Phantom Knights: Electric Pulse Page 12

How did she let a human male get under her skin? It didn’t make any logical sense. Kat knew nothing about him. Strangely enough, she felt Luke meant something to her. And Kat had to figure it out, or she wouldn’t be able to focus. It could be highly plausible it was only her feeling this. No need to ruin a perfectly fine human’s life, but Kat had to know for sure.

Kat was losing focus in fights. Now that she was teamed up with Sia, Kat had more than herself to look after. There was no way the harpy would risk her sister’s life. Thus, she had to keep herself alive. Kat thought the new challenge the phantom creatures were throwing would be enough to quell her thirst for him; however, it hadn’t. It just made her more restless and tense. There was so much pent up aggression she needed to release. Luke was the only one she wanted to help her release it.

Kat drew back her fifth whiskey neat, knowing her decision had been made. The harpy was going to see her human again. She just needed to figure out how? Not like her ass could walk up to his condo, knock on the door, and say, “honey, I’m home.” No telling if she’d saunter in on something personal. And she didn’t need that type of full-frontal disappointment. She could perhaps show up at his office, but that could be perceived as a little stalkerish. No, Kat had to keep it casual. Gesturing to the bartender for another drink, Kat figured the best course of action was to bump into him while he was out accidentally. Perceptions be damned. It was extremely stalkerish, but that’s the only solution she had.

Following him, however, meant she’d have to go out in daylight, which was a higher chance of exposure. The Knight would have to use a light hum of power to conceal her wings. The spike in energy could draw her enemies to her location. If they attacked it’d be harder to disguise the battle in daylight, then it would be in darkness. But Kat remembered those dark curls sliding through her fingers, as she palmed his head. Those powerful hips thrust in and out of her. The memory alone would make it oooh, so worth the risk.

Sia came off the dance floor to stand beside her, ordering a seltzer. The duo was getting along so well lately, falling into familiar patterns. It was almost as if they’d never parted. Their parents had trained them well. Unfortunately, that was the only thing positive they ever did for them. Teach them how to stay alive.

Their father tried, to the best of his ability, to be more active in their lives outside of training. But it just wasn’t in his nature. The sperm donor was a phoenix. And the fact that his children turned out to be harpies always seemed to upset him. When two different species had children, whoever had the more dominate DNA amongst the pair would determine the species of the paranormal conceived. Their father always felt less of a male since he ended up having two twin harpies, which proved their mother wore the pants in that relationship.

There was still a chance the kids would split down the middle, but that was extremely rare. Their father loved them nonetheless. But the male always found a way to let his disappointment known. If they’d been born a phoenix, they wouldn’t have had to go through such grueling training. Like it was their fault for becoming harpies. But they can’t change the past.

Regardless of her history, Kat was proud of who she was. And having at least one member in the family at her back made it that much more worthwhile.

“Ready to go?” Kat asked her sister.

“Yeah, I’m beat; besides we should get back out there.”

Kat raised her lips in s smirk, “chicken.”

“Nah. But I ain’t stupid either.”

Kat laughed, linking their arms together as they walked out of the club. Yes, she was happy to have her sister back at her side. And hopefully soon her human back under her.

Just one more mile. Luke came to a stop at a bench alongside the lake on the path A trail he ran every Wednesday. Luke checked his Fitbit and saw he’d already beat his previous record. Yet he wasn’t burnt out, which was encouraging. He lifted a leg on the park bench and stretched out his tight muscles, bending at the knee.

The frigid air frequently caused his muscles to cramp quicker than being inside. However, it was better than running on a treadmill in a crowded gym. Seeing how it was just a few days into March, the gym was still loaded with New Year’s resolution seekers. The ones who were trying to lose the fifteen pounds they gained over the holidays. It just made more sense for him to run along his favorite track, besides he loved being outdoors.

Luke rechecked his wristwatch. The target goal for the day flashed complete. Luke rotated his shoulders, counterclockwise, gearing up for one final mile to push himself. Resetting his playlist, he reconnected his Bluetooth and Lil Wayne’s " I Am Not A Human Being” came blaring through.

Luke had a stressful week thus far, and running always seemed to clear his mind. He tried to make it out to the track at least twice a week. However, his schedule hadn’t permitted much personal time. So Luke was glad he was able to sneak away today. Destressing his muscles should help get him through the rest of the week.

Clasping his hands together, he straightened, then stretched his hands to the heavens. Continuing to warm up, Luke long steeped with his knees, marching in place. Feeling loose, he set out.

  "Must be my lucky day."

Luke spun around instantaneously, taken off guard by the familiar voice. He hadn’t heard it in over a month, yet it was one Luke remembered. It was one he had guaranteed himself he’d never hear again after all this time. The fantasy woman in the flesh. Luke almost thought he was hallucinating. Hell, after five miles, his brain could’ve started to draw up a mirage. But when she spoke again, he knew she was real.

"How have you been, Lucas?" The vixen stepped back and smiled. She remembered my name.

"I nearly didn’t recognize you without your glasses."

My glasses. Luke reached up to adjust the glasses that weren’t there. He wasn’t doing an excellent job on the conversation front.

"Right, yes, hello. I take them off to run. I hate when they fog up, so I wear my contacts instead."

"Makes sense...” She paused, tapping her index finger to her chin. “So, you haven’t answered my question."

Luke lifted a finger to scratch his head. "Huh? Oh umm, I’m sorry, what was your question?"

"How have you been" say my name, please say my name again "......Lucas?"

The poor sap almost came right there in his track pants. But seriously, would anyone blame him. Even in her all-black tracksuit, with matching, sneakers, scarf, vest, and ear muffs the woman oozed sex appeal.

"I’ve been good. How about you?" Luke replied with what he hoped was a confident smile, tucking his hands into his pants pocket.

"Same," she responded, returning his smile, which lit up her gorgeous face.

He’d been envisioning this very encounter for weeks now. And after countless rehearsal conversations, he still had no clue what to say to her. She stepped closer to him. The action made him lose his train of thought, even more so when she spoke her next words.

"I’ve been thinking about you,” she moved even closer into his space “I’ve missed you."

That snapped the awkwardness right out of his body. Doing something he’d dreamed of doing for weeks, he grabbed her, pulling her close to his body.

Luke whispered down to her, "I’ve missed you too." And he did. He didn’t know why, but it was the truth.

"So, what are you and I going to do about that, Luke? You missed me; I’ve missed you.”

Luke ran his hand down the woman’s cheek, smiling. Luke knew precisely what he wanted to do. He just hoped they were both on the same page.

Kat slammed Luke’s door behind her. Grabbing his arm, she threw him back against the wall to her left and took his lips in a punishing embrace.

The harpy was so glad Luke didn’t ask questions once they’d left the track. Kat told him she’d driven to the trail and she would follow him home. She solidified the lie by telling him not to worry about losing her since Kat remembered where h
e lived. The truth was, she’d followed him to the lake on foot. But he didn’t need to know that.

The admission would probably just freak him out since the track was basically in the middle of nowhere. The guy took her word and rolled with it. Kat was so blissfully glad he decided to run with it. The Knight was so excited to see him she hadn’t prepared for any other scenario.

Luke’s tongue darted in her mouth, fighting for dominance, effectively drawing her attention back to the kiss. The two frantically pulled each other clothes off, without disengaging their lips. She could distantly hear items being knocked over in their haste. Kat felt that familiar spark of electricity between them again, but she managed to keep it within. The effort required a great deal of concentration. Which was exceedingly tricky considering he was devouring her lips. And his flavor was intoxicating. Kat nearly came right there in his hands at its intensity. So worth the wait.

The Knight hadn’t known what to expect when she walked up on him on the track. Luke could’ve been completely thrown off by her approach or acted as if they’ve never met. Males tended to have a short attention span. In the end, she was semi-hoping for the latter. Maybe if he acted as if they’ve never met, she’d be able to move on and get him off her mind. However, this situation turned out better. Much better.

Luke yanked her top over her head, freeing her breast, with a speed that impressed even her. Kat was pleased to see he wanted her just as much as she wanted him. The wet dreams didn’t do this moment justice. And they were both impatient for it. Clothes were thrown everywhere. Kat was pretty sure she broke a few zippers. And may have unintentionally scratched a couple of tender places trying to relieve him of his pants. Before they were both blissfully naked.

Coming up for air, she took a moment to appreciate him as they pulled apart. Kat loved the fact that he was confident in his nakedness. It allowed her gaze to roam free unashamed. Luke stood before her proud, and he had every right to feel that way. The male was gorgeous. And she could’ve stared at him all day, but a moment was all he gave her to admire his physique. Luke pulled a condom out of the walkway dresser, applying it on his massive girth.

Kat was spun around until her back hit the wall, then hoisted into the air. The harpy immediately wrapped her legs around Luke’s waist, curling her arms around his neck. Luke captured her lips again, plugging inside her with one powerful thrust. He pounded into her forcibly, banging her head back into the wall. So hard, Kat had to brace a palm above her head to keep her from slamming through it.

They were both panting heavily, requiring them to break their passionate, all-consuming, kiss in favor of air. When Kat peeled her lips away from his, she ran her tongue up the side of his neck and up to his ear. Luke tasted salty from his run, but she was still able to taste his flavor.

Kat felt her climax rise in a rush of glory. Luke smothered her lips again with a kiss to drawn out the sounds of her exotic cry. Elated, she dug her nails into his back effectively leaving a mark. Kat screamed into Luke’s mouth, her vagina muscles tightening around his member. Luke buried his face in her neck as he exploded right behind her. True bliss.

  Chapter Twenty

Luke couldn’t move. The guy just stayed there holding his seductress up against the wall. His forehead was resting against hers as they tried to catch their breath. Luke felt like his chest was going to burst wide open if he didn’t get his breathing under control soon. If he didn’t have enough oxygen, Luke was likely to pass the hell out.

Luke lifted his head slightly to peer into her eyes. Please look as utterly defeated as I feel. Thank God. Slightly pulling back, Luke gazed into eyes that appeared just as beaten down as he felt. And didn’t that make him swell with pride. Their eyes locked, and Luke smiled.

  "Damn."

Luke threw back his head and laughed just as she unhooked her legs from his waist to slide down his body. They stood there for a few more seconds in each other’s arms, as they collected their thoughts. Man, Luke could hold her all day if she let him.

The two fell into a comfortable silence. Luke spent most of the afternoon and evening out on the track, and he was sweaty and probably smelled worse. Not that he cared at the moment. But Luke didn’t want her uncomfortable. The guy needed a shower.

"As much as I’d like to keep holding you, I could use a shower. Not that I don’t like smelling of you. But I’ve been on track for a while, and I worked all day." Luke pulled back slightly so he could look at her.

"Hmmm yeah, a shower sounds amazing right about now."

Right, she’d need one too. Luke grabbed her hand to show her to the guest bathroom. The one on the other side of his living room area down by his 65'inch flat-screen TV.

"Come with me the guest bath is just down this way." The vixen stilled his hand when he went to pull her away from the wall.

"Now why would I want to shower alone? How about we conserve water and shower together instead."

Yeah, he soooo could get on board with that.

Luke grabbed her hand and drew her toward the master bath. He loved his bathroom. It was about 500 square feet with marble his and her style sinks. There was a jet whirlpool tub to the side and a shower in the corner that could probably fit five people inside. The power jets overhead and from the front were some of its best features, excluding the bench inside.

Luke pulled his woman inside, shutting the foggy glass panels after starting the jets. His mind went to the many positions he could put his temptress in on that very bench. Yes, the seat most certainly will be the best feature in his shower now.

Closing things up, Luke turned his back on the jets from and pulled his lady into his body. In the hallway entrance, the two had taken things incredibly fast. No doubt both craving each other’s touch — however, this time, he wanted to take things slowly. Luke needed to memorize her body. He wanted to watch her face as he pleasured her.

Luke began kissing her cheek; then he ran his tongue down the side of her neck. He caressed her breast, pinching each irate nipple in turn. Luke enjoyed watching them pucker under his sensual caress. He proceeded to do it again, loving the exhale of breath his lady took in response. Dipping down a Luke captured one the pink tip into his mouth and sucked The action alotted easier access for her to run fingers through Luke’s damp hair. Luke could feel the energy between them was starting to escalate. But he wasn’t ready to take things any further yet.

Luke pulled away to grab the soap on the stall. He started lathering his hands with suds. Luke washed her body from elbow to toes, then handed over the soap. So she was able to do the same. She was took her time working over his body, admiring all his lines and sensitive. On the journey the temptress planted featherlike kisses to his pecks and abs, making Luke shiver.

Once they were both clean and free of soap, Luke resumed his sensual kisses to her flesh. Turning her, so she faced the wall, he ran a hand down her spine as he kissed her shoulder. Luke propped her leg up on the bench. He grabbed his length and positioned it at her entrance from behind. This time Luke entered her slowly, grabbing her hips to steady his thrust into her. They both moaned in unison as he invaded her tight inner circle. She felt so good, so right.

Keeping a slow, steady pace, he moved in and out of her, as he ran his tongue down her neck and over her shoulder. She slanted her head back, so it laid slightly over his shoulder, meeting him thrust for thrust. Reaching around, Luke cupped her chin and brought her lips around to capture his, while dragging a hand down her abdomen. He touched the cliff of her clitoris with his fingertips, circling her bud, burrowing his staff in pace with his hips — the sensation drawing a hushed gasp from her lips. Their mouths were continuing to dance as she climaxed gently in his arms. And Luke followed a few strokes after, kissing her slowly as he exited her entrance.

The water in the shower had probably cooled a long time ago, but neither of them seemed to mind. They allowed the cool jets to cleanse their skin. Luke turned off the faucet, and they exited the shower in silence. Water sti
ll dripping from their bodies. Luke grabbed a towel from his stand in the corner and walked back over to dry off his girl. The guy took exceptional care. Making sure she was dry before he grabbed the other towel and quickly dried himself off. Luke wrapped the towel around his waist then bent down to kiss her again. When she looked up at him and smiled he knew right then, he was hooked.

  ∞∞∞

Luke’s confidence started to sprout as the evening progressed. The things he did to her in that shower involving his fingers were mind-blowing. Kat didn’t know if it was a combination of the jets teasing her body or just him. It wasn’t too often a girl could have multiple orgasms in one sitting. But the way he used his body with such confidence had brought her over the edge, numerous times.

They finally stepped out the shower once the water started to run cold. Luke towel-dried her off and grabbed his robe to wrap around her as he wrapped a towel around his waist. The guy was so gentle with her in the shower. Treating her as if she was a precious jewel needing to be polished. Kat never felt so cared for in her entire life. She loved aggressive sex — the one filled with passion and heat. But what Kat experienced in the bathroom was unexpectedly beautiful. She liked it. Kat liked him.

Finishing up in the bathroom, they walked out with Luke leading the way to the main room. By now the sun outside had dropped in the horizon with darkness taking its place.

"So," he turned to look at her, "can I get you a drink?"

Kat looked over at her clothes, knowing she should go. She needed to hunt and staying here any longer wouldn’t be a bright idea. Luke must have read her mind as she glanced over. He came around the bar and stood before her blocking her view of her clothing at the entrance.
