“Your tribe heads can serve as your nobles” Jennings said. “Your father always dreamt of you running the Cliffs and now you have your chance. Even Ashlyn wants you to have the job.”

“You are insane, I am no King” Rell said.

“Yes you are,” Ashlyn said. “I believe in you Rell.”

“What does that mean for you?” Rell asked. “You will be branded a traitor.”

“I can always go back and say I was held against my will,” Ashlyn said.

“Your Majesty,” Jennings said looking at Rell. “You can get the Cliffs under your control then start pushing the Voxians out. Why not expand what we have here once we prove we can hold it? King Wayne will be angry but there will be little he can do.”

“That would be war on three different fronts” Rell said.

“That is far in the future after we have established these lands,” Jennings said. “Your father always dreamed of becoming a king. I know the Cliffs isn't much of a kingdom but we can make it that way. Work the Balenians we capture to build this place into what we know it can be.”

“Denali needs to hear of this,” Rell said.

“Denali is busy repelling any Balenian attempt to take the pass,” Everest said. “He will hear of it eventually and agree with your man Jennings. The mountain tribes all wanted you back, you were the reason we came together in the first place.”

“You also give the charmcasters hope,” Tenkay said. “Can I be the Arch Charmcaster or some other fancy title? A kingdom where charmcasters are revered is exactly the type of place I want to be a part of. Nothing against you personally, Lady Ashlyn.”

  “This is madness,” Rell said.

“No Rellik, this is the future,” Everest said. “If things go south we can always run back to the mountain. Enemies may be able to take the bottom of it and climb a little ways but the higher up you go the deadlier it is. We have nothing to lose from at least trying.”

“I can work with your mountain people to get the logistics worked out” Jennings said. “I served your grandfather, your father and now you. I always wondered if I gave your father correct council when I told him to give you up. Now that I find myself here I know that was the right decision to make.”

Thank you reader for going on this journey with me and Rell. This idea has been playing around in my head for a little while and I finally finished it. By the time you read this you should already know there is a second part to the Knight Mage and the Mage of Mages. What you probably didn't know was that the Lightning Mage which will be coming out soon is a prequel to the Knight Mage. I read my reviews and I know it is infuriating to most of you to read a story of mine and wonder if a sequel is ever coming. I get sidetracked easily, I will start on a sequel and then another idea will strike me and I will go down that rabbit hole only to have another idea hit me followed by another. It gets to be so many that I often have nine or ten books going at once and some of them never get finished. I am trying to wrangle all of my unfinished books and finally complete them before I do anything else. I have started on Audible and plan on putting out a few of the books I have already written on there as well. Any feedback you have I would appreciate and you can always reach me at [email protected].

Finally I would like to thank Ms. Lisa Jett and Mr. Bill Angus. Ms. Jett is the reason I do not have many hanging storylines anymore and Mr. Angus is the reason you do not see a bunch of typos. Without the both of them none of this would be possible.
