Detoured by Love Page 12

by David Horne

Lewis smiled warmly and planted a gentle kiss on Brett’s lips.

  “Impossible,” he said softly.

“Well aren’t you all peaches and cream?” Brett giggled.

Lewis smiled. “My aunt used to say that.”

He turned back to his journal and put the tip of the pen back on the paper.

A wise man once said that sometimes things have to fall apart to make way for better things. I loved my aunt, more than I can put into words. But when she died, I got a farm. On that farm, I met the love of my life. I met Brett Evans. All I know is this—if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Because everything about him, from his hair to his toes, is Absolutely Gorgeous.
