STAR OF EPIPHANY Page 11

Ulrich Giger interrupted, “Hold on. Let me sum up what we have so far. Like the General, I don’t fully understand the cyber currency valuation, but that can explained to us in detail later. Here’s what we have. We need full cooperation from all governments and all businesses on Earth. We need full control of all currency available in the world for the next ten years. We plan to accomplish this by issuing a cyber coin and controlling the value of the coin to make it very attractive to everybody. I assume we’ll use the cyber coin to buy assets we need from everybody. We can sell this because we can tell them that everybody on the planet is in the same boat, and they will all be converting to the same coin which will appreciate in value. We need a domino scheme of top leaders and how to push them to join us.”

Giger paused for a few seconds. Then he added, “And we’ll need some kind of framework for control of the project and currency. This is important. Any ideas?”

There was some silence, then Sam Hoffman spoke up, “It can’t be us, or we won’t be trusted to sell the plan. It can’t be the UN because they are hopelessly incompetent. It has to be a small enough group to get things done, a group composed of individuals who have great public visibility and still retain a high trust value. And yet, while this group looks like a leadership group, they should not have the power to substantially change the engineering plans or the currency plans, and they should not have enough power to threaten the leaders who are going to have to agree to give up most of their power. We need to convince our gang of current world leaders that they will still be in charge when this is over. That means the leadership group must be strictly temporary.”

Giger offered, “You are coming pretty close to describing the UN Security Council.”

Sam raised his eyebrows, “You know, you’re right. Maybe a set core group to ensure a sense of stability and then some rotating seats that allow everybody else to get a little skin in the game.”

Bill Decker said, “I like this plan. We can assign all the top political leaders to the rotating seats, and we can fill the rest of the core seats with some trusted names that have been in more subordinate roles, like foreign ministers, and banking ministers, and maybe even some captains of industry. Giger, you would be perfect for this role.” He looked over at Ulrich.

Ulrich shook his head and responded, “No, Sam was right. It can’t be us, and that includes me. Besides, I’m going to be too busy working behind the scenes to actually keep things moving. And that points out something else. We need a charter that hamstrings this leadership council, so they can’t derail the project. We have to be subtle about this, maybe some clauses that stipulate the IISS team who put together the engineering plan will continue to maintain and modify that plan as needed without interference.”

Peter Anderson said, “We’ll also need pretty tight control of the cyber currency, so whoever gets control of that process needs to be stable, reliable, and out of range of the influence of the politicians.”

Tony agreed, “He’s right. Absolutely right. The only way we can sell the currency takeover is if we can keep the value very stable and constantly appreciating. This is what makes it attractive. It’s also easy to control those factors if you control the mining and issuance components.”

Bill said, “Mining? How does that pertain to currency? Never mind. You can explain it to me later.” He sighed.

Peter explained, “The mining in cyber currency is a process of complex calculations that ensure trust. It’s just number crunching on fast computers, but it’s called mining because it’s effort intensive and it produces value, just like digging in the earth for rare metals. The mining process produces a mathematical result that ensures the integrity of the cyber coins. So, mining is a mathematical computation that provides the integrity in the process that in turn creates trust in the coins.” He grinned at Bill.

Ulrich Giger resumed control of the conversation, “Okay, we’re going to need a legal framework that we can pass off as a charter document for the leadership council. I can give my legal team here the basics and have them draw it up, and then we can review it. I’m assuming it will take a few days to create a crude draft version. We also need a cyber currency plan outline and it sounds like Peter and Tony should take the lead on this. Let me know if you need any administrative help or resources or connections to others. We will need a final engineering plan from the IISS team. I’ll ask them when they can have it in document form. Sam and Bill and I will begin working on a list of names for the council and the domino sequencing. And finally, I’m pretty sure we need to get this all done in thirty days maximum. Is there anything else?”

Bill Decker added, “It’s a sure bet that folks at the IISS have reported the facts back to their individual governments and probably some have leaked to businesses and news agencies. So far nobody seems willing to talk about this openly, but that will change soon. Your thirty days has already started.”

Giger nodded his acknowledgment then swept the table with his eyes.

Peter Anderson suggested, “Can we call this organization, ‘Humanity United’? I think that would help sell it.”

Giger responded, “Without objection, done. If anybody else has any suggestions, we’ll all be working closely on this for the next month at least. And that brings to mind personal details. You all have rooms here in our building and your luggage should be in them. It’s just like staying in a hotel, complete with room service, concierge services and anything else you might need. Just ask.”

Billy Street touched his ear piece, “Call Omega.” Then he said, “Billy Street for Mr. Omega.”

He waited then said, “Hello Mr. Omega. The IISS analysis team is continuing to develop their plan to build space elevators and habitats for living space. There have not been any significant changes in the plan, they’re just finalizing the engineering details and numbers.”

He paused, “Yes. Yes. No, there are no changes in the cost estimates. They are still astronomical. Oh, and Ulrich Giger has been contacted by the group I had mentioned earlier and it appears he has accepted their proposal to lead a project management team.”

While he spoke, he began folding a piece of paper into a paper airplane with a long sharp nose. He paused again, “Yes, he is an interesting man.”

Then Billy asked, “Do you want me to try to find out who is going to be on his team?”

Then, “Okay, then I’ll just continue to concentrate on the IISS.” Billy balanced the paper airplane on its point in the palm of his hand, then moved it to one finger tip and kept on balancing it there while he spoke.

Another pause then, “Yes, we anticipated that. Some scientists have been reporting back to their national political organizations that they work for and there seems to be a consensus that the political folks don’t really believe what they are telling them. At least, it’s being met with a wide degree of skepticism and doubt.”

Again he paused, “Okay Mr. Omega, I’ll report back if I hear anything new. Thank you sir.” He touched his earpiece with one hand to end the call and kept on balancing the paper airplane on the index finger of his other hand.

The head of a man appeared on the large screen on the wall at one side of the conference room and said, “Good Morning, this is Gitane Levesque reporting for EAP in Paris. For several months now, we’ve all been watching with increasing interest, a new star in our sky, which is actually a huge comet. It was approaching our Sun, but it broke up into many pieces when it swung around the Sun, being torn apart by the gravitational forces. Now there remains a column of comet pieces that our astronomers call a comet train, that is leaving our Solar System on a new orbital trajectory. They have told us the comet train will return in about ten years. They have told us that it may come close to the orbit of Earth. Then they told us some pieces of the comet train may actually hit us.”

Gitane paused and the camera zoomed in a little closer on his face, “Now we ar
e hearing from non-official sources that many of the pieces of the comet will hit us and that it may have an impact on our weather and the production of agricultural crops.”

The view on the screen switched to another camera angle and Gitane turned to face the camera, “I need to stress that we can’t confirm this. But we are getting this information from more than one source now and from some who have been reliable in the past.”

Gitane paused and looked down, then looked back into the camera and added, “Perhaps the most significant thing I can report is that while our official sources won’t confirm that the comet train may become a dangerous threat, neither will they deny it.”

The view shifted again to another camera and Gitane turned to face it, “This is Gitane Levesque for EAP in Paris.”

Ulrich Giger pressed a button muting the sound but allowed the video to stay on. He turned away from the screen and faced the other men sitting at the table. He glanced around the table briefly, “General Decker, you were right. We can probably expect this story to break out of its containment within a few days, a week at most.”

Bill Decker nodded and responded, “Please just call me Bill.”

Ulrich waited for somebody to speak but there was only silence. Finally he offered, “When we met here several days ago, I introduced each of you briefly to the others. I took it for granted that you all knew me. But since then, you’ve had some questions about my company and other things, so to save time, I will go over those factors now for all of you.”

Ulrich leaned back a little in his chair and took a deep breath and began, “I am a citizen of Switzerland. I am the founder, President, CEO, and majority owner of Advanced Guardian Technology, a private business conglomerate now with annual revenues in the neighborhood of five hundred billion U.S. dollars. The various divisions of AGT make scientific laboratory instruments, aviation instruments, composite materials, formula one racing engines, watches, smart phones, and a wide variety of wireless accessories and internet devices. Our peripheral holdings in real estate, travel, transportation, and communications allow us to create high quality products priced competitively. In most markets, we can either dominate the market or choose our profit level, sometimes both. The full resources of AGT are available for us to use as needed.”

He looked around the table again, but nobody spoke, so he continued, “We are in the AGT headquarters building complex in Zurich. We are completely self-sufficient here and have excellent security as well as comprehensive communications connections with the outside world. You will find the same level of amenities as most luxury hotels offer. Do you have any other questions?”

Sam Hoffman glanced around the table and when nobody else spoke, he did, “When Ulrich introduced us, he pointed out that each of us has an extraordinary reputation for accomplishment under difficult circumstances. This is obviously why he chose us to be part of this small group. But he left out something. Ulrich himself was chosen to lead this group for the same exact reason. He has a reputation as one of the best if not the premier project manager in the world. He has taken on projects that nobody else could complete and few would even attempt. And just like the quality level of the products turned out by AGT, Ulrich himself also produces top quality work.”

Sam paused, then added, “And he’s too humble to have said any of these things himself, so I did.”

Silence ruled the table for about twenty seconds, then Sam finally said, “Well, we came here to discuss our progress, so I guess I’ll start. We need everybody in the world to cooperate together and that has never before happened. In order to make it happen, we must have nearly all the key leaders in the world in a state of agreement. And it means not just political leaders, but also business leaders and every other kind of leader that exists. And it means a complete takeover of all world finances. In short gentlemen, we’re talking about taking over the entire world and creating a new world order.” Sam paused.

Without any hesitation, Peter Anderson spoke, “Those are fighting words in some circles.”

Tony Azaria seconded the motion with, “Amen. We should never speak those words in public.”

Ulrich Giger added, “Hear him out. Bill and I also objected to this the first time we heard it, but he’s right. Sam, please continue.”

Sam nodded at Tony and then Peter, “You are both correct. We should never say those words in public. However, those words are the most succinct way to describe the work lying ahead of us. We must take over the entire world and convince everybody to work together if we have any hope at all of surviving the impact of the comet train. It’s pretty important for us to remember that everything is at stake. If we don’t succeed in any degree, nobody survives. If we succeed partially, some of humanity will live and many will die. The only way to save all the human race is for us to succeed in totality. This is the only shot the entire human race has.”

Sam looked around the room at sober faces. Then he said, “I am convinced that Ulrich Giger represents the pinnacle of human endeavor. He could easily have qualified as a genius in many fields had he chosen to specialize. But instead, he decided to build an organization of extraordinary resources, and to become a genius at solving difficult problems of all types, and leading nearly impossible projects to fruition. He has a proven track record at doing this.”

Sam shook his head, “I don’t usually talk this much, but these things must be said. Ulrich choose us because he is convinced that each one of us is an indispensable component in this project team. That means each of us will need to bring our best effort and probably find ways to increase our performance level beyond anything we have produced in the past. If we don’t, we are likely to fail.”

Sam dropped his chin down, then raised it back up, “So the fact is, we are going to have to take over the world. We can’t ever say that publicly, but that is in fact what we must accomplish. Our domino theory to recruit leaders is solid, and we’ll use it, but we’ll also need a political structure plan because we have to create a design for running the new world order for the next ten years. Likewise, the idea of using cyber currency is excellent and probably the only way to accomplish our goals, but we’ll need more. We’ll need a complete financial plan because we’ll need to buy the entire planet. Did you get that?” He spoke slowly, “ We’ll have to buy the entire planet. How do you even start making a plan to buy the entire planet?”

The group at the table remained silent and their faces looked a little stunned. Sam continued, “Think about it. First we need about eight hundred trillion dollars to create the infrastructure needed for the evacuation and new living habitats in space. We’ve already figured out the only way to do that is to mint our own cyber currency. But once we have the money, we also need control over most of the manufacturing industries and resources in order to make the products we’ll need. And we’ll need the control of all other industries necessary to focus them on supporting the project. It doesn’t stop there. We need full control over our cyber currency. We need full control over human resources. The only way to accomplish all of these things is to buy the entire planet with our cyber currency and take over control of the whole world.”

Ulrich took advantage of the silent reaction to add, “He’s right. Forget about the political implications for a moment. We need money. We need construction effort. We need transportation effort. We need food, health care, and education. We need the full cooperation of the entire population of the planet. The only way to accomplish all this is to buy the entire planet and take over control of everything. We’ve already stipulated that we can’t say those words. So our mission now becomes how to accomplish all this without saying it and minimize any awareness of ego, power, control, and influence and instead keep everybody focused on just staying alive, because that is in fact our primary objective.”

More silence followed, then Tony spoke, “It gets worse.”

  Bill Decker groaned.

Tony continued, “We’ve considered the money supply and business world and governm
ental budgets. But there’s another huge piece of the world's economy that we haven’t mentioned. That is real estate. Real estate values are not considered to be part of GDP numbers, so we haven’t included this area yet. But the total value of developed real estate in the world is somewhere around two hundred and thirty trillion U.S. dollars. That’s three times the worldwide GDP!” Peter Anderson puffed his cheeks and blew out some air, almost whistling.

Tony glanced around the room, “I think this means we need to buy all the real estate too. Here’s the deal. We will be going to countries and businesses and asking them to sell us their organization, and then we’ll hire the same people to operate it as usual. The major change will be in the focus of the groups as they are re-tasked to support evacuation efforts. They will still have jobs. The shareholders will be bought out handsomely with a new coin that promises growth on its own. The same principles apply to governments. We don’t want to usurp their power. We don’t want to make changes in their structures. We just want to refocus priorities. But this leaves out the individual and the homeowners. For individuals, we need to also offer to buy them out. We need to offer them better jobs with new and meaningful tasks and higher salaries. And we need to buy out their homes and promise to either let them remain where they live almost rent-free or move to housing in new locations as they prepare to migrate out into space. We have to reassure them they will not suffer economically and make it easy to accept the move to space at the same time. If we handle the cyber currency well, they will also become rich in the process. Don’t forget Ulrich has already stated this all must be completely voluntary, which means it must be an attractive deal for everybody, besides just staying alive.”
