I made the protector bring Nova with me as we made contact with the two race leaders.
“Oh, you’re back… And you brought the only person keeping the giant from killing us. Why is she here?” The draconian chief frowned.
“Pass the message, ‘Chief. Menthol has agreed to allow both of your races to remain here on the condition that you perform a magic peace treaty in his presence,’” I told my crew and one of them said.
At once there was a wave of murmurs from everyone. Both chiefs frowned as well.
“Do you know what a magic peace treaty is?” the tiger man chief asked.
Naturally I shook my head.
“It is a kind of treaty that would bind both parties completely and they can never have conflict as long as they live on the same land. It’s only used by the friendly groups who know the other would never back stab,” he explained.
“Hump. Don’t send indirect insults beast,” the draconian chief said.
“You can do it, or you leave. I don’t plan on taking anyone with me. I will take the tiger men only to the ground below Menthol, and that is it. So, what will it be? A polluted wasteland where there is almost no clean water or food or a bountiful paradise where all you need to do is ignore or work with your neighbor.”
There wasn’t even a need for extra choices, but the thing known as pride was the biggest pain in the ass getting in the way there. Luckily, there were two powerful weapons that arrived just in time to break that.
“Dad, you think we should do it. Our race has lived here since long ago. We don’t know anything about the land below so it’s best to accept the offer,” Greer suddenly said.
The draconian princess also appeared. “I also agree. I don’t want to return to the wastelands being nomads hunting the least contaminated monsters. We didn’t even need to enslave the tiger men in the first place. It was just yours and all the grownups stupid pride at listening to old legends of how the dragon and tiger were enemies and rivals.”
Two low blows coming from the daughters of these men made them sigh deeply. They looked at each other and I could see sparks flashing between them. I think it was more of a personal problem than a racial one.
“Choose now before the giant golem changes his mind.”
The draconian leader sighed deeply. “Fine. If they will do it, then I can accept if it’s for our race’s survival.”
The tiger chief also nodded. “As will I. We still have a problem though, since we don’t have materials and iron to advance without mining his body.”
“I will resolve that later. For now, everyone let’s go do the peace treaty before anything unexpected can happen,” I replied.
Without wasting time, I took everyone to the golem. I made sure to grab all the remaining intact golem cores to hand over as well.
It was a small price to pay to get away from the quest without even having to do much.
As we arrived, I saw the golem had his hand on the ground with his eyes closed. When we arrived at his hand, he slowly lifted it up revealing a really large magic circle that was forming where his hand was.
“Since you are all here it seems you all agree to do the treaty?” he asked.
“Yes, we do,” the tiger chief spoke for all.
Menthol nodded then pointed at the circle in front of him.
“The leaders of the race stand in the circle,” the giant golem instructed.
The two chiefs walked into the space.
“Ok then just shake hands and say, ‘I accept this treaty for peace.’”
The two shook like instructed, I could tell they were forcing themselves greatly to do so. “I accept this treaty for peace.”
The magic circle began glowing brightly and many ribbons of light started to shoot up before slowly falling down onto all the remaining draconians and tiger men.
“It is done. Now then clockwork. Where are the elemental cores you promised?” Menthol said focusing on me.
I walked over and dropped them in his extended hand. They were all quickly absorbed into his hand. He turned his hand around and placed it on the ground away from the group and slid it along the ground.
Trees and plants were all raised and uprooted leaving bare earth.
From it, many little earth dolls were created and shooting up fast were many little fire wisps.
“With this, your part of the deal is done. I will allow you all to remain here, but you can’t mine my minerals since I grow weaker as they are removed,” he explained.
“Do you control where you fly?” I asked.
“Yes, I do.”
“Then can you fly around close to the scrapyard filled with clockworks. I want to bring ships from below for these two races. They would then be able to go down and gather scrap metal to work with,” I explained.
“That scrapyard stinks to high hell but I can stay around for one day once a week. Any more would be too repulsive,” he said.
I looked at the two race leaders. They were grinning and nodding.
“If that’s fine with them, it is good for us,” I said.
“Good it’s all set then. I will return to my own great body. Don’t cause more trouble for me. Oh, and soon these golems will set up trade with your groups. I know that the golem races were destroyed so I will be restoring these two groups,” he said.
With that, the giant black body began returning into the earth and the elementals entered into a large hole that opened up.
After all the events, we all returned to the draconian village.
“We can’t thank you enough for your help. Yours and your sister’s. You’re a true miracle that brought peace to our people,” the tiger man chief said.
“It’s a shame we don’t have anything that can repay you with the same value for what you have done,” the draconian chief said.
“Hehe we never expected anything in return. With the world as it is, it would be amazing if you had anything besides your basic needs,” Bulk said.
The two men nodded.
“Even so it would be improper for you to leave without getting a proper reward,” Annabeth said.
Greer nodded. “I-I think so too. You did so much for both our races.”
“Ah! Greer this was where you were!” Nova ran over to the tiger girl and began scratching under her chin and behind her left ear. In moments, the girl was losing strength as a sense of bliss spread over here.
“Greer? Did you get a name?” the chief asked.
“We just gave her a nickname since we didn’t know what to call her. It would have been strange to always call her tiger girl or something like that,” Victor explained.
The elder man nodded understanding the reasons. But for some reason I saw a small glint of mischievousness in his eye.
Annabeth was wide eyed as she watched Nova pet the tiger girl, “Wow it’s that easy to tame a tiger man. Who knew?”
“Wonder if you want the same thing to happen to you by the four-armed Techno. You were staring at him during the battle that it looked like—” Victor began to say.
“Shut up you little midget. Who asked you anything?!” she shouted growling in rage.
I suddenly felt a sense of dread and I looked at the two village chiefs. They were normal but something told me otherwise.
“Thinking about it. The greatest treasure of any person is their own daughter,” The tiger man chief said.
The draconian chief was nodding along to the words of the tiger man, “Yes, from the looks of it the girls also seem to like you all.”
I felt my gears freeze over as I listened to the two men.
“I think it’s for the best. The best reward we can give you all is our own daughters. Please take care of them for us in your travels,” the tiger chief said.
“Yes, I agree. My daughter has been too sheltered so I believe following such a great group like yours she will open her up. Please take care of my daughter as well,” the draconian chief said.
They both bowed, but before I could shout no m
y worst nightmare appeared before me.
Mission: Guardian Rampage (Alternate ending complete)
Through ingenuity, your crew was able to speak with, and calm down Menthol before he could begin his rampage. Afterwards you were even able to make a deal with him.
Through the deal, you have successfully created peace between the draconian and tiger beast man race and were able to remain on the Menthol’s main body. Not only that, you have supplied Menthol with elemental cores which, under his care, will grow into proper golems that will rebuild the earth and fire elemental races.
Reward:
10x level. Companions Annabeth and Greer. Max intimacy with draconian and tiger beast men race. Unlocked the races, draconian and beast men (tiger).
“no way. i’m not going. I’m not a prize to be given away!” the two girls shouted together.
“and i’m not taking them!” I completed the phrase.
With that single line, I turned with both bodies and dragged Nova with the protector back onto the ship without hearing anyone’s complaints.
CHAPTER 15 Game Masters
Delta PoV
Hehehe to think so much fun follows Techno like this.
To think he would encounter that old coat Menthol. Not only that, I couldn’t believe his sister could make that old bastard react like that. Until then, only Gaia and I were able to piss him off so much that he opened up like that and that was during the wars.
Now then, to annoy Gaia by passing her some news she would hate with the bottom of her magic gem heart.
I looked through her eyes and saw she was in a meeting with a few other race representatives. How could things get any better than that? Annoying her in front of other people was always the best time to piss her off.
“Hey Gaia, I got some news on Techno. He’s up to some fun again,” I said.
“Shut up brat. I’m busy as you can probably see since you are looking through my eyes.” Her text burned with her irritation.
“Guess you don’t want to know where they are or how they got Menthol to pass over the scrapyard once a week for the tiger beast men and draconian race to gather scraps. Or how Techno is going to come and get you to give them some ships so they can do just that,” I told her.
Ah, the sweet sound of Gaia’s grinding gears. There is no sweeter sound than that especially when it’s me making them grind so bitterly.
She was releasing a lot of killing intent in the room which caused the others to jump up and move back.
When she finally noticed, she put herself in control.
“Ah… haha sorry about that. I was contacted by someone and they told me something rather… unpleasant,” she said, her tone turning cold at the last word.
“It must be bad for you to be so angry,” the representative of the goblins said.
She started to take deep breaths to help circulate cooler air.
“You have no idea,” she said, “How long before that son of a bitch returns?” she asked me.
“Can’t say for sure. They stayed on Menthol for about three days so the route was thrown off quite a bit. But I wager around a week before they arrive. I’m sure it will take many people by surprise to see Menthol’s massive body fly through the sky,” I said.
“It’s going to be a pain in the ass to control the clockworks awakened from going up there. What is the level of most of the monsters?” she asked.
“Quite large actually, ranges from 70-200, more or less. The island is quite huge, and the dungeons are pretty deep,” I explained.
“Fuck! They were having fun in such a high-level area. I’m going to need to add a restriction to those who go up there. There are some people who have made their small dinghy boats. I still wonder if those things can maintain them but they are flying in the skies,” she complained tired.
“Best discuss this now while you have the chance,” I advised while still joking at her misery.
She let out a sound of disgust and returned her attention to the meeting. It went normally, but at the end she addressed what was going on.
The solution was simply to not allow anyone below level 60 to go up there. Or at least someone they believed wasn’t armed well enough. There was no doubt in her mind that Techno already developed several more advanced weapons after he took Victor with him.
The demons were skeptical about his actual strength. As were ogres and genies but it wasn’t strange since they never met him.
I also highly doubted he would give a rat’s ass about them as well. He doesn’t do things for fame. They just happen and he just seems to be at the right place and the right time.
Still, I would have loved to meet those two chiefs. Their level of wickedness by making Techno take their daughters was more than genius. I wondered if they wanted in on the fame by having their daughters with them or maybe to train the girls since they weren’t that strong compared to an adult.
Well not like I cared. It was still funny to watch but he wasn’t the only interesting one. Several other parties had long since left the capital and were slowly building greater bodies by gathering materials and returning to smelt them.
Techno’s alchemy metal was still the strongest since they had Victor who had some skill in it to begin with.
I would say in terms of one-on-one Asura Techno was the second strongest awakened with Bulk being number one since he added the status points to fight the rock rhino during the war.
If Techno choses to add those status points he gained from all the levels, then he would most likely become the strongest with ease.
I couldn’t wait to start pissing off both Gaia and Menthol. Things really were getting interesting.
Jeopardy PoV
By the effort of Techno Gear, Nova Gear, Bulk Steel, Ena Hono, Blaze Brisingr, Brock Stone and Victor Belkon. Two new races have been unlocked.
Draconian
Beast Man (Tiger)
The same notification appeared for all players. Techno… Nathaniel. Just like in the betas he was incredibly lucky and was probably the most well-known.
Right then, I was on the shores near the merfolk village I had helped build. Unlike many of the players who were frantic about the quests and all that, I didn’t really care. I was stuck in the game for four months before the next break appeared.
Already half a month had passed, and in that time I stayed in the village helping out and training. From watching game footage, I saw that during the betas some players encountered large monsters. They were all massively high-levels but there were a few smaller monsters.
When we logged back in the number of real animals/monsters exploded. It seemed during the time--skip the game company began adding the lesser creatures and during that time a chaotic ecosystem of monsters was built.
The area around the clockwork nation was considered the safest because of the large number of races that made up the nation. Everyone called it the Clockwork Nation because it was only through their effort that the nation even appeared with the strength it had.
What I was doing, was a subjection quest for the merfolk chief. The old one died some years ago, but his son had taken up the mantle and he remembered me, the water elemental core helped prove my identity.
With me there were two people who were like me, someone who wasn’t in a rush to get big. The game showed no real objective. The two with me were one female merfolk and the other was a male siren.
We needed to clear the beach of monsters that appeared. It was a real annoying monster at that. A giant clam monster that acted like one of those fantasy world mimic chest monsters in dungeons. Inside was the real body which was like a pinkish muscle monster and on the outside was an annoyingly strong shell which was sought after because of its strength. If we could get one that wasn’t broken, then making a shell shield for our party’s siren tank wouldn’t be that bad.
Merfolk and sirens are somewhat unique compared to other races. Unlike the many other races that have craft-based technology, both fish races developed unique ma
rtial art for.
Both my party members took the time to learn both arts but because the only clean water was the main reserve of the village, there wasn’t much in the way of training except for the land-based techniques.
Still the merfolk were more mage like similar to me. The martial arts were built around utilizing the strong water affinity of a merfolk and hitting with strong water attacks.
As for the sirens, it was more physical but still used water as the base. In the land skills a siren could cause shock waves through another being using those techniques. The shock waves are actually sent by using magic through the creature’s body. Since only spirits or skeleton undead have no water since they have no bodies, the techniques are massively powerful against most if not all living beings. Skeletons can still be damaged, but they are like any of the artificial beings.
Even I was in a bit of danger because the shock wave could be sent with the water in the air so even then it could hit but it was much less intense.
The siren went in and used his martial arts techniques. Each hit on the iron hard shell shaved a huge amount of health from the monster.
We were asked to clear the beach of them. The total population was around 500. We only had one left. The one we were attacking was like a boss. This thing had over 3000 HP and the attacks of the siren were taking 15 each hit.
Let me say that this was really high compared to the ‘fast’ trainers who didn’t actually take the time to learn the real martial arts behind the techniques and just used the game system to help them.
The trick to the boss was hit it until it opened up and attacked. In total, the giant four meter long, two meter high clam soon opened up after it lost 500 HP.
As soon as he hit the last time, he jumped back and we were both ready.
Though water would normally be ineffective against a water-based monster that would only apply when you don’t hit the weak point.
The mermaid and I had already prepared magic in advance. I charged my original affinity which was lightning magic while the mermaid did the same with water.
