Bull’s face dropped and his cheeks colored a bit. “Of course, yeah. I didn’t…ah, think it through. I should probably get you back, anyway.”
There was no way to miss his disappointment, his embarrassment, and God, I hated it. He turned away from me and started packing everything up.
“Rain check?”
His big shoulders heaved up and down. “Yeah, sounds good.”
I moved behind him. “I had a really great time today…and last night.”
He turned. “Me, too.”
“I’m looking forward to doing it again,” I said.
His chocolate eyes darkened. “Me, too.”
Wow, his voice had grown deeper and there was this hungry look in his eyes. I loved that I had that effect on him and found it unbelievable at the same time. I still couldn’t believe he wanted me back.
“You think anyone can see us out here?” I whispered.
“No,” he rumbled.
“Good.” I pulled off my gloves and reached for the front of his pants, popping open the button and lowering the zipper.
His nostrils flared, like a…well, like a bull. It was sexy. Everything about Bull was sexy.
“What are you doing?” he said.
“Giving you something to remember me by.” I massaged his already hard cock though his boxers.
“Fuck, Quinn…”
“I want to give you something nice to think about when you’re alone in your bed tonight.”
He growled softly as I took his hard length in my hand and squeezed. “Has anyone ever sucked your beautiful cock out here on this boat?”
He shook his head, big body seeming to vibrate, chest pumping harder.
“Do you want me to?”
Bull
Say no. Say no. “Fuck yes.”
Quinn smiled up at me, wicked and beautiful and tempting as all hell, and I’d never wanted anything more than to feel her gorgeous lips on my dick. Being the gentleman that I was, I grabbed an old blanket I had stored under one of the seats and tossed it on the bottom of the boat.
Then I watched, close to hyperventilating, as Quinn lowered to her knees in front of me.
“Hmm, I think we have a bit of a problem here,” she said, looking up at me.
Yeah, we did. I was too damn tall.
“Sit over there,” she said, lightly pushing me toward the seat behind me.
I did instantly, shoving my pants lower while I was at it. Right then I would have done anything she wanted.
I sat back and she moved the blanket, then crawled up between my spread thighs.
Freezing air blew over my dick, but that did nothing to calm the fucker down. Quinn wrapped her fingers, still warm from her gloves, around my now painfully hard length and slid up to the fat head and back down to the root.
“God, you’re so big,” she said. “I’ve never been with a man so big…”
I took her chin in my hand and shook my head. “Don’t want to think about any other man looking at you, let alone fucking you, Quinn.”
She blinked up at me. I’d surprised her. But there was only so much holding back I could do. Imagining anyone but me anywhere near her made me insane, and I was pretty sure after the way she’d reacted to seeing me with Lynette last night, she got where I was coming from.
Her eyes softened and she apologized by leaning in and wrapping her lips around the head of my cock and sucking me down as far as she could.
I bit out a curse, my hand going to the woolen hat she was wearing and pulling it off so I could shove my fingers in her hair.
She fisted the base, since she couldn’t take all of me, working it in her hot hand in time with her sucking pulls.
I groaned. Christ, that felt good.
Every time she slid up, cool air hit my dick, and then her warm mouth would come back down, and because of the cold air, her mouth felt hot.
I’d never felt anything like it. Hot, cold. Hot, cold. It was fucking amazing, and when she released me with a pop and held my cock up while she sucked the underside, licking the bulging veins all the way down to my aching balls and sucked on them as well, I almost lost it completely.
I barked out a curse. “Fuck, Quinn. Fucking hell.” I was muttering nonsense at this point, but I didn’t give a shit.
Then she was back at the tip, taking me in deep again. When she started moving faster, jerking the base in time with her hot mouth moving over me, it was all over.
“Gonna come, sweets.” I managed to get out the warning, but she kept right on sucking. My ass clenched and my fist tightened on her hair, then I was coming, groaning and grunting, and fuck me, whimpering. I’d never whimpered in my damn life. “Don’t stop, baby, please don’t stop.”
She didn’t. She stayed right there, eyes lifted to me, watching me watch her as I lost my shit completely, working me with her sexy-as-fuck mouth until I had nothing left.
When she finally released my dick after one last suck, making me jolt, she carefully tucked it back in my boxers. She stood, grabbed her hat from the seat beside me, and tugged it back down on her head.
“I think you liked that,” she said, smirking.
“What gave it away?” I said, still panting.
“Might have been when you started whimpering.” She climbed into my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck, coming in for a cuddle. “I’m pretty sure that’s the sign of a great blow job.”
“Christ,” I muttered and shoved her face against my neck when her smile turned into a wicked grin, hiding my own. “A man whimpers once…”
She started giggling, and, yeah, I fucking liked that. “More than once.”
“Hey, it’s the sign of a man comfortable with his own manliness,” I said, fighting my own laugh. “If you think about it, that makes me even manlier than the average man. Like I’m extra man…or a super man.” I squeezed her ass. “Woman, you just sucked off Superman.”
She lost it then, laughing so hard she was shaking.
I pulled her in tight, buried my face in her soft hair, and joined her.
Chapter Fifteen
Bull
The bar wasn’t too busy, a handful of tables occupied. Dane was there, too, hanging out at The Mule like he often did.
“Two vodka and oranges and three Bud Lights,” Quinn said, leaning on the scarred wooden surface between us, glancing over her shoulder at a table full of women.
I got her drinks and did my best not to stare at her too hard. Damn, she was pretty. Her black hair was up high on her head, and she was wearing a blue shirt that buttoned down the front and fit her like a second skin. The color made her gray eyes even more vibrant.
Her jeans were the ones I loved and also hated, the ones with the roses on the ass. Loved because she looked sexy as hell in them, and hated because every guy she passed couldn’t stop themselves from checking her out.
Or maybe that was me being paranoid and, yeah, probably a jealous dick as well.
She glanced across the room at that same table of women again. They came in here a lot. Quinn knew them from school though they were a couple of years younger. They were friendly, not that close, but always talked and shared a joke or two with Quinn when they came in. Everyone knew everyone in this town.
“What’s going on?”
“Laney’s upset. Duncan cheated on her,” Quinn said, not meeting my eyes. “I mean, I’d seen him try it on with other women in here, hell, even me once or twice…” She swallowed convulsively, like her mouth was dry…or shit, like she was reliving her own unhappy memories. “I hate seeing her like that. He doesn’t deserve her pain and hurt. He doesn’t deserve one single tear.”
Yeah, this was most definitely cutting too close to the bone.
“Duncan’s a fucking piece of shit, always has been,” Dane said when Quinn left to deliver her drinks.
I watched her walk across the room then glance back at Laney. As soon as she finished dropping off her order, she headed back over there. Quinn touched Laney’s shoulder and leane
d down, saying something to her. Laney wiped her eyes. Her friends sitting at the table were trying to comfort her, and Quinn, who knew exactly what the other woman was going through, was trying to do the same.
A moment later Quinn was striding back to the bar. “Six shots of whiskey.”
“You sure that’s a good idea?” I said, because high emotion and alcohol never mixed well; I knew that from personal experience. I also owned a bar.
Quinn looked at me, eyes bright, intense, and determined. “Yes, it’s a very good idea. Six shots of whiskey.”
I poured the drinks because I could see she needed to do this—it was there in her eyes—and, yeah, my girl wasn’t in the mood for my heavy-handed shit and I’d give her anything she wanted. I poured the drinks and loaded them onto her tray.
“Put them on my tab,” she said and strode back to Laney’s table. Quinn said something to her and got a laugh in return while Laney wiped her eyes again and the whole table joined in. They all grabbed a shot, including Quinn, and downed them, hooting and slamming the glasses down.
Dane shifted in his seat, facing the table from his barstool. I couldn’t look away either as Quinn strode to the jukebox that was currently silent and punched in the code she wanted.
A song started, the opening notes filling the bar, and Laney and her friends shot to their feet and cheered then proceeded to sing along with it at the top of their lungs, Quinn with them.
I couldn’t look away as they sang loudly about fucking up their cheating ex’s truck.
“I don’t know whether to be turned on or terrified,” Dane said beside me.
Her goal accomplished, Quinn grabbed her tray and left them singing.
She turned back to me and grinned, and I couldn’t help but grin back like a cheesy bastard. I wanted to kiss her so damn bad right then and ease the pain I saw in her eyes that she was trying to hide behind that blinding smile.
“Work the bar?” I said to Dane.
He nodded without question and came around to cover for me. When I had Quinn’s gaze on me, I tilted my head to the back, toward my office, and strode ahead.
She walked in a minute after me, eyes bright, breathing heavily and trembling.
“Come here, sweets,” I muttered.
She came, running right into my arms, and I lifted her, kissing her hard and deep, at the same time kicking the office door shut and flicking the lock. Quinn deserved to be worshiped. Her ex-fiancé needed his head examined for letting her go. No one compared to the woman in my arms. No one.
I didn’t give a fuck about me right then, only her, only Quinn. Making her feel good was all I had to give her, all she’d take from me.
And when I spoke, I sounded needy as hell, because I goddamn was. “Wanna make you come, sweets. Need to make you feel good.”
She nodded, hands shaking as she undid her jeans. “Yes.”
It was all she said as I shoved them down the rest of the way, along with her underwear, and took her with me to the couch. I dropped on my back to the padded cushions and dragged her up my body. “Sit on my face, baby,” I growled as I lifted her before she could follow my order, bringing her sweet, sweet pussy down on my mouth. Just like the dream I’d had when I stayed on her couch, but so much better because this was reality and now she was mine.
Christ, she tasted so damn good. I lapped her up, taking her little clit between my lips and gently sucking then licking it and sucking it again.
Quinn fisted my hair as she looked down at me, rocking and grinding against me. With my hands on her ass, gripping all that warm flesh, I kept her where I wanted her, working her with my mouth and tongue until her breath started to hitch and her moans got more insistent.
Until she jerked and shuddered against me, coming against my mouth. I growled, licking her all up, positive I could never get enough of her, no matter how long I had her. My dick was impossibly hard, but I ignored it. Quinn was all I cared about.
Finally, she eased back and looked down at me, her gray eyes glistening, so fucking beautiful she made my gut ache.
I reached up, touched the side of her face, and grinned. “I think you just incited a riot, or at the very least some truck vandalism.”
“Nothing he doesn’t deserve,” she said, voice husky, eyes still bright.
“Fucker deserves whatever he gets,” I agreed. “You ever do anything like that?” My curiosity had gotten the better of me.
Her cheeks were still flushed from coming moments ago, and when she twisted her mouth to the side, she looked so beautiful and sweet I wanted to pull her down and kiss her.
“I’m not proud of myself, but I may have cut the crotches out of all Bevan’s work suits, and the one and only set of keys to his beloved 1970 Ford Mustang may have ended up in a dumpster.” She twisted her mouth again. “Do you think I’m terrible?”
I couldn’t help it; I wrapped my arms around her and laughed.
Her eyes were dancing when I pulled myself together, and she was smiling down at me.
“Nah, baby, served the asshole right,” I said, still chuckling.
She cupped the side of my face, fingers against my beard. “Thank you,” she whispered and gave me what I desperately wanted—she kissed me.
“Don’t need to thank me,” I rasped when she lifted her head again.
Christ, it was me who should have been thanking her.
I didn’t think I’d ever stop thanking her.

Quinn
I glanced up the street toward The Thirsty Mule as I climbed out of my car, hoping for just a tiny glimpse of Bull. I’d taken some time off to spend with my brother while he was in town. I’d never seen him so broken up. I didn’t like to leave him on his own. But he was heading back to Portland tomorrow.
I’d miss him a lot and worry, but I was also desperate to spend some quality time with Bull.
I hadn’t seen him or touched him in two days, but it felt like a heck of a lot longer. What we did in his office the last time I’d been with him, how he’d known Laney’s pain had brought back my own. How he’d just known that I’d needed him.
The way he’d pulled me up so I straddled his face.
It was all I could think about.
Heat washed over me, and with my head turned toward the bar again, I managed to trip up the curb.
Mason’s arm came around my shoulder, steadying me before steering me toward the diner.
“Easy there, brat.”
I elbowed him in the ribs as we walked in. “How’s the head today?”
Mason dragged a hand through his hair. “Yeah, okay. The pain’s dulled down from a jackhammer against my skull to mind-thumping agony behind the temples. Pretty good, all things considered.”
“Have you considered not getting wasted every night?” We took our seats and I waved to June behind the counter.
“I have, yeah, every morning when I wake up feeling like shit…then I remember that my wife would rather be alone than with me and won’t be my wife for much longer, and what do you know, drinking doesn’t sound that bad after all,” he muttered, voice deep and rough.
I reached over and took his hand. “I’m so sorry it didn’t work out, Mase, but you can’t keep doing this to yourself. You have to promise me when you get home you’ll stop this.”
He gave me a self-deprecating smile. “I’ve got it out of my system. You don’t need to worry.”
I didn’t believe him, not one bit. “Can you take some more time off work? Stay here a little longer.” Yes, I wanted to see Bull, but I also hated the idea of Mason alone in his apartment, drinking himself numb every night.
He tapped his finger on the table. “I need to get back, keep busy, you know?” He sat back in his seat. “Enough about me. I’m more interested in this guy you’re seeing. A guy you open doors for in your underwear.”
His steady gaze made me shift in my seat. I forced a chuckle even as my belly squirmed. “It’s just casual, nothing serious. I’m definitely not ready for s
erious…or permanent.” And that was the truth. The idea of getting into something more lasting, made me break out in a rash. Being with Bull was easy, fun—God, exciting.
I didn’t think Mase would be thrilled to know my hookup guy was his best friend, or maybe he’d be fine but he’d read too much into it. Either way was a good enough reason to keep it to myself and why he’d never find out. He didn’t need to.
Things would fizzle out between Bull and me soon enough—I thought about kneeling in front of him, making that huge body of his quake with my mouth and tongue, of him lying back on his couch and pulling me up his body, and heat washed through me again. I shoved those thoughts right back out. Of course it would fizzle out. Desire, lust, always did.
Then someone got hurt.
But I didn’t have to worry about that with Bull.
No one would be the wiser. Bull and I would go back to the way we were: friends. Simple.
Mason kept that probing cop stare of his aimed at me. “I don’t want to see you get hurt again, brat.”
“I’m not going to get hurt.” I’d make sure of it. You couldn’t get hurt when you’d sworn off love and romantic relationships, right?
“Are you happy back here?” he asked. “You don’t get lonely?”
“This feels like home, you know? It was what I needed.”
“When are you moving back to Portland?” he asked.
“I’m not sure…soon.” My belly clenched just thinking about leaving. Of going back to my old life, alone. I shook off those thoughts quickly. This was never meant to be permanent.
“You don’t want to?” he said, gaze steady.
I fidgeted with my napkin. “I’m just nervous, I guess, of going back when there’s so many memories, bad ones, you know?”
Mase looked out the window. “Do you ever think about staying here for good?”
I had, a lot, but that had never been the plan. I had an apartment, a job waiting for me when I was ready. “Are you thinking of moving back?”
