The charmof school-girl friendship is finely brought out, and the kindness ofheart, good sense and good taste which find constant expression in thebooks by Miss Rhoades do not lack for characters to show these best ofqualities by their lives. Other less admirable persons of course appearto furnish the alluring mystery, which is not all cleared up until thevery last.
