The Irishman: Book 1 (For The Love Of The Irish) Page 14

  Andrew- The Irishman

My son was healthy. Strong. And smart as a whip.

My daughter was beautiful. Smarter than her brother. And deaf.

At six months the final test had been done and it had all been confirmed. Kyra, my baby, my woman, my K-Love, had taken it in stride and asked the doctor what we needed to know and what changes needed to be made to our home(s) to make them more accessible. Everyone had to learn sign language. All of my men and all of her women. Everyone who worked for and with us were taking courses.

My princess would never feel limited. I wouldn’t allow it. I would twist the entire world inside out so she would feel as if she belonged.

I watched AJ and Drea as they sat on a blanket in the backyard with their mother, playing with blocks and laughing, my heart pounding hard with love. I relished moments like these. They were few and far in between. And things had been too quiet on the streets. Ludwig hadn’t returned, though he’d sent updates, and everyone was getting antsy. We hadn’t even been able to find Charlene. It all made my skin feel a little too fucking tight.

Something was coming. It was big. And I wasn’t sure we were ready. When a shadow passed over me and I looked up and saw Nia and Carrick’s face, I knew that whatever it was…

  It was finally here.

  Nia- The Baby

Carrick and I thought we’d been so careful in Morocco. Then again, we thought we’d been careful when we’d first started sleeping together. But my very reason for going to Morocco in the first place had found me. And he was not happy.

My biological grandfather thought my mother had aborted me. To him I was an abomination. I wasn’t supposed to be alive. I threatened his empire. His life. When he met me in Morocco, he tried to have me killed. It was only Carrick’s arrival, and his quick thinking, marrying me while we were there, that saved my life.

  But time had run out.

My grandfather had found out who I was. My real name. And he was coming for me.

Coming to have me killed. Just like he’d killed my mother and father.

  “Drew? We need to talk.”

  THE END

  *AUTHOR’S NOTE:

I KNOW you guys hate when I do these cliffhangers! I wish I could say I won’t do anymore but… I’d be lying. The next book in the series can be any of the couples mentioned, or it could be more of Andrew and Kyra. I just won’t know until I get started. Sorry (I wish I knew!) But Kyra and Andrew did get an HFN. And until this series is over, I can promise you that each couple that is featured in each book will at least get that.
