The Halo Series Boxed Set Page 66

I laughed nervously. “You and your surprises. Are you going to tell me where we’re flying to tomorrow?”

He slid the key in the door but only propped it open an inch, not letting us in as he spoke. “How do you know we’re flying somewhere?”

“Bailee told me. That reminds me, we’re having breakfast with my mother and her fiancé in the morning.”

  “We … What?”

“Let’s talk about this later. I want to take a long, hot shower with my husband.”

Easton smiled. “We’ll be doing more than just showering, baby.” He opened the door, held it with his foot and then grabbed me. I squealed as he swung me up and cradled me in his arms as he walked over the threshold.

The room was glowing, and my eyes widened as I took in the surroundings. I turned my head and looked at him as I quickly put things together. “Avery and Nicole left these burning for hours?”

He smiled as he walked further into the room. “Nah. They placed the candles, and then the hotel lit them when Avery called to tell them we were on our way.”

“Oh …” I said, still looking at what appeared to be fifty or so candles. “This has to be a fire hazard.”

Easton laughed. “Then we better hurry so we can blow them all out.”

“You want to hurry?” I chuckled in return.

“Well—our first time. I’ve been hard ever since you started walking down the aisle. It’s time I fuck my wife.”

“Your language, Mr. Crawford!” I playfully scolded.

“You love it, Mrs. Crawford.” Easton stopped by the side of the bed, not putting me down.

“I love you and the fact I’m now Mrs. Crawford.”

We kissed briefly before he asked, “Do you love things in black bags?”

I drew my head back, confused at his question.

He nudged his head toward the king-sized bed and my gaze followed. Sitting in the center of the bed were rose petals in the shape of a heart. In the middle of the heart was the black satin bag I kept some of my toys from my bachelorette party in.

My head snapped back to him. “You had Nicole get my vibrators?”

He laughed. “She did buy them.” Easton placed me on the bed and hovered over me.

“I can’t believe you had her get our sex toys.”

“She asked if there was anything I needed from our house. Apparently, she knows where you keep them.”

I let out a hoot. “The top drawer of my nightstand isn’t very hard to figure out.”

“Well, we should use one or two later.”

“Later?” I asked. “Why not now?”

He started to slide down my body. Once he was on his knees, he said, “Don’t need them.”

Easton ran his hands up my bare legs and slowly dragged the lace and twill material up until it was around my waist. I closed my eyes, enjoying the feel of his hands as they glided up and over my panties. Easton hooked his fingers in the top and dragged them down. My legs instantly opened, ready and waiting for him to do whatever he wanted to my sweet spot.

“Fuck,” he growled and pulled me to the edge of the bed.

My hips teetered on the lip of the mattress as Easton spread my legs further apart. The moment he ran a finger over the lips of my pussy, I jolted. The cool air of the room mixed with my arousal made it feel as if his touch was an electric wire. Sparks lit inside me, and I moaned. I’d never get tired of this man. He was my everything.

I’d also never get the image of this moment out of my head. Easton in his tux, me in my white wedding dress, and Easton pleasuring me with his mouth.

My hands reached down, grabbing his sandy-blond hair as I pushed his face deeper. Easton’s tongue was in me as far as he could go, moving in and out as he fucked me with his face. He sucked on my clit, and the pleasure radiated through my entire body.

  He sucked.

  I moaned.

  He lapped.

  I withered.

  He groaned.

  I came.

Easton stood, and I eyed him as my body started to come down from its high. He reached out a hand and nudged for me to take it. I reached up, and he pulled me until we were standing face to face.

“I have to admit, I wanted to do that at our wedding.”

I laughed. “I’m pretty sure people would have noticed we were gone.”

He shrugged and started to walk in a circle around me. The room still glowed from all the candles and even though we weren’t in bright light, I could tell his eyes were smoldering. “That would have been their problem. Too bad we were too busy.” I nodded. I didn’t even have time to sit down after the dinner I didn’t eat.

“However,” he continued, “this way we don’t have to rush.” Easton ran a finger along my bare shoulder, dragging it across and then down my back. “I love your dress by the way. Seeing your exposed back all night was driving me crazy, though. All evening, I pictured my lips pressing soft kisses on your shoulder.” He kissed my shoulder, and I sucked in a breath. “And up and around your neck.”

His mouth moved from my shoulder to the side of my neck and down the back. He placed his hands on my hips. “Running my tongue down the center of your back.” I heard his pants crinkle as he started to bend down.

I felt his hot, wet tongue glide down my back causing goosebumps to rise along my skin. His hands simultaneously ran up my side, and he hooked a finger in each spaghetti strap, slipping the dress down. My head dropped forward, my eyes closing as the dress pooled at my feet and I was left standing naked in front of him.

“Nipping at your ass,” Easton continued his words that were causing my belly to dip in anticipation. Then his teeth sank slightly into the skin on my butt cheek. “Then I pictured your legs wrapped around my waist as I was buried so far deep into you that I swore you took more of me than just my last name tonight.” He tugged at my silver strappy sandal, indicating for me to lift my foot so he could remove my shoes. After removing my shoes quickly, he spun me to face him. He was still down in a crouched position, and he looked up at me. His steel-blue eyes met mine.

“You know I’d give you more than my last name. I’d give you my life.”

I cupped his cheeks with my hands. “And I’d give you mine.”

He cracked a smile. “Your last name?”

I snorted. “My life. You’re my world.” And that was true. Without Easton, there wasn’t a world I wanted to be in.

  He was my love.

  My one.

  My only.

Easton stood, grabbing my hand as he stepped the few feet back to the bed. “And you’re mine.”

He shifted, causing me to turn with him, and the backs of my legs hit the side of the bed. I sat and crawled back as he stepped closer. Easton began to tug at his tie, and I reached up to help him, but he shook his head and stepped back. “I can undress myself. You need to get in the middle of the bed before I throw you there and maul you.”

I laughed at his sudden change in demeanor. My body was humming, and I could only image how turned on he was. I pushed my body back to the middle of the bed, moving the black silk bag out of the way. I didn’t care about the rose petals at that moment.

My gaze turned back to Easton, and I watched as he shrugged off his white dress shirt and started working on his belt. Easton was quick removing his pants and boxers, and before I knew it, we were both naked, and I saw how hard and ready he was. He walked to the end of the bed and crawled up my body until we were face to face. My legs spread, allowing him to rest against me.

He leaned down and kissed me. I could taste myself faintly on his lips as his moved against mine. My mouth opened, urging his tongue to touch mine. We kissed for long moments, our hands roaming each other’s bodies. When I couldn’t breathe any longer, Easton broke his mouth from mine, looked directly into my eyes and guided himself inside me.

My back arched, my eyes closed and my legs wrapped around him as I welcomed him in.

“God I love you,” he said against the skin of my
neck.

I moaned in response as his hips started to drive into me. “I … I love you too,” I panted.

Easton drove his hips harder and deeper into me. My hands reached around his back, trying to hold on as he thrust over and over, hitting the spot that made my body tingle. My skin broke out into a light sheer coat of sweat, ready to explode again. I opened my eyes and saw Easton staring at me.

“I love watching your face when you’re about to come.”

“I …” I gasped. I had no words as our eyes stayed locked and lightning shot up my spine and radiated through my body, sending me into uncontrollable pleasure under him. He kissed me briefly and then rose up, pumping faster and groaning his own release. We stayed connected as we caught our breaths. Then we blew out the candles and took a long, hot shower in which we came some more.

The sunlight peeked through the slit of the hotel room’s blackout curtains and directly into 2my eyes. My naked body was wrapped around Brooke’s with her back to my front and my arm under her neck. I wanted to wake up like this every day for the rest of my life. My wife was beautiful.

  My … wife.

I leaned closer and kissed the top of her shoulder blade. She didn’t stir, so I continued, kissing up onto her neck. Wrapping my free arm around her chest, I pinched her rosy nipple that had slipped out from the sheets. I felt her come alive under me as she woke, my mouth still on her bare skin and my fingers caressing her puckered bud.

Brooke didn’t speak as I slipped my hand from her tit and down her flat stomach, dragging the sheet away so I could cup her. Her breathing became labored as I swirled my finger against her clit. Sliding my other arm forward, I flicked her other nipple with my fingers. I heard a slight moan escape from her throat, and I smiled. I knew she was awake. There was no way she couldn’t be. My fingers twirled around her sensitive areas, and I began kissing the back of her neck and over her shoulder and back. I was aching, my balls tight, and I couldn’t take it any longer. I took Brooke’s top leg, placed it over my side and guided myself into her. She was drenched, my dick easily sliding to the hilt.

My hips started to move, and I returned my hand to her clit, flicking the tight bundle of nerves. Brooke began panting, and my groans came with every thrust. The palm of my hand held her in place as I drove deep and hard into her. One hand pinching her nipple, the other rubbing hard on her clit, and my cock meeting the end of her pussy with each drive.

The sounds of her arousal, her moans and groans, and the creaking bed all resonated in the otherwise silent room. I was close, and the way Brooke’s pussy was tightening around my shaft, I knew she was too.

“Fuck,” I groaned. “I’m close, baby.”

Brooke reached back, grabbed a fistful of my hair, and held on while I picked up my speed and plunged faster into her. “Me too,” she panted. “Harder.”

I took the fingers I was using to circle her clit and picked up the pace, my hand working at the same rhythm of my thrusts. Her pussy started to spasm, so I plucked her nipple—hard. She screamed out as she arched her back forward, her orgasm sending her body into a tremor. I wasn’t far behind her as I drove a few more times and groaned my own release deep inside her.

After a few minutes, Brooke said, “Well—good morning.”

I smiled and kissed her bare shoulder again. “Good morning.”

  Not gonna lie.

I wasn’t looking forward to having breakfast with Brooke’s mom.

I didn’t like the way she treated my wife, and something about the way she crashed our wedding didn’t sit right with me. “Is Chey staying with your parents while we’re gone?” Brooke asked as we sat in the back of a taxi to the restaurant.

I shook my head with a smile. “No, she’s coming with us.”

Her eyebrows furrowed. “Cheyenne’s coming with us on our honeymoon?”

My grin widened. “I’m kidding. She’s coming to the airport and getting on the plane for California.”

  “What? Seriously?”

I groaned. “Yeah. I’ve been dying to talk to you about this, but I didn’t want to ruin the surprise. I’m freaking out that my baby will be getting on a plane by herself.” If I told Brooke that Cheyenne was going to California, she would get suspicious and wonder where we were going. I wanted everything to be a surprise.

“It’s pretty common actually. When I worked in Family Law, kids had to do that when a parent lived out of state. She’ll be fine. Her other grandparents will be there at the gate for her when she arrives?”

I nodded. “Yeah. All the paperwork has been done to allow them to get through security and for me to put her on a plane by herself.”

Brooke reached for my hand and locked our fingers. “She’ll be okay. This means I can scratch Long Beach off the list of potential honeymoon spots, right? I mean, a cruise to Mexico is out since we aren’t flying with her?”

I kissed the back of her hand. “Yeah, we aren’t going on a cruise.”

I wasn’t sure if it was sadness in her face, but something dropped from her features as her smile faded.

“You wanted to go on a cruise again?”

She shrugged. “Not necessarily. I mean, we got married on the same date as our last night together on the cruise. It was one of the things I thought about.”

  “What were others?”

  “Hawaii.”

“Did you want to go to Hawaii?” I was starting to regret my decision on the honeymoon destination.

She shrugged again. “A beach would be nice.”

I sighed. “Well, it’s not Hawaii either. How about you not worry about it and find out when we check in for our flight?”

“You and your secrets,” she muttered.

“They’re all good ones.” I smiled.

“I know. I just want to know already.”

I looked at the time on my phone. “You’ll find out in five hours. But first, I need to get through breakfast.”

She turned and looked out the window at the passing city. The quicker we got there, the faster it would be over and my girl could get some answers.

The cab pulled up to the front of The Carlyle, and a doorman opened Brooke’s side of the taxi. She climbed out as I paid the driver. I stepped out of the taxi and looked for my wife, finding her under the eave of the pristine hotel talking to Bailee.

When I stepped up to the girls, my new sister-in-law asked, “So, how many of the toys did you use last night?”

I chuckled. “That’s none of your business, little sis.”

  “Oh, little sis?”

  “Well, we are family now.”

Bailee smiled. “This is true. So I think the plan should be that you do all the talking during breakfast.”

I laughed and nudged my head toward the door. “Not sure that’s going to work.”

Bailee huffed, and I grabbed my wife’s hand as we started walking. The doorman held the door for us, and I whispered into Brooke’s ear, “Relax. Everything will be fine. And if it’s not, I’ll take you to McDonald’s.”

She snorted. “That does sound much better than the hell we’re about to walk in on.”

We stepped into the lobby, the black marble floor shining beneath our feet. Bailee looked around and then started to walk in a direction I assumed was the restaurant. We followed.

“By the way,” Bailee said, turning to us as she walked backward, “Jimmy and Jane are bringing your bags to the airport after this.”

Brooke turned her head to look at me. “We’re going straight to the airport? What about Chey?”

“They’re bringing her. It’s all part of the plan.” I smiled, trying to put her at ease.

We followed Bailee into the restaurant. Round tables sat throughout covered with crisp white table cloths. An extravagant giant floral arrangement with roses and other shit sat in the middle of the room. Brooke’s hand tightened in mine. I turned and saw her mother with her hand raised in the air to indicate where they were sitting.

When we got to the table,
the girls hugged her as Stanley shook my hand. I tightened my grip a little, signaling that I wasn’t to be fucked with. Brooke was my wife, and Bailee was my family as well. I didn’t care if this woman gave birth to them.

“Easton, it’s nice to see you again.” Beverly kissed my cheek, and I gave a tight smile. You could cut the tension with a knife. It was rolling off my wife and Bailee so thick that I could only image what was going through their heads.

“It was a lovely wedding,” Beverly stated as we sat.

“Cut the shit, Mom. What do you want?” Brooke asked.

  “Don’t talk to your—”

I cut Stanley off, pointing my finger at him as I spoke. “No. We are not to step in unless we have to.”

Brooke reached up and tugged my arm down. “All right. So tension is high. We’ve both been hurt by her our entire life, Stan. We promise to hash it out in a respectable manner given we’re in this fancy place.” Bailee gave him a tight smile and then turned her attention back to her mother. “I’m sure you can understand why we’re acting this way?”

Brooke placed her hands back into her lap, and I reached over and placed my hand on her knee. I knew she knew I was there, but I wanted her to feel that I was there. She wasn’t in this alone anymore.

“I know I made mistakes when you girls were growing up, but things are different now.”

“Like what? We aren’t little girls who need their mommy anymore?” Brooke hissed in a low voice.

Beverly took a deep breath, but before she could speak again, the waitress came over and took our drink orders. We all indicated that we wanted the buffet. It was the most expensive thing on the menu, and like Bailee stated the night before, Stan the Man was apparently loaded. The tension still hung as we waited for Beverly to continue what she was going to say.

“I know I was a horrible mother to you both. I was young and selfish. Now that I’m older and I see how Stanley is with his family, it makes me regret how our relationships are. He has grandchildren, and I don’t want to miss out on my own. I want to be there for you girls and spoil my grandsons and granddaughters.”
