Phantom Knights: Electric Pulse Page 22

by KD Bond

Glancing down, as she watched her sister step off the ledge, a single image flashed through Kat’s mind. The one where she was in this very spot, reading a fairy tale stories. Kat remembered everything she’d been through these past couples of months and how she’d overcome so much adversity — having to deal with backstabbing sisters and a bitch of a mother. Coping with the introduction of new sisters at arms and one couldn’t forget Sky. If she had to have a stepmother, she couldn’t choose one better. And her prince….. Yum. Kat was in no way trying to compare her wild life to Cinderella’s fable, but maybe she was living in her own story. Katrina Thorne took a step off the ledge and smiled.

Nah, this isn’t my ever after. Happily, ever after’s, were for people whose stories had already ended. And theirs, well theirs were just getting started.

Kat called up the electrical current that lived deep within the depth of her soul. She watched the pulse dance all over the outside of her body, as the Knight sailed through the air towards the ground below.

  About the author

Katherine was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Her military family landed her in Norfolk, Virginia where she now calls home. The love for reading started in grade school. After her mother gave her money for her elementary book fair at Ocean View Elementary. Since purchasing her first book, “Where the sidewalk ends,” her love for reading grew. Throughout Katherine’s life, she expanded her bookshelf. The collection ranged from nursery rhymes to urban street lit, then finally settling on her favorite genre, paranormal romances. The author fell in love with her all-time favorite series, The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R.Ward. It wasn’t until Katherine became pregnant with her son, Jeremiah, that she discovered her own story. The writer wrote through her entire pregnancy, and thus the Knights were born.
