Surrogate for the Wolves Page 12

by Jasmine Wylder

“That sounds marvelous,” Angela moaned, but she was sounding rather… distracted.

Max’s hands roamed over her body. Every curve, every dip. She was so perfectly shaped, so wonderfully made. He moaned then reached in front of Tyler to tug Angela over him. Her thighs squeezed his hips and she ground against him. Tyler took up a position behind her, his hands on her hips and his lips on her neck. Max loved seeing the desire wash over Angela’s face. That was one of the best things about having Tyler with them. Max could take a moment to just watch, to absorb the beauty of Angela’s pleasure.

“Are you ready?” he murmured, running his hands up her thighs.

She smiled down at him while Tyler pulled her red hair out of the way. “Very much so,” she breathed.

“Thank God,” Tyler moaned, grinding himself against Angela who in turn ground herself against Max. They swapped kisses, Max and Tyler fighting for Angela’s attention.

Max was overwhelmed by the depth of love and desire he felt. He hadn’t known what true passion was until he met Angela. In the past his women were sensual, confident, knowledgeable. They knew how to make him feel good. But Angela? She not only made him feel good, but she made him feel safe. She made him feel loved. He didn’t have to be angry when she was with him. He never realized just how much he used his anger as a shield until she was in his life.

“We’ll take this slower and gentler since you just gave birth,” Tyler said, once they were all undressed and Max had retrieved various toys.

He’d been researching online how to get her comfortable with sex again in her changing body. He turned on the vibrating wand while Tyler positioned Angela over him. They weren’t tying her this time, just in case the babies woke hungry. Tyler tangled his hands in Angela’s hair while Max ran the wand up her thigh. She shivered, moaning with pleasure as Tyler pushed her head down. She allowed him to guide her and Max watched while he traced a pattern with the vibrator around and around. He kissed her hip as her legs started to tremble the closer he got to her clit.

When he got to the delicate bundle of nerves, Angela jerked away, crying out. Tyler held her fast by the upper arms, whispering in her ear. Max watched her carefully, running the vibrator down her thigh and back to her clit. Her whole body writhed, and Tyler worked hard to keep her in place. Max chuckled as he tormented her, bringing her to the edge of climax again and again but denying that final push.

“Fuck me,” Angela begged. “I want to feel you deep inside of me. Fuck me, now. Please. Please!”

Desire swelled up through Max. With a growl that was echoed by his wolf, he dropped the vibrator and grabbed a bottle of lube. Tyler pulled Angela up, so she was laying on him. Max grunted as Tyler pushed himself into their mate, groaning as he did so. That combined with the small sounds that Angela made nearly drove him crazy.

“I’m fucking your ass raw,” he said in a gravelly voice, spreading her ass cheeks. He wanted to be inside her so bad that he wasn’t even willing to find the condoms in the nightstand. He’d wash up after.

“Do it,” Angela moaned, twisting to smile at him. “And give me a good spanking while you’re at it. I’ve been a naughty girl.”

“You have been,” Max agreed. He smacked her ass, his hand still wet with lube. Angela jerked, crying out, while Tyler kissed her neck and shoulder. He grinned over her naked body at Max, who spanked her again. “You have been terrible. So stubborn. Never doing what you’re told. Now apologize.”

He spanked her again, a little harder this time. Angela yelped, her fingers digging into the blankets beneath Tyler. Tyler reached down and gave her a sharp smack before rubbing her tender ass. Max watched as her skin flushed red, then gave her another spank, enjoying the way her round ass jiggled.

“I told you to apologize,” he growled to her.

“I’m sorry,” she simpered, still with a grin on her face.

“Little minx.” Tyler laughed as he thrust his hips up. “She’s not sorry at all. But you will be by the time we’re done with you, won’t you?”

He caught her face in his hand and kissed her roughly. Max tugged on himself a couple times, coating himself with the lube, then pressed against her ass. She tightened, not letting him in, so he drew back and spanked her until her ass was nice and red. He tested her with a finger, finding her more open now, and slowly pushed himself in.

“God, I love it when you make that noise,” he snarled, forgetting for a moment he was meant to be ‘punishing’ her. “Do it again and I might forgive you.”

Angela panted, holding tightly to Tyler while he held her in place. “Make me,” she taunted. “Or are you not man enough?”

Max bit back a laugh—he found he liked this snarky, belligerent version of his mate. He glanced at Tyler, raising a brow, and Tyler nodded in response. They started to thrust at the same time, Max holding Angela’s hips in place while Tyler stopped her from struggling. Soon, she was crying out, her head bobbing and all three of them riding around on the mattress like bumper cars. Max grunted as his loins tightened even further. He groaned, panting breathlessly as he spanked Angela again and again, until she clamped down on him, stopping him from moving. By Tyler’s red face, Max could see he was in the same boat. They both roared together as they came, Angela’s own voice lost in the mix.

Once finished, Max slowly withdrew himself and grabbed the aloe vera, cooling Angela’s hot, abused ass. She lay on her side, hair falling all about her while her lips parted slightly, a dazed look on her face.

“That was amazing,” Tyler purred as he stroked her arms. “You are wonderful, beautiful. I love you so much.”

Max took up his side behind her and lightly kissed her shoulder. “You’re smart, kind, strong and always willing to give. I love you, too.”

Angela smiled, a smile as beautiful as a lily and as bright as the sun. “I love you both, too.”

They continued their aftercare, making sure that Angela was well cared for before the three of them settled down, laying on the big bed. Every muscle in Max’s body was utterly relaxed. He could lay here forever. Angela’s hand found his and she let out a satisfied sigh.

Once more, Max was so thankful he’d been wrong. He loved her more than he thought was possible. He loved their twins. If he’d had his way, they’d all be miserable and regretful. But Angela had stood up to him in the best way and now he had his partner, his mate and two perfect children. Every day they filled his life with joy.

“This is gonna work.” He murmured, more to himself than either of the others.

“Of course it will,” Angela agreed. “And if it doesn’t… well, I’ll give you something to work for.”

Tyler laughed and nuzzled at her breasts. “I like the sound of that.”

And so did Max. He was going to work for this—every day for the rest of his life.

  Epilogue

Angela never thought that taking two hours to go hang out with the girls in her book club could feel like both a relief and a worry. She hadn’t been away from the property since Max and Tyler brought her and the twins back home. They had changed quite a bit while she was in the hospital.

They’d taken the wall out between their bedrooms and put in an extra-large bed, so the three of them could sleep comfortably together. The third bedroom they’d turned into a nursery and they had moved a bunch of things around in the office so there was room for a pullout in there, if ever one of them needed a little extra room or sleep.

Even so, life was pretty exhausting at the moment. Angela loved the twins, so much so that sometimes it felt difficult to breathe. They were growing rapidly, though, and never did sync up their schedules. It felt like there was always one or the other needing to be fed or changed or rocked to sleep. Tyler and Max always helped her when they could but being the only morticians in town meant that when they had a client, they couldn’t just pass them off to someone else.

Tonight, though, they insisted that she get out of the house and spend time with her friends. She needed a
break, too, they said, so that she could recharge her batteries. It was best for all of them. And so, she left, for the for time in almost half a year.

“What’s this road trip you guys are talking about?” she asked Miriam, helping to arrange the veggies and hummus on the platter.

“Jamie, Wanda and I talked about going up to Canada for a while,” Miriam replied. “But with my nephews, I don’t think I’m going to be able to do it. It’s disappointing but I can’t exactly just leave them without someone to watch them.”

Jamie snatched a carrot off the platter and scoffed. “Except Sandra already said she’d look after them. Are you sure your cold feet don’t have something to do with those sexy wolves, Kristoff and Lucas?”

Angela straightened. She knew that Miriam had had eyes for Tyler’s cousins (one on his father’s side, the other on his mother’s) for quite a while, but she also knew Miriam insisted that she was never going to get herself mixed up with them. She thought they were shady people and didn’t trust them not to be involved in illegal activity. It was strange, but they were the only wolves that Miriam thought were involved in something like that.

At Jamie’s prodding, though, Miriam whirled. Her eyes flashed, showing an anger that was rare for her. “I don’t even want to think about them! I told you, it’s because of my nephews. And it’s not just about where they’re staying, it’s me taking care of them, too. My brother still hasn’t told me where he is, and I have to watch my bank account right now.”

Jamie held up her hands and backed off. Wanda, Chloe, and Sandra came in, shaking the rain from their hair. As they went through all their greetings, Angela sidled up close to Miriam and murmured, too quiet for the others to hear, “I thought that you were starting to get along with Kristoff and Lucas.”

Miriam put the platter on the table and gave her a side-eye, clearly telling her to shut up. “Why would you say that?” Even her tone was frosty.

“Because I now live on the road going up to their places. There’s nowhere else to go on that road, and I’ve seen you driving by quite a few times. One day I figured that you must have been up there for almost five hours. And that was when Bill phoned me trying to manipulate me into coming in because you were home with a cold.”

Miriam flinched. “I don’t want to think about them.”

What was going on? Angela frowned but Miriam put on a happy smile, as though nothing was bothering her. She grabbed the wine glasses from the cupboard and danced over to greet the rest of the girls. The conversation quickly turned to the road trip. Angela thought about offering to lend her some money, but Miriam quickly brushed off any and all attempts to cajole her into going with a firm no.

“That’s not to say that someone can’t take my spot,” she said, then pointed at Chloe and Sandra. “Like either of you. I know Angie can’t because of the twins, but you two haven’t done anything away from your wolves in quite a while. There is a reason they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, you know.”

Chloe smirked but shook her head. “I can’t. My skin condition, remember?”

Jamie and Wanda didn’t know that Chloe was a vampire. And Miriam’s smile faded slightly, as though she was just remembering. Angela made a mental note to talk to her about it. Finding out vampires were real was a scary thing, especially when one of them ended up being a good friend. Everybody else just thought Chloe had a skin condition that made her sick if she was exposed to too much sunlight.

“What about you?” Miriam turned to Sandra. “What’s your excuse? Worried that your men will just go chasing after you because they’re unable to function without you in their lives anymore?”

Sandra laughed. “Oh, they’ll be fine without me. They’ve stopped fighting entirely these days. They’re getting along so much better than they used to.”

“Max and Tyler got into a fight last week over who had to go to work and who got to stay home and help me,” Angela said as she took her seat. “I wish they didn’t beat each other up like that, but I’m starting to think they like it.”

Sandra laughed. “Probably. I’ll think about the road trip. Might be fun actually.”

Angela nodded at her. If she could, she’d have happily agreed to go on the road trip. Having something that was a little extra fun was always good. “Maybe once things are all settled down a bit, the six of us could take a trip up to the city for a day since so many of us can’t go on this road trip. That way we can sigh and moan about how hard it is to stay home while you two go on adventures.”

She winked at Jamie and Wanda, both of whom smirked.

Miriam hadn’t sat yet, and Angela caught a glimpse of something else on her face. Not the happy smile. More like… a look somewhere between jealousy and sadness. She frowned as she put a few veggies on her plate. Normally they’d get something sweet and decadent, but Wanda was serious about cutting out sugars and they all wanted to support her.

“Are you okay?” Angela asked Miriam.

“What?” Miriam jumped, as though she’d been lost in her own world. “Oh. Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. I was just thinking. It’s great that you gals have found your guys. And Wanda! What are these rumors about you and Roman and Omar?”

Wanda flushed a dark, dark red. “What rumors?”

Miriam smirked at her and returned to the fridge, where she pulled out a bottle of champagne. “Who wants some expensive poison juice? In honor of our dear Angie finally being able to drink alcohol again, I got a bottle.”

“Yeah!” Angela grabbed a glass and held it out. “Gimme that poison, baby. It’s been too long.”

Wanda and Jamie both held out their glasses as well, but Sandra declined and Chloe, flushing, said she shouldn’t have any either. Angela sipped at her champagne, wondering why Miriam had suddenly stiffened. Was it because they had declined even though she’d sprung for the really fancy, expensive stuff?

Of course, Angela figured it out just as Wanda squealed. “You’re both pregnant?”

Sandra and Chloe glanced at each other in surprise and then burst out into giggles. Sandra poured herself some apple juice and lifted her glass. “I guess we are! We didn’t plan it this way, I swear.”

“When are you due?” Jamie asked, clapping her hands together. There was a wistful expression to her face, but it still shone with joy.

There was only one face in their little group that wasn’t smiling and beaming. Miriam quietly put the champagne back into the fridge and slipped away as Jamie and Wanda bombarded Chloe and Sandra with question after question. Including how they’d know about who the father was. Angela knew the answer to that one—it didn’t matter, both men where the father—and so she excused herself and followed Miriam out.

She found her friend at the end of the hallway, going through her game collection. Angela put a hand on her arm, but Miriam didn’t look at her. She was chewing her lip and tears were glimmering in her eyes.

“Miriam, something’s wrong. Please tell me what,” Angela said softly.

“It’s nothing. I’m just being silly. Please, go back and enjoy the party.” Miriam gave her that fake smile again. “I’m just going to find a game for us to play.”

  Angela didn’t move.

Miriam turned away, her shoulders slumping. “I guess I’m just feeling lost and confused and jealous. I just… I know that they weren’t actively trying to get pregnant, they just were letting nature take its course. And now they’re both having babies. And I don’t want to ruin this by feeling sorry for myself.”

“Your time will come,” Angela said soothingly.

“No, it won’t. You remember how I said I used to be a midwife?”

At that, Angela had to laugh. “I think I remember it, yeah. It was when I was in labor and you saved my twins’ lives because you knew what to do when nobody else did, as I recall.”

“Okay, smartass.” Miriam shook her head, a brief, genuine smile crossing her face. “Well… the reason I quit was because I found out that I can’t have kids.”

p; Angela’s eyes widened.

“I’m infertile,” Miriam continued and this time tears spilled down her cheeks. “I’m never going to have my chance to be pregnant, Angela. And I thought I was okay with that. I decided that there were other ways I could be a mother. Ways that were just as important. I was even thinking about going back to being a midwife.”

“I’m sorry.” Angela hugged her friend. “But you’re right, there are other ways for you to be a mother. I mean, just look at the way you’re taking care of your nephews. You’re amazing with them.”

Miriam clenched her hands. “But when my brother comes back, and he always does, he’s going to take them again. I can’t keep children from their real parents. And even if I was able to keep them…”

  “What?”

“Who is going to want to be with a broke woman who can’t keep a job with three kids to boot?” Miriam pressed her fingertips to her forehead. “Ignore me. I’m being overly dramatic. It’s just, a lot is happening and Kristoff and Lucas—”

She cut herself off and Angela hugged her again. She wanted to ask what about Kristoff and Lucas but from Miriam’s reaction to them before she wasn’t certain she ought to. Instead, she comforted her friend the best she could, until Chloe called to see what was taking them so long.

Miriam put on that happy smile again and bounded back with a game in her hand. Angela, however, lingered. Was there anything she could do or was it better to just be a silent support? Miriam was an intensely private person. Always willing to lend a hand to someone else, but when it came to accepting help… well, that was another story entirely.

“Hey.” Chloe came down the hallway. “You coming back?”

Angela gestured for her to come closer and then whispered, “Something’s up with Miriam. She’s been going up past my place a lot lately, but she doesn’t want to even think about Lucas and Kristoff. My boys have been a little out of the loop with the babies taking up so much time, but do you know what’s happening?”

Chloe glanced down the hall and shook her head. “Remember that Kristoff and Lucas would often join Tyler and Max at their parties. I don’t know exactly what’s happening, but I do know that they were laughing and talking about Miriam not long ago… Well. Let’s just say they can be real assholes sometimes.”
