The experimenter was Ehrenfried Pfeiffer who wrote in his unpublished memoirs that while meeting Steiner to discuss the ether-forces in 1920-1921, he also met Guenther Wachsmuth at the same time who then 'became a lifelong friend.' The three often discussed the forces and energies of the ether. As a consequence, Wachsmuth published his book about the etheric forces in 1924, while Pfeiffer was appointed to the task to begin with me experiments... 119. Harold T. Wilkins, Mysteries Solved and Unsolved, Odhams Press, 1958, page 121. With John Andruss, Wilkins probably meant John Andrews, a Pennsylvania inventor who, in 1916, went to me New York Navy Yard in a Packard with a friend. They claimed to have driven from Pittsburgh and that their car was powered by a fuel developed by Andrews. The fuel consisted principally on water, and Andrews demonstrated his fuel to the Navy the next day. He poured a half gallon of water into the engine's tank, men added a few drops of green liquid from a vial he had taken from his vest pocket. The engine ran. A report was made to Secretary of the Navy Joseph Daniels who then ordered more tests, but Andrews could not be found and was unable to make the $2 million deal he wanted. In 1942, reporter James L. Kilgallen discovered Andrews living on a Pennsylvania farm. Andrews, who was now trying to develop synthetic rubber, said he had forgotten the formula for his fuel. In 1953 Andrews died, his secret intact. Interestingly, in 1916 a Louis Enricht of Long Island called a press conference to show how he could turn water into fuel with a green pill. Enricht, who had a past of embezzlement, ended up in Sing Sing, and the secret of his green pill was lost forever. Curiously, as recently as 1973 a Guido Franch demonstrated to reporter Tom Valentine what he called 'mota' (atom spelled backwards) fuel, made from green granules and water. The fuel which would not mix with water, burned clean. Franch told Valentine that the fuel was made from coal with a process he had learned when he was 15 from a German scientist named Kraft, who also had taught Andrews the secret.
