Twisted Heartstrings Page 18

by A Kelly Sweeney

Back between my legs, I feel his tip pushing against my wet entrance, his breath panting against my neck. “What do you do to me?” he asks.

“The same thing you do to me,” I reply in a throaty, breathless voice.

He sinks into my waiting heat, pausing when he's as deep as he can be. “Marry me, baby,” he demands.

“Yes,” I scream, as he begins to move his hips. Lifting mine, I match his pace. Sure, it may be too soon for marriage, but I know I don't want anyone else; his brother kissing me proves that. If anything came out of that debacle, it’s that not any hot man could take his place. Not that I want anyone to take his place.

Just because I agreed, it doesn't mean I want to rush into getting married. There’s still so much we need to know about one another, but that will come in time. I do know that I’m not going to let him get out of getting me a pretty ring, one that I would be proud to wear. But I'll have to tackle that later when I am not lost in my desire for this man. The man who owns me heart, body, and soul.

  About the Author

  A. Kelly Sweeney grew up as a hopeless romantic, devouring romance books like they were going out of style. The thrill of chasing words for the HEA is still something she loves to do, either through reading or her own dabbling with writing.

When not writing or reading, she can be found spending time with her family. She loves watching her two children discover the world around them. Although she and her husband are polar opposites, she loves the fact that they can find common ground with their love of movies and music. Date nights include checking out new releases or hitting up concerts in the city.

  Acknowledgments

First, I need to thank Cora Kenborn and Derek Adam for getting me to get out of my own way. Both of you encouraged me to follow my dreams, and without that, I wouldn't have taken the leap of faith to have done this. Fear was holding me back, and both of you helped me to realize that not everyone will like what I write, but those who do, I hope to touch or inspire. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the encouragement that you've given me.

There's a ton more authors I'd love to thank who've been there with advice and offers of help along my journey to make this happen. If it hadn't been for your wisdom and helpfulness, I'd never have gotten through everything I needed to in order to hit the publish button. There aren’t enough words in the world that can give my thanks for the help you've given me. Jacob Chance and Marley Valentine, the two of you have been my biggest sources of information, and I’m so glad that you have helped not only me, but others looking to pursue the path of publishing. Without you, I'd be feeling even more overwhelmed about the whole process.

I need to thank my cover designer Raven Designs for bringing an idea I had to life. Thanks for being patient with me as I figured out what I wanted, and then making it happen. I'm looking forward to working together on our next project.

Thank you to Raven Designs for using your formatting skills and making everything look amazing between the covers. Without you, this book wouldn't look as great as it does when reading.

Shauna, where do I begin? As nervous as I was to share my work with you, knowing that you would be keeping a critical eye out for errors, I'm so glad I took the chance to let you read and edit for me. It was fun watching you work your magic with helping to improve what I already had. Somewhere along the way the nervousness changed to excitement, and anxiousness settled to know your overall thoughts. We took a chance on each other, both wanting to break into the business, and now our names are in print for the world to see. I hope that this gets your name coming up as someone to consider next time they need editing done.

Next, thank you, Arien, for always being there. You've helped me with finding my visual inspiration for a few of these guys, and I'm sure it was no small feat, but fun to ogle over men. You were quick to jump in and help me with plot holes you found while beta reading and pushing me to keep going so you had more. Your suggestion to run with a wishful thought made me realize something was missing, and a little drama doesn't hurt.

Misty, you've been amazing to help with plot holes and bouncing ideas off you. Plus the minor suggestions during beta reading helped. Thank you for all your help and encouragement, especially when I was ready to throw in the towel and keep this story as just for fun. You've helped to push me to keep toward making this dream come true. I cannot thank you enough for helping to ease my stress when I’ve needed it! And of course, thanks for sending pics of hotties to make me smile and inspire me with.

My other small band of betas; Denise Long, Cheril Olmsted, Meghann Martin, Jamie Lombard, Sarah Delong and Diane Hamilton. Thank you for your feedback and taking a chance on reading my work to help me figure out where I needed to work on things. Without you, I can't begin to improve my writing to know what needs to be fixed. I look forward to our next adventure when the next book is ready for your eyes.

My family. Thank you for all your love and support with wanting to make this a reality. You never stopped cheering me on and pushing me. Andrew, jokingly you've pushed me to exceed goals I made while writing. You pushed me to surpass my goal of a daily word count several times and cheered with me when I hit the joke of 10k not once but twice. My kids, you never know how much I love you and how you are part of the driving force for me to make this dream a reality. I'm showing you that you can make your dreams come true, even if you don't have faith in yourself to do so. You never complained about my endless hours of sitting at my computer writing, ignoring you with having my headset on listening to my playlist as I typed away because I knew daddy was there for your needs.

And lastly you, the readers and bloggers. Thank you for taking a chance on an unknown author like me. I hope you've enjoyed this story and will enjoy the rest of the guys from Twisted Tragic. Their stories will be coming, I promise. Without you taking the chance on reading me, I wouldn't have the opportunity to be sharing my work with anyone. Everyone has a story, and I know I have more running around in my head that I would love to share with you. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me a shot. I look forward to hearing what your thoughts are.
