Fallen Ambitions Page 32

by Guy S. Stanton III

  *****

I stepped out into the morning sunlight. I headed west, as it was in that direction that Colorado lay, but with each step I hoped for the instantaneous transfer that I had experienced earlier today when I had been delivered from the jail.

I walked down the center of the empty street as I felt opposed to the litter strewn sidewalks to either side. There were no cars, but if there had been, what a sight they would’ve seen.

I was fully equipped for war to say the least. Conversationally a voice broke into my thoughts, “You certainly know how to come dressed for a garden party.”

I stopped and slowly turned to face the man, who stood beside me, in a crisp cream and yellow tinted suit. He had blonde slicked back hair and a clean-shaven face that spoke of both honor and fortitude.

His eyes were obscured from view by a pair of dark aviator sunglasses. Intrinsically I knew that he was the most dangerous individual I’d ever come in contact with.

Slowly, as if uncertain of the efficacy of the question I asked, I said, “Who are you and why are you following me?”

“The name is Denaleal and I’ve come to help.” As he spoke he dipped his aviators down slightly and what I saw for eyes was a vision of fire laced orbs of light that echoed of a righteous soul not originally created of this world.

Overcome I stepped back as I uttered out, “You are angel?”

“That I am.” He said, as the aviators slid back into place, along with a smile that warmed the morning as he said, “Relax I’m on your side. Shall we go on?” He said with a gesture to the street ahead.

I looked to the way that he gestured to, as he said further, “We wouldn’t want to be late for the garden party now would we.”

I glanced at Denaleal and somehow found myself feeling much better about the present circumstances of the situation at hand in regards to rescuing Desirée.

“No I would not.” I said and we both started walking.

Glancing over to him I found myself asking, “Are you one of those who guards over Desirée?”

“No, I am not. They remain by her side. No, I have a different purpose.”

Normally I’m not one to pry, but the situation had undone my normal mindset so much so that I found myself openly asking, “And what is that?”

Denaleal glanced to me and said, “Why to walk into battle with you as I am doing right now. You see I’m your guardian angel Victor.”

I stopped dead on the street, as I felt overcome with emotion. Denaleal stopped too.

Pointing to myself I asked to hopefully clarify the astonishment that I felt within me at his words, “Me?”

  “Yes Victor, you.”

“How can it be?” I burst out with before adding, “I am but a recent spark flared into a fledgling fire! Why would my God honor me so as to have one such as you placed by my side?”

“The Father gives favor to whomever He chooses. Do not think it odd what has come upon you as a chosen calling. What has Scripture to tell you in the form of one Paul of Tarsus. He was even such a man as you in his former life, a killer of saints and a persecuting force against all that was holy. So do not think it strange as to how the Father, in His good wisdom, has sought to draw you to Him now. He knows the end from the beginning and truly I say to you that life for you, Desirée and all those who believe in the risen Son, has only just begun. Come, let us be to the fight, as those found worthy by the Father in humbleness of spirit, for even so He will receive the greater honor for what is to come about this day!”

Denaleal urged me on and I started to walk again, as even under my breath I whispered awestruck praises to my Creator, so in awe I was that He would seek such a personal relationship with me as to provide His best to whom deserved it least.

“Victor…… Victor, listen now to Me.”

I ceased from praising as I listened to the voice from within.

“I know you son. You are Mine. A fitting offspring of My Spirit. A vessel I built as a thing crafted to that of honor. They hurt you and yet I am able to remake you again. Now step into the life that I purposed for you from the beginning and be a champion in the faith found through the redemptive act of my Son, Yeshua, that has now perfected you to be worthy of My presence in your life from this day forward and forever.”

I wished to do nothing else in life but to obey the Voice that I would do anything for. He was my God and I was all His. In my step forward I spanned far more than the space of a stride.

As if in the background I heard Denaleal shout with the cry of a warrior excited to be one and bound forward to span across the distances that my stride of faith had taken me. Lights too many to count glazed past my eyes and sound flashed aloud in a symphony too complex to comprehend as a journey from reality into a different dimension became its own setting of focus.

All about me was strange to my sight and alien to my understanding and yet my feet walked forward guided from beyond my ability to reckon. The enemy was here and the sight of so much grotesqueness of spirit was enough to stop the heart, but my God had brought me here so even so it was to be within His plan in that I trusted that there would be victory.

“Son of My promise and heir of My Kingdom that is to come look and see.”

I did see. All the way back through time and space to the very spot where they had hidden my love from me. Fury roiled through me at the sight I saw and I would have roared if it was not that I stood as one under the authority of my Master and not that of my own will.

“You do well to be angered for even so am I! The days have come whereupon the war has been pressed onto those I hold most dearly, even so I will give an answer. I have been slow to measure out judgment and yet My anger has built, as My holy people are slain all the day long. In the days to come I shall pour out My Set-Apart Spirit like never before. These are the times of which it was foretold and swift will My actions be! I am a just God and so let judgment be to who judgment falls upon and yet I am merciful and so to whomever will hear and confess the name of my Son, Yeshua, as Lord and Master, then to them I will allow my mercy and favor to fall. Into this war I send those I have raised and set apart from the ways of the world to do my bidding and behold they shall show forth signs and wonders as never before! My Set-Apart Spirit is not overcome and My hand is not too short to save those who have put their trust in Me. Though perilous times have come, even so it must be in order to fulfill the Word that I have spoken and now I speak fire into you man that I crafted out of Mine own image. Let not your hand rest or your fury be quenched for it is I that am your strength! It is I that goes before you into battle! It is I who will be praised! It is by My Son’s blood alone that you stand before Me in the midst of My holiness, for I am holy, and there is none other before Me! Now go and destroy all that which is appointed for destruction. By My Son’s grace you walk in favor and through My good pleasure you will have victory this day! Sound the cry for war and let the saints rejoice for what has been foretold is coming to pass and few be the days that are left, until My throne and abode will be with men forevermore.”

I needed no further urging. In this realm beyond my own I had no use of what devices I had strapped down to be of use in such a war as this and yet I had need of none of it.

A sword, not my own, sprang to life within my grasp and I attacked with all my being against the forces of darkness soon destined to not be of any heavenly realm ever again. Where I was in time and space I did not know other than that I was within God’s plan.

I was not alone in this war. Not just Denaleal, who had turned into a flaming minister of fire, but everywhere from all walks of life I saw them. Others like me and yet different from me were all embroiled in the same fight that I was. Some more so and others less and yet I could see there was a strong remnant of believers just the same.

Despite everything the enemy had achieved in the hearts and courts of men there was a remnant worldwide that resisted and called on no other name, but the Father, and in a plea through His Son and by the Set
-Apart Spirit all of the remnant were of one accord. A chapter in the Old Testament book of Psalms, that I had read in my midnight readings, as Desirée had slept came to life all around me now,

  Psalms 18, KJV

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

  With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
