Blow My Fuse (Hollywood Demons Book 2) Page 6

by Autumn Jones Lake

I grip the fabric and yank it up over my head, tossing it in the direction of the hamper. “Better?”

  “Much.”

I shuffle closer and slip my arms under her thighs, resting my hands on her stomach. She shifts and plants her feet on my shoulders. “Thata girl. My shoulders are your footrests. Don’t forget it.” I turn and kiss her ankle, and she laughs softly. I press a kiss to her other ankle and flick my tongue over her calves.

Bending forward, I sweep my tongue through her slit. “Fucking heaven,” I mumble against her slick flesh. I stop and suck at her clit, and she bucks her hips, grinding hard against my face.

  I groan even louder.

“Chaser!” she shrieks and gasps. Her fingers dig into my forearms, but I don’t let up. A tube of toothpaste, a cup, and a razor all go crashing to the floor as she scrambles for something to hold onto. Reaching out blind, I grab one of her hands and set it on my head. Immediately, she curls her fingers in my hair and tugs.

“Good girl,” I encourage. Love how loud and uninhibited my girl’s gotten. “Show me how much you love a good tongue-fucking.” I dive in again. Licking and teasing until she’s frantic. I keep my hands on her hips, pinning her down, sucking harder.

“Please,” she begs. “Please let me come.” Her body trembles. “I’m so close.”

I release her hip and slide two fingers inside her, while working my tongue against her clit.

“There!” She explodes, grinding and bucking against me. The hottest fucking sounds in the world.

I reach down, pry my belt loose with one hand and unbutton my jeans.

“Chaser!” Her butt slips on the counter, and she tips forward.

“I got you.” I grab her around the waist and pull her down on top of me. My back hits the bathroom floor with a thump. Mallory wastes no time unzipping my jeans the rest of the way, grabbing my cock and sliding home.

“Fuck,” I groan, squeezing my eyes shut. “I didn’t say you could have that yet.”

“What are you going to do about it?” she challenges.

I grip her hips tighter, holding her down while I thrust up. We’re wild and frantic in the tiny space until I finally slam my head against the wall one too many times.

“Fuck this.” I power up, lifting us off the floor while somehow keeping her impaled on my cock, and shuffle our way into the bedroom.

She lets out the wildest laugh-moans the entire way, fueling me to get there faster.

We fall onto the mattress, and I cover her body with my own.

She presses her palms against my cheeks and stares up at me. “I love you.”

“Love you, too.” I kiss the tip of her nose. “Wrap your legs around me.”

That’s all it takes. Five seconds later, I’m groaning against her neck, biting her shoulder and seeing fucking stars.

She keeps kissing my cheek, along my jaw, and running her fingers through my hair.

When my brain can function again, I press a kiss to her lips, then flop down on the bed next to her. “Come here,” I whisper, flapping my hand in the air.

“Aw, Chaser,” she teases. “Are you all worn out from a little hard work?”

“Little? Woman, not many men could lift you off the floor and carry you in here without missing a beat.”

“I wouldn’t know.” She chuckles and rests her head against my chest. “And you’re the only man I care about.”

  And thank fuck for that.

“Good.” I wrap my arm around her and pat her ass.

“So, your band meeting must have gone well?”

I reach down and hike her thigh over my leg. “I think so. I forgot all about it once I caught you coming out of the shower.”

She swats my chest. “I’m serious.”

  “So am I.”

“You’re impossible.” She moves to roll away from me, but I hold her tight.

“Yeah, it went well. Val got us dates opening for Shooting Fences at the Coliseum.”

“Oh my God! Are you serious? That’s…that’s huge!”

  “Yup.”

She squeezes her eyes shut. “Thank God. I was so worried Davey would screw things up for you guys.”

“Hey.” I rub my thumb over her cheek until she opens her eyes and peers up at me. “Even if he did, I wouldn’t change a thing about how we handled him.”

“Neither would I. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been worried.”

I close my eyes and say a quick thanks to whatever forces in the universe brought this woman into my life.

“Val wants to know if you’re still up for doing our next video.”

“Of course I am. She can’t scare me off that easily.” She runs her hand over my chest. “Do you still want me to?”

I take a deep breath and think over how to phrase my answer. “As long as you’re sure it’s not going to have a negative impact on your career.”

“Why? Your video is what launched my career.”

“Yeah, but you’re getting more serious auditions now. I don’t want you labeled as some band dude’s girlfriend.”

  “You’re not ‘some band dude.’”

“You know what I mean. Just talk it over with your agent and make sure it’s still good for you.”

“Okay,” she whispers. “Thank you, Chaser.”

I twist my fingers in a lock of her hair, winding it into a curl before setting it free. “The video won’t have any firehoses this time. Val says we’re going ‘simple and rugged.’ Whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean.”

“That sounds much better. Not just for me but for you guys. Something stripped down and simple might help set you apart from everyone else.”

“She had bad news, too. MTV yanked the ‘Candy Jar’ video. Davey’s revenge on us I guess.”

She covers her mouth with her hand. “Will you be mad if I say I’m not torn up over that?”

“Nope.” I sit up and kiss her forehead. “Not even a little.”

  Mallory

“Let’s wash up.” Chaser turns and glances at the clock. “We were supposed to meet the guys about half an hour ago. They want to go out and celebrate.”

“Do you want me to join you?”

He stares at me as if I’d just asked if the world was flat. “Yes, I want you with me.” One corner of his mouth lifts. “I got distracted by your very fine form coming out of the shower all wet and sexy.”

We clean up quickly, and he holds my blow dryer while I try to fix my still-damp, messy hair into something somewhat presentable.

I catch his eye in the mirror. “You think anyone would believe the great Chaser Adams helps me dry my hair?”

“If they knew I have the privilege of doing it while staring at your naked body, they would.”

As much criticism as I’ve taken on everything from my nose (not button enough) to my breasts (too big and somehow also too small) to my ankles (too bird-like) since I arrived in Hollywood, it’s impossible to be self-conscious when Chaser constantly lavishes me with compliments.

I signal for him to shut off the dryer, finish curling my bangs, and shoo him out, so I can spray a cloud of Extra Super Hold AquaNet over my head.

“What should I wear?” I ask when I find him in the bedroom.

“Sweater?” He grazes his chin with the edge of his hand. “Something that comes up to here?”

  “You’re hilarious.”

He drops his hand and shrugs. “You have anything white? You look pretty in white.”

“Hmmm…” I poke through my dresser drawer, pulling out white underwear and a strapless bra, tossing them on the bed before heading over to the closet. “I was given this after a catalog shoot, but I wasn’t sure where it would be appropriate to wear.”

I pull out the white, stretchy dress with plunging neckline and glittering crystals sewn into the fabric. It fit like a second skin and made me feel sexy when I wore it for photographs on a closed set. I’d be too uncomfortable wearing it in public without Chaser by my side.
/>   He narrows his eyes as he studies the dress. “Is it a…halter top?”

  “No, it’s a dress. The material’s stretchy.”

When I finally get it on and everything into place, I do a quick twirl for him. “It looks like the top half of Marilyn Monroe’s dress from that movie.”

I press my hands to the top of my thighs and lean over, imitating the famous pose from Some Like It Hot while also checking to make sure my boobs won’t pop free. “Well, at least if I find myself bending over while standing on a subway grate at some point tonight, my skirt won’t fly up.”

“Funny girl. You bend over in that thing, you’ll flash your ass to the world, and I’ll be gouging out the eyeballs of every man who takes a peek.” As if he didn’t just threaten to maim half of Hollywood, he holds up a pair of jeans. “I’m dressing up too. Freshly laundered gray jeans and Chucks.”

  “Fancy.”

  “Thought you’d approve.”

I grab a pair of silver heels and a small silver clutch from the top shelf of my closet.

Someone bangs on our front door.

Chaser glances up. “Probably the guys.”

“I’ll answer it. Finish getting dressed,” I call over my shoulder.

Alvin and Garrett’s voices come through clearly, but I still stop and check the peephole before opening the door.

“Wow.” Garrett whistles and allows his gaze to roam over me for a few seconds longer than comfortable. “I guess you’re coming out with us, Mallory?”

“Well, uh, Chaser said…” I step back for them to come inside.

Alvin shakes his head and mouths “ignore him” behind Garrett’s back. “You look lovely.”

  “Thank you, Alvin.”

“Yes, she’s coming with us.” Chaser’s warning tone can’t be mistaken. He strides into the room, shirtless and still buckling his belt. “What’s your problem, Garrett?”

“Nothing, we’ve been waiting. You said you’d be right down.”

Chaser’s mouth quirks as he catches my eye. “Yeah, had to take care of something first.”

My cheeks heat up, but I can’t tear my gaze away from him.

“We know,” Jacob shouts, strolling through the doorway. He nods at me. “Could hear her shrieking like a banshee a block away.”

The heat from my face spreads down my neck. “W-what?”

Garrett doubles over laughing, while Alvin just shakes his head.

“We thought it was an earthquake at first.” Jacob points at the ceiling. “Except all the noises and shaking were coming from above.”

Chaser’s expression darkens, but he casually slips on his shirt and moves closer to me, curling his arm around my waist. “I know you’re unfamiliar with the concept, but those are the sounds a satisfied woman makes.”

Frowning, I shift my gaze Chaser’s way. How is that helpful?

Jacob doesn’t seem to detect the threat in Chaser’s tone. I’ve always assumed Jacob was the kind of kid who needed to be electrocuted a few times before he’d stop sticking his fingers in the electrical socket.

“Well, maybe next time, you should invite us up for a little education.” Jacob smirks.

  Garrett and Alvin fall silent.

“What did you say?” Chaser’s low, threatening tone wipes the smile off Jacob’s face.

“I’m just fucking with you.” Jacob lifts his chin at me. “Mal knows I’m kidding, right?”

Sure, this is the face of a person who’s in on the joke.

“Stop being a dick, Jacob.” Alvin moves between Chaser and Jacob. “Are we going or not?”

“Yeah, let’s go.” Jacob jerks his head toward the door. “Although Garrett and I talked about checking out Seven Sins instead of The Palace.”

Chaser stops moving. “I thought you wanted to have a laugh at Wishing Well?”

“I don’t mind,” I whisper to Chaser. “It’s fine.” Sure, Seven Sins is a strip club. And more than one person has suggested I apply for a job there since I arrived in Hollywood. According to Vickie, the girls are stunning, and it’s where most of the local bands find their future wives.

“Worried Bongo will offer Mallory a job?” Jacob punctuates his obnoxious question with a laugh.

“Let’s just go to The Palace like we planned,” Alvin pleads. “Rich is always asking us to stop by. You know he’ll set us up with a private table, free food, and drinks. Seven Sins ain’t giving us shit for free.”

“Good point,” Garrett says. “Free gets my vote.”

While Alvin diffused the situation for now, I’m still not reassured as we head out into the night.

  Chapter Twelve

  Mallory

By the time we make it to The Palace, my feet are killing me. The line to get inside runs down the block. I glance down at my sleek silver heels and say a quick prayer for my pinched toes.

“I can’t believe anyone lines up to see these poseurs,” Jacob grumbles.

The hunk of muscle manning the door scans the crowd. He stops on our party of five and waves us up front.

“Good to see you.” He high-fives Chaser. “Wish you guys were on stage tonight,” he adds in a lower voice.

“When it’s time to hire a bodyguard, the job is yours, Robbie.” Garrett slaps the bouncer on the back.

“Fuck that. I’ll do it for free right now. You going on tour soon?”

The guys glance at each other. “We have a few things lined up.”

“You know where to find me.” He tips his head and nods. “Evening, Miss Mallory. You’re lovely as always.”

  “Thank you, Robbie.”

He raises his hand and whistles, sending hand signals to someone inside. “Go on. They’ll set up a table for you.”

Jacob and Garrett head straight for the bar.

“Don’t let them get too fucked up,” Chaser says to Alvin.

  “Mallory!”

I search the crowd for whoever called my name. My gaze lands on the girl I’d met at the audition the other day.

Thankfully, the club’s too loud for anyone to overhear my groan.

“Hey, Pamela!” I raise my hand and wave back.

She struts over, wearing what appears to be a painted-on silver mini-dress that barely covers her crotch. A tall, shirtless, tattooed man is glued to her side. She drops the man’s hand to lean in and air kiss both of my cheeks. “I thought that was you.”

I paste on a fake smile and force some polite enthusiasm into my voice. “Good to see you again.”

Pamela runs what I can only describe as a predatory gaze over Chaser, then tugs the man at her side forward. “This is my boyfriend—”

“Andrew Lane,” Chaser sticks out his hand. “Big fan. Vicious Vandals at the Troubadour was the first show my buddy and I saw when we moved out here. You’re a beast on the drums.”

“Chaser Adams.” Andrew shakes Chaser’s hand with violent enthusiasm. “Been watching the rise of Kickstart. I dig your style, man. You’re like one of the last genuine bands on the strip these days. You have some amazing riffs.”

I’ve never witnessed Chaser tongue-tied or starstruck before, but it takes him a few seconds to mutter a quick, “Thank you.”

Obviously, this guy’s band is a big enough deal to make Chaser drop his usual air of cool.

“Mallory Dove.” Andrew’s gaze slides over my body. “‘The Candy Jar’ girl.” His deep, silky voice can easily be heard above all the noise. “You could be Pammy’s little sister.” He rubs his hand over his chin while he continues his slow eye-fondle.

I really wish I’d worn a sweater like Chaser first suggested. “Uh…

Her raises one suggestive eyebrow. “Have you been to one of our shows?”

I cast a nervous glance Chaser’s way. I don’t want to insult this guy I just met who Chaser seems to have a lot of respect for. While I’ve heard of Vicious Vandals, it’s not like I’d go out of my way to see them live or anything. Or be able to pick their drummer out of a crowd.

  And
rew’s eyes linger on my face. “Nah, I definitely would’ve remembered you.”

“Not yet,” I answer lamely. “Sorry. I haven’t been out here long.”

“That’s cool.” Andrew waves his hand in the air, like it’s no big deal, which at least helps me feel less stupid.

Truthfully, as handsome as he is, Andrew’s personality reminds me of a goofy puppy. Although, as I run my gaze over his tall, lean, muscled, heavily inked frame, which he clearly enjoys showing off, I can’t stop thinking about what Pamela said about other parts of his anatomy.

“We definitely need to catch Kickstart’s next show.” Pamela smiles up at her boyfriend sweetly. “Since they’re basically the new and improved Vicious Vandals.”

Touché. Inside, I’m laughing at her comeback for Andrew’s earlier dig.

  Andrew smirks at her.

Wait a second? Didn’t she make fun of me for starring in a music video? And here she is dating a rocker herself.

“Well, we’re meeting people.” Pamela touches my shoulder. “I heard you got a call back too, so I’ll definitely see you soon.”

  Goodie. Can’t wait.

She slants a look Chaser’s way. “I’m sure I’ll see you again soon too.”

“Later,” Andrew calls over his shoulder.

Jacob and Garrett leave the bar, tripping over themselves to get to us. Alvin follows behind, shaking his head.

“How do you know Pamela Scott?” Jacob’s dumbfounded face would make me laugh if I wasn’t so rattled by running into my doppelganger.

  “We met at an audition.”

“You’re auditioning with Pamela Scott?” His eyebrows crawl all the way up his forehead.

His shock is a bit insulting. “What exactly do you think I do all day, Jacob?”

“Curl your hair. Try on clothes.” He shrugs. “Fuck Chaser?”

“Knock it off, dick,” Chaser growls.

  “What? It’s a compliment.”

“When we met, she made a point to tell me about her boyfriend’s massive cock.” I smile at him sweetly. “So, I don’t think you have a shot with her, Jacob.”

Garrett rolls his eyes. “As if the whole world hasn’t already seen Andrew Lane’s massive dick.”
