  ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

While writing is often a solitary endeavor, publishing a book is an act of community. I am deeply grateful to all who have been a part of this journey. Special thanks are due to Cory Allyn, Jeremy Lassen, Oren Eades, Paula Guran, my marvelous editor, and Mark Gottlieb, my agent. I am indebted to Sita Saxe, Melina Selverston-Scher, and Benjamin Thompson for their invaluable comments. Finally, I offer homage to the Muse for gifting me this story and letting me share it with readers.

TINA LECOUNT MYERS is a writer, artist, independent historian, and surfer. Born in Mexico to expat-bohemian parents, she grew up on Southern California tennis courts with a prophecy hanging over her head; her parents hoped she’d one day be an author. Tina has a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She lives in San Francisco with her adventurer husband and two loud Siamese cats.
