A loud sound rang out at the end of the bed.
“Shit,” he muttered. Her eyes fluttered open as he pawed for his suit pants. He showed her the phone and her mouth dropped open.
“Shit!”
It was Bella along with seven text messages screaming about the cake cutting event happening in ten minutes. He quickly texted his step-mother back, and they hurried into their clothes.
“My makeup is so messed up!” she cried. “And now, my neck is bleeding!” He threw her a ribbon off one of the champagne bottles, and she wrapped it around her neck in a bow. They hurried out of the room and made it back to the party right before the cake cutting.
Epilogue: Marcy
Things had changed dramatically since Marcy met Blade Berkley. He had turned her entire life upside down.
“That’ll be the last of the papers,” he muttered. He was seated at her kitchen table as she cradled Oliver in her arms. They were signing their marriage agreement.
“Are you sure you’re ready to adopt after we get married?” she asked with a bit of doubt. He threw a smirk towards her.
“Don’t think you can shake me off that easily.” He leaned in for a kiss and she happily gave in to his demand. After she finished signing the final line on their agreement, they packed the papers away in a yellow envelope for their lawyers.
“You have a wedding to plan,” he said with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
“We have a wedding to plan,” she corrected him with a smirk. “And we can’t run off to a hotel room in the middle of this one.”
He frowned. “I suppose you’re right. I’ll be patient for the honeymoon. Bella is claiming that she knew that we would get together, and therefore, she played matchmaker.”
“Great,” Marcy said with a laugh and a roll of her eyes. “Please just make sure she doesn’t wear white to the wedding.”
“Promise,” he said and kissed her again. Oliver tugged on Blade’s sleeve as he tried to pull away. “Look even our son wants me to kiss your face off.”
She melted at him calling Oliver their son, but just shook her head and kissed him again before standing. “Well, our son is going down for his nap.”
“Oh, really?” Blade asked as he danced his fingers up her bare shoulder in her tank top. “You know, I have about an hour before my appointment with the lawyer.” He winked at her. She smiled, saying nothing, as she left the room to take Oliver to his crib. When the baby was down for his nap, she returned to the kitchen, leaning one hip against the doorframe.
“Mr. Berkley,” she called. “I believe you have an appointment with me in the bedroom before the lawyer?” She turned on her heel, making sure to sway her hips as she marched down the hall to her bedroom. She heard his chair screech from being moved so quickly as he bounded after her. She squealed when she felt his arms around her waist and suddenly, they were on the bed, kissing, unable to stop themselves.
They had so many important things to consider. Their love, their family, their future.
He ended up being late for the lawyer.
