Love On Anchor Island: An Anchor Island Novel Page 12

by Terri Osburn

Nick Stamatis did his time in fancy kitchens but his laid-back life as head cook of Dempsey's Bar & Grill, the most popular eatery on Anchor island, suits him just fine. Despite his playboy reputation, he’s a family man at heart. But if history repeats, he isn’t likely to live long enough to have one of his own.

When Nick sticks his nose into Lauren’s business, she tells him exactly where to go, but it isn’t long before the realization dawns—she needs his help. As he teaches her the ropes of running her own kitchen, sparks ignite, and soon they’re stirring up more than either expected.

But can two people who have sworn off love really make it work? Or will Lauren’s past, and Nick’s unknown future, keep this cautious couple from finding their happily ever after?

  Acknowledgments

Thank you to Kimberly Dawn for coming through in the clutch once again on the editing front. That said, I am solely responsible for the content of this book so any mistakes or errors are mine alone.

Anchor Island is affectionately based on the very real Ocracoke Island at the base of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. This story takes place after the island has been hit hard by a hurricane, and that’s exactly what happened to Ocracoke in 2018. If you read these books and wish you could visit Anchor Island, I highly suggest booking a trip to Ocracoke. You’ll find the lighthouse, the Blackbeard museum, and even Dempsey’s Bar & Grill, though in real life it’s called Howard’s Pub. If you do venture onto the island, I hope you’ll send me pictures of your adventures!
