bed.

“Right, Tara. I’ve heard that before.” She says as she rolls her eyes at me. I ignore the eye rolling.

“I’m serious this time. I have an awful dating record. I always seem to find the losers. You know – the one’s that want to hit it, then quit it, or they quit it because I won’t let them hit it. Or the one that was dating three women, me included, at one time. This last one though was a doozy – he led me to believe he had it all together. Come to find out, he was living in his mother’s basement, no job, and had a video game addiction. I’m done. I’m going to focus on finishing school.”

“Tara, your problem is that you think every one of them may be the one. You need to just date. Have fun. Let sex be just sex. Quit having big relationships with men that are not worth it. Just because you go on one date does not mean you have to make it into a relationship.” Amy replied.

“Ugh, I know your right. I just don’t trust myself to make a good decision anymore, not when it comes to men. Maybe I do just need to date for a while. Nothing serious. Just have some fun.”

I lay my head back on the pillow and try to figure out how I got myself here, to this place. I’ve never been in love. I have been in lust, which has led me to my problems. I’m a twenty-one-year-old college student. I’m studying to be an architect. I’m smart, I’m confident, I’m pretty, even though some would say I have a big ass. My size fourteen self doesn’t hold me back from anything though. Hence, maybe that is my problem. I want something, I go after it, damn the consequences. But not anymore. Now, I am holding back. I’m putting my love life on hold.

Renewed with determination, I jump off the bed. I notice that Amy has went back to her studying. “I’m going for a run, Amy. You want to go?”

“No, thanks. I need to study. I have a big chemistry test tomorrow.”

  “Ok, see you later.”

I walk outside the dorm and stretch before starting my run. I throw my long brown hair up in a ponytail. I really enjoy running, or in my case, jogging. It helps me to stay in shape. Who am I kidding, it allows me to eat what I want. I’m not one of those girls that diet all the time. No, that’s not for me. I work out, so I can eat. And I really do enjoy jogging. It’s a great stress reliever. I take off jogging, heading to my favorite spot on campus… the fountain.

  Stone

Mike and I have worked all morning. We are repairing the fountain at Rod University. I’m a bricklayer by trade. Or I was. I’m thirty-two years old now and I don’t work in the field as much as I used to. I created my company from the ground up and these days I usually am managing it from an office somewhere. This week I’m working at the University, my alma mater. I donated the bricks and labor for this project. I could have sent one of my crews to do it, but it’s a small job, so I only brought Mike with me. It will probably take us less than a week to get it done. And I like getting out of the office. It’s been awhile since I ha
ve been able to.

“So, Stone, a bunch of us are going out tonight. You want to go?” Mike chuckles, but I instantly start shaking my head.

“No, I’m not interested. You know I never go out with you guys. Why do you keep asking?”

I chug a bottle of water. Breaks over. It’s a beautiful, warm day today. My shirt is clinging to me and I feel the sweat rolling down my back. If I wasn’t on a college campus, I would have been stripped down already. We continue laying bricks, but I get distracted by the pounding of feet on the pavement coming towards me.

“Maybe, I will ask her if she wants to go with me tonight…. damn, she is hot.” Mike stops working to watch in the distance.

“Mike, I’ve told you over and over you can’t say things like that on the job. You need to watch your mouth, that’s someone’s daughter…” In a blink, I rise to my full 6’ 4 height. I feel a rush of heat cross my body. I’m instantly pissed that Mike saw her first and is still staring at her. She’s jogging toward us and I can’t help but notice her perfection. She has curves for days. She has on tight jogging pants and fitted t shirt. Her ponytail swings back and forth as she runs towards me. Oh yeah, I am imagining that she is running towards me, although she is just following the path. As she gets near, I turn to Mike, “Get back to work.” I give him a look that says don’t mess with me on this and he goes to the other side of the fountain. I turn back to her and she stops right before me. I say stop, but she is jogging in place in front of me. I can’t decide what to focus on. Her beautiful, bountiful body bouncing before me or her face. Yes, I should focus on her face. I don’t want to be THAT guy.

Her eyes are a dark brown with hints of gold. I imagine looking into those eyes as her perfect, puffy lips wrap around my cock.

“Hey, are you redoing the fountain?” She asks me, while still bouncing up and down in front of me.

“Yes, we are just fixing the structure around the fountain, so it will be functional again.” I shift on my feet trying to will my rock-hard erection to go down. What is this girl doing to me?

“This is my favorite spot on campus. I’m glad your fixing it. I’m excited to see it again in working order.” She smiles up to me and her face lights up. I will do whatever I have to do to have her smile up at me like this again. I will put a fountain just like this in my bedroom if I thought it would get her there.

  “What’s your name, honey?”

“Tara, Tara Maples. What’s your name?”

“Stone.” And she chuckles at that.

“What’s so funny?” and I can’t help but laugh with her. She has a beautiful laugh.

“Your name is Stone…. And you work with bricks. It just caught me as funny.” I laugh at how cute she is.

“So, Tara, how about you let me take you out to dinner?”

She looks like she is about to shake her head yes, then her lips turn down. She shakes her head “no, sorry, I can’t.”

  Chapter 2

  Tara

What the fuck. Of course, fifteen minutes ago I am ranting to my roommate that I am giving up men and relationships, and then the most handsome hulk of a man asks me out. He’s older, at least early thirties. He’s enormous compared to my five feet six inch frame. I stop jogging and look him up and down. When I glance at his jeans, I swear I see a huge bulge and it’s twitching under his jeans. I glance back up into his eyes and he knows I saw it. His eyes are hooded with desire. He’s looking at me like he can devour me. I feel the sweat rolling down my back and my body gets even more heated from his stare.

He clinches his hands in front of him and asks me, “do you have a boyfriend?”

His jaw is gritted and only relaxes once I tell him, “no, not anymore.”

  “How about another night then?”

I want to say yes to him, but I already know I am way over my head with this one. I’m already picturing what our babies will look like. This is definitely not a good idea.

  “I really shouldn’t.”

He takes a step toward me, and grunts, “why not?”

He smells of sweat and man. His scent surrounds me, and I can’t help but be overpowered by it. He is all man; I doubt this man has ever played a video game in his life. He is built, his arms and chest massive. Can I just have fun with him? Nothing serious. Just go out and have fun… with a friend?

  “Do you want the truth?”

“Yes, only the truth from you, sweetness.” He is still standing right in front of me. I have to lean my neck back to look up at him.

“I just told my roommate not fifteen minutes ago that I was swearing off men. If I say yes to you, then my word doesn’t mean much then does it.”

“Why are you swearing off men for? Has someone hurt you?” He frowns at me.

“Nothing like that, I have the worst track record in picking men.” I start to back away from him and tell him, “so unless you just want to be friends, I’m going to have to say no.”

I start to jog in place again, preparing to take off jogging and he stops my bounce with a hand on my shoulder. I feel the electric currents flow through my arm; his touch like a current flowing through my body. I feel the pooling of desire instantly between my legs and I know I should pull away from him, but I can’t. His eyes are wide when I look from his hand on my shoulder to his face. Yes, he feels it to.

“Ok. Let’s be friends.” He runs his hand down my arm and latches onto my hand.

“You want to be my friend?” I ask him unbelievably.

He steps closer to me, like he can’t stand the thought of me getting away from him. “Oh, Sweetness, I want to be a whole lot more than your friend, but if that’s all you want, I will take it.”

“So we go out tonight… as friends, no funny business?”

“I promise, just friends and I won’t kiss you… unless you ask me to.” He’s looking at my lips and I know my lips are not safe around him. He is looking at me like he wants to ravage them.

“Ok, sure, we can go out… as friends.”

I give him my number. He tries to give me his, but I don’t have my phone on me.

“It’s not safe for you to be running without your phone. What if you needed help? For now on, carry your phone with you.” He admonishes me.

I roll my eyes at him and tell him where my dorm is. “I’ll see you tonight, Stone.”

“I’ll pick you up at your dorm at seven.” He steps up to me and wraps his arms around me. Both our bodies are wet from sweat and being out in the heat. I put my arms around him and tuck my head into his chest. I breathe him in. His whole body is hard, and I feel his swollen, erect penis pressing into my belly. “I’ll see you later, friend.” And he kisses the top of my head.

I pull away from him, stunned by the feelings I am having right now. Damn. Can I do this. Can I just be his friend?

I tell him bye and start jogging back to the dorm… and the shower. I need a good, cold shower.

  Chapter 3

  Tara

I spent most of the afternoon talking to Amy about my dilemma. I know if I go out with Stone tonight, I am not going to be able to resist him. I have never felt attraction like that before. I still get all hot and bothered even now just thinking about him. Amy’s advice was to just go for it. But don’t let myself get hurt. Just go into it as a good time, it’s not forever, don’t turn it into a relationship… have fun being single and playing the field a little.

I forgot to ask Stone where we are going tonight. I dress in a sundress and bring a short sleeve cardigan in case it gets cold. I leave my hair down and buckle my three-inch wedges on my feet. I grab my purse and go outside to sit on the front stoop of the dorm. I see my friend, Todd, from one of my classes and we chat about the upcoming test we have next week. I came downstairs fifteen minutes before Stone is supposed to be here, so I have time to waste. Still talking to Todd, I see Stone is walking towards us. Damn, the man is hot. His brown hair is short with a little bit of gray mixed in, he has beautiful brown eyes with the longest eyelashes
I have ever seen on a man. I peruse his body as he comes closer and realize the man is hard all over, from his large muscled arms to his tree trunk legs. My panties are already moist when he is still forty feet away from me. The women he walks by as he’s coming towards me stop to admire him. But he doesn’t even give them a second glance. He is staring straight at me. He’s got a frown on his face, and he has a fiery look in his eyes. I tell Todd bye, and walk towards Stone. The closer I get to him, the more his face relaxes. Was he jealous of me talking to Todd? Fuck. I’m not even going to go there.

We stop walking when we get right in front of each other. His hand instantly goes to hold mine. “How you doing, Sweetness?”

“I’m good. I wasn’t sure where we are going. Am I dressed alright?”

“You are perfect. You look beautiful.” He tucks a piece of hair behind my ear.

The whole ride to the restaurant, he holds my hand. I asked him if he holds all his friends hands and he just smiles at me, squeezing my hand tighter. He takes me to an Italian restaurant ten minutes from the college. Once we are seated, we talk about his company. I had assumed he was a bricklayer. I had no idea he owned the whole company. He talked about how he has never been married and he just hasn’t found the right woman yet. He tells me about his sister, and how she is going through some stuff with her husband. I tell him about college and wanting to be an architect. I tell him about my history with men and how I don’t trust myself to make the right decisions with men anymore.

Once the food arrives, we eat in comfortable silence. The food is really good, but I can barely eat. My stomach is in knots sitting before him. He hasn’t touched me since we set down and I miss his touch.

“What’s on your mind, Sweetness?” He asks me.

I question whether I should tell him my decision I made, but instead I ask him, “why do you call me Sweetness?”

  “You don’t want to know.”
