“Extracurricular activities? Please, don’t tell me they spend their evenings popping the kneecaps off snitches or… whatever.”

Bile rises up. I should get used to the sensation, but I can’t. My mind keeps going back to summer camp, asking “why?” over and over, and I don’t have a good answer to give it, to make peace with my own reasoning.

Kyle smirks. “I’m not sure. Maybe. It’s all rumors, anyway.”

Silence settles between us, as the rest of the class, minus The Hotshots, pours in. They’re still giggling and passing jokes, while I’m already contemplating the afternoon. Once everybody leaves, I’ll take an hour or two to clean out my locker and put a new padlock on. I’ll file a complaint with the principal, too. I won’t mention names or anything, but it’s good to have some things for the record, just in case. You never know, and I hate myself for thinking that.

Prestley and the others shoot me quick glances, but they don’t say anything. Good. I think Kellan’s message got across, loud and clear. They’re trying to brand me as the school slut. Well, whoop-tee-doo, because this time next year, I’ll be in college, studying political sciences and planning my career. Ten years from now, one of them will be fetching my coffee, while the others will watch me on TV on the campaign trail. I’ll show them. I’ll show all of them.

“Elly…” Kyle murmurs, seated in front of me. The teacher isn’t here yet. If Gingersnap doesn’t start class in fifteen minutes, we’re probably getting a substitute, which usually means a relaxed first hour. I’d rather be kept busy with class, though, so I don’t have the chance to think about The Hotshots and their latest “masterpiece.”

  “Hm?”

“You wanna tell me more about summer camp?” he asks. “You’re taking this too hard. I mean, you clearly have some feelings for these guys. I won’t say a word to anyone, I promise… I… I just wanna understand why they’re hurting you so much, if that makes sense.”

I let a deep sigh out, resting my head on my hand. “It does. It’s just kind of hard to explain it all,” I say. “Maybe if I pick out the highlights, you’ll get it.”

Bracing myself for the story, I dig deeper into my memories of the summer past. My heart beats a little faster, as I take my stroll down that sunny lane, where nothing was shitty, and everything was going to be okay. Where Rhett, Gage and Kellan were not my worst nightmare, but the hunky embodiments of my most beautiful dreams.

Kyle had a point. He did need to understand what The Hotshots I’d met were like. Maybe then, he too, will be shocked by everything they’ve done from the moment I set foot in Trinity High. Maybe he, too, will ask the same questions I’ve been haunted by.

Back in Summer Camp, Day 10

We’re on the lakeside again, skipping the day’s activities. By now, the camp managers have gotten used to us not being around except for the meals and the roll call, but they don’t bother with dragging our asses back, either. Rhett has made it pretty clear that we’re simply “too old for this shit,” and they’ve reluctantly accepted the reasoning.

Today is different though, and I’m not liking it much.

It’s not just me and The Hotshots anymore. Five seniors have joined—late arrivals to summer camp, all females and not the kind I’d be able to have a conversation with. Fresh from a joint eighteenth birthday hangover, they’re still overly sensitive to sunlight and hiding beneath large sunglasses. I don’t remember their names and have no intention of memorizing them, since I doubt I’ll be seeing them again after this summer.

But I’ve assigned them easy nicknames, based on a few things that stand out. Bangles has an affinity for huge earrings that clink whenever she moves her head. She’s got the hots for Gage. Frizz is coming down from a terrible perm, struggling to keep that broom-end hair in place with several hair ties. Orbit has an obsession for minty chewing gum, and she annoys the hell out of me—Gage doesn’t dislike her, though, since she’s also partial to ridiculously short jeans.

Belladonna is a Goth chick who somehow wound up hanging with the “cool girls,” pearly white and maybe a little too handsy around Rhett, who pays no attention to her whatsoever. There’s something overly kinky about her, and, not to my surprise, anyway, she’s drawn Gage’s eye. Tube Sock is the worst. Cheerleader type. Wears tube socks with her short skirts, causing masturbatory dreams for at least half of the camp’s junior and sophomore male population. She thinks she’s too hot for anybody, though, including The Hotshots. She’s also the leader of the pack, from what I can tell.

Gage is trying to be nice, sharing his flask with the girls. Tube Sock has to be the first to take a swig, every time.

“Why do you keep hogging it?” Belladonna moans in protest.

“Because I need to make sure they’re not roofying us!” Tube Sock replies, then shoots the guys a cold, death stare.

It makes Kellan laugh. “We don’t need to resort to such shitty tactics, chill out, Mandy.”

Mandy. Of course. Nope, I’ll stick with Tube Sock. It’s more… accurate. I’m sitting on my usual tree stump, texting Brenda. I miss her like crazy. It’s a shame she couldn’t make it this summer. She’d have been in for a beautiful surprise. Giggling to myself, I don’t even notice that Rhett is watching me like a hawk until I look up.

  “What?” I ask him.

Orbit takes out a Bluetooth speaker and connects it to her phone, putting some music on. It’s a mini party in the woods, I guess. Thankfully, all the camp people are on the other side of the lake, keeping tabs on fifty high school lemmings who are still fighting their own hormones.

Rhett shrugs. “Nothing. You’re not very social today, Elly.”

Looking at the girls, I’m hoping he can see why. Gage settles in the grass, between Tube Sock and Belladonna, while Frizz drools over Kellan. Orbit and Bangles are currently undecided between Gage and Rhett, judging by the cock-hungry looks they’re giving both. This is bordering on awkward and not what I had planned for the day.

“Not my usual type of congregation,” I say to Rhett, wearing a half-smile.

“I’m just saying, I could easily make all five of you scream my name, in the best way possible,” I hear Gage say, drawing an outraged gasp from Tube Sock. I can almost hear the record scratch as every other noise and voice dies down. We can’t even hear the music anymore, though it’s still playing through the small speaker.

“Excuse me?!” Tube Sock snarls. “How dare you?”

“What? You’re all here. I see how you look at me, Mandy. You’re all wondering what it would be like. Why not try and find out?” Gage replies, as bright as a dandelion.

“Is he suggesting a gang bang?” I ask Rhett, my voice low.

He nods slowly. “More like a six-way. He wants to break his personal record,” he mutters.

  “What’s the record?” I whisper.

Rhett looks at me, his gaze dark but not devoid of amused glimmers. “Three-way.”

“Yeah, he’s the ambitious type,” Kellan says, leaving the cock-hungries and settling next to my tree stump. He’s brought a flask of his own, too, and he’s sharing it with me. It’s not the first time, either. Kellan has been the sweetest and kindest, so far. He’s my gentle giant, in a way.

Gage is funny. He makes me laugh a lot. I love that about him. Nothing gets him down. Nothing. Not even the world ending tomorrow, if that should come to pass.

Rhett is a secret I have yet to unravel. I know he likes my company, and we’ve had some pretty deep conversations… he’s hot. I think about him at night. But he’s never suggested anything romantic. He looks at me in a certain way, sometimes, and I can’t quite understand what he’s after…

Kellan, on the other hand, has been forthcoming and chivalrous, always sharing his scotch with me. His lunch. The snacks he hijacks out of the vending machine every morning, back at the cabin. He likes me. He’s said so, more than once. Maybe that’s why Rhett isn’t making a move. Maybe he wants his brother to have a shot. It’s weird fo
r me, because… I like them both, in slightly different ways. Heck, I’m partial to Gage, too. They’re my Hotshots.

And I don’t like sharing them with these five new arrivals. I take a swig out of Kellan’s flask and give it back to him, allowing the whisky to burn through me in its delicious fashion. “Thanks,” I mutter. He winks at me, and there’s a playful fire dancing in his hazel eyes. I’m intrigued.

“You want to fuck all five of us?” Belladonna giggles, not quite believing Gage’s proposal. To her astonishment, he actually means it.

“At once, ideally,” Gage replies, lying on his side, while Belladonna and Tube Sock sit up, wide eyed and blushing. “We’re all adults here. I don’t see what the problem is.”

“The problem is we’re not into that sick shit!” Bangles snorts a short laugh, then points a thumb at Frizz. “Besides, this one’s a virgin. She wants the romantic candles, the satin bedspread. You know, the whole shebang.”

“Riri!” Frizz admonishes her, reddened with shame. Bangles doesn’t care, though. It’s out there, already. Too late to take it back. My face burns, as I realize I’m a lot like Frizz—as in, a virgin with romantic ideals… only, I’m willing to bend these ideals. For as long as I can remember, I’ve never said no to new things, in almost any aspect of life.

Currently, I’m contemplating a six-way with Gage. Would I join? I shake my head slowly. I wouldn’t want to share him with these obnoxious, self-entitled, moody and spoiled specimens.

“There is nothing sick about sharing the love,” Gage says, unable to stop himself from smiling like the handsome devil that he is. “I mean, think about it,” he adds, looking at Tube Sock. “You can ride me all the way to El Dorado, baby, while Riri here sits on my face. I can finger two of you at once and make you scream. We can take turns, you girls can pleasure each other while I fuck the daylights out of whomever wants to be on the receiving end of this.” He grabs his crotch for dramatic effect.

Belladonna is silent, staring at that bulge. Bangles looks like she’s contemplating the possibilities. Frizz shoots up, grabbing her phone and Bluetooth speaker in the process, barely able to breathe.

“I… I forgot, I got something planned for this afternoon,” she mumbles. “You… You guys have fun!”

She darts away as if her heels are on fire. It’s very hard not to laugh at this point, especially since it could ruin’s Gage chance at breaking his record. It doesn’t take a scientist to see that at least three of the remaining girls are considering his proposal. Orbit seems undecided, her gaze wandering around the group. She settles her attention on Rhett and smiles.

“What about you?” she asks. “What do you think of all this?” she asks.

Rhett scoffs and gets up, brushing some of the dry dirt from his torn jeans. “I’m not in the mood today, but we can talk again tomorrow,” he says, checking his watch. He looks at Kellan and me, noticing how close the two of us are, physically speaking. I can smell Kellan’s cologne, and it’s messing with my head. “I’ll head back to the cabin. See you guys later.”

And just like that, Rhett is out of the picture, walking back to the cabin. I stare after him for a while. He occasionally glances over his shoulder, his gaze finding mine, but he never lets anything slip. I can’t tell what he’s thinking. All I know is that something inside me aches for him, in ways I’d never thought possible.

“You know what? You stick to your porn fantasies,” Tube Sock retorts after some serious thinking. “We’re here to chill out and have fun. We’re not your dick holsters.”

  “Oh, snap,” Belladonna laughs.

Gage, however, is unaffected. Smiling, he gets up and recovers his flask from Bangles, who eyes him like a scrumptious slice of medium rare Kobe steak. “Whatever, ladies. If you change your minds, I’m down by the creek over there,” he says, pointing somewhere beyond the trees, slightly west of the lake. “The water is fantastic. Washes everything away.”

I stifle a chuckle, knowing everything he means by that. Gage shoots me a debonair grin as he leaves the girls behind. Kellan and I don’t move, carefully watching them as they exchange nervous glances. Sometimes, they look to us for some kind of unvoiced opinion or approval, but I dare not give them anything. Kellan takes my hand in his, and a million electric tendrils burst up my arm as I stand, almost out of reflex.

“You wanna go for a walk?” he asks, and I nod meekly. Gage has gone to the creek, likely waiting for one or more girls to eventually join him. Rhett’s off brooding in the cabin, though I’m not sure why. And I’ll be damned if I let Belladonna and her cohorts ruin what’s left of a perfectly beautiful day.

As we move away from the girls, I briefly glance back. Bangles is the first to get up and follow Gage into the woods. Noticing my smile, Kellan follows my gaze as we both watch Belladonna stand and do the same.

“Hm… that didn’t take long,” Kellan says, and I burst into laughter.

He pulls me away from the trail and hides us both behind a giant pine tree. “What?” I ask.

“Hold on. Watch,” he whispers, eyes on our former chillout spot. Orbit is on the phone, sitting on a boulder on the edge of the water, with her back at Tube Sock, who watches her carefully as she gets up and sneaks off after Gage and the others.

“Oh, wow,” I manage, feeling a grin stretch over my face.

“And that, Elly, is how you break a record,” Kellan chuckles.

I look at him, utterly amused. “He wasn’t banking on all five of them, huh?”

“Nah,” he says, shaking his head. “But three is a very good start.” He gazes into the woods, where the creek should be, about two hundred yards from here. “You wanna see what they’re up to?”

My hands snap to my hips. “Are you a voyeur, Kellan?”

  “I’m curious. Aren’t you?”

He is so genuine, it’s baffling. I shouldn’t lie to him, then. Nodding slowly, I sigh. “A little. I’ve only seen it in porn…”

The fires burn even brighter in his eyes, but he keeps his composure while the air thickens between us. Something is changing. Our dynamic is shifting fast, right before us, and I hope I can keep up, because I don’t want to miss a thing. Whatever comes next, I’ll embrace it. Every moment I’ve spent with Kellan, Gage, and Rhett has been wonderful and above. I wouldn’t want summer camp to end now, if only it keeps me close to them.

“Come on, then,” he whispers, taking my hand again.

His skin on mine causes my blood to rush, frenetically racing up to my head. My heart beats harder and faster, as I follow him through the woods. Trees rise around us—tall giants with heavy, dark green crowns that cover most of the clear skies above. The lake breeze blows through, sending delicate chills down my back.

The whispers of rushing water soon emerge, as we carefully step over twigs and dry leaves, so no one hears us. The secret here is to be completely invisible, for we’re about to witness something special. I try hard not to smile, but it becomes increasingly difficult to contain myself, as we reach the creek and hide behind a massive, jagged rock protruding from the ground.

Gage is naked, up to his knees in cool flowing water. Behind him, a small waterfall breaks the creek in two smaller streams, foaming white as they head through the forest and into Lake Tahoe. I can see him in all his Greek God glory, every muscle toned to perfection as he watches Bangles, Belladonna and Tube Sock take their clothes off. His confidence is titanic, and quite the spectacle to watch.

With just a few suggestions and an I-don’t-give-a-shit-whether-you-want-to-or-not attitude, he’s managed to rope three girls out here to the creek. I realize that such a feat takes some serious mentalist skills. Kellan and I watch, jaws on the ground, as Bangles takes the first steps toward Gage, who welcomes her with arms wide open and a throbbing erection. He’s big, and my insides clench as I wonder what it would be like to…

Belladonna loses the panties, softly touching herself. She doesn’t move from the water’s edge, though. Gage kisses Bangles first, gr
ipping her ass cheeks as he pulls her close, so she can feel his cock. One hand moves between them, as he finds that hot spot between her legs and starts stroking. Within seconds, Bangles is moaning, her hips swaying against his hand.

Tube Sock is still in her underwear, all pink lace and satiny ribbons. She’s the less experienced out of the three. I can see the faint shadows of fear in her blue eyes, as she watches Gage fingering Bangles, while Belladonna pleases herself. But she’s curious. She’s dying to know what can happen, and how she can become a part of it. I bite into my lower lip, a foreign heat gathering in the pit of my stomach and making its way further down.

Gage spots Tube Sock standing still and watching. He asks Bangles to wait for him there. Unsurprisingly, she obeys, picking up where he left off, her fingers slipping between her glistening folds, her lips parting in pleasure. Gage motions for Belladonna to join Bangles. “Girl could use your help. Don’t you think?” he says, his gaze dark and filled with danger of the sweetest kind.

Belladonna doesn’t hesitate. She reaches Bangles, and they start fondling and fingering each other. Hands squeezing perky breasts, tongues fluttering over hardened nipples, flesh against flesh as they turn each other on, aiming for the highest peaks. They’re so motivated, it’s almost unbelievable.

Meanwhile, Gage stops in front of Tube Sock, who’s still unsure of what is going to happen. I briefly glance at Kellan, who has had his eyes on me for quite a while now, I realize… The hazel in his eyes is almost the color of the pine crowns ahead of us. He stares desperately at my lips for a long moment. My heart is stumbling, but I can’t do a damn thing about it. All I can do is ride the wave and see where it takes me. I’m eighteen, now. I get to choose my own adventure, don’t I?

I give him a soft smile, then lick my lips and shift my focus back on Gage and Tube Sock. I want to see where this is headed. Liquid heat pools in my panties, as I lean into Kellan, my knees more than just a little weak. If I’m not careful, I might fall and give us away. Whether or not my presence would stop them, I’m not sure. A part of me doubts it.
