Tattoos & Unicorns Page 29

by Kayla Carson

We all worked so hard on making our dream come true, that when I asked Shannon for a little favor she jumped at the opportunity. I knew exactly where Owen would be, so after dropping Harley off with her I got in my SUV and headed to our shop.

When I pulled into the parking lot twenty minutes later, I smiled at the sight of his motorcycle parked by the door. It was Sunday, and we were closed for the day but he was finishing up a song he'd been working on for an up and coming country singer.

I used my key to enter the building, and to my surprise I found him browsing through a selection of records.

“Can I help you find something?” I asked, as I approached him.

  “I'm just browsing.”

“Who's your favorite?” I asked, sweetly.

He turned to face me then, and pulled me into his arms.

“You.” He whispered, before pressing his lips to mine. “Recycling my old pick up lines?”

“If it isn't broke, why fix it?”

  He chuckled. “Where's Harley?”

“Uncle Corey, and aunt Shannon took her for the day so that she could play with Kyleigh, and Rhett.”

“That boy better keep his hands to himself.”

I rolled my eyes. “That boy isn't even two years old yet.”

“It's better to teach em' while they're young.”

“Is that why you turned out so good?”

He shot his brow up in question. “Why are you buttering me up, Unicorn?”

“I may have an ulterior motive.” I admitted.

“Alright Mrs. Foster. Lay it on me.” He smirked.

“I want to go for a ride.” I said, biting my bottom lip.

“I think that can be arranged.”

I pulled away from him then, clapping my hands excitedly.

“I'll be outside!” I said, before rushing out the door.

I could hear his laughter behind me, and then I watched him through the window as he turned out the lights, and locked the building up. He tucked his keys into his pocket, and when he reached me I grabbed the helmet I'd brought from home and put it securely on my head.

“Looks like you came prepared.” He teased. “What if I had said no?”

“When have you ever told me no?” I countered.

  “It's happened once or twice.”

  “The lies we tell ourselves.”

He shook his head before tossing his leg over the side of the bike, and adjusting his helmet. I climbed on behind him, and snuggled into him. My favorite scent enveloping me.

“Did you have a destination in mind?” He asked, as the bike's engine roared to life.

  “Someplace private.”

“How private?” He asked in a flirty tone.

  “Use your imagination.”

Without another word, he pulled back on the throttle, and the two of us pulled out onto the road. The instant I felt the wind I closed my eyes. I had missed the bike during my pregnancy, and took every chance I could to get on it. Owen even taught me how to drive it, although I'm still a little shaky. I'd much rather prefer to let him take control. At least on the bike.

I had no idea where we were going, but I didn't care either. I'd probably follow this man to the end of the earth if he asked me to. Our life together hasn't been all perfect though. In fact the first few weeks of Harley's life were extremely testing on our relationship. Seeing, and holding a baby every day that he knew wasn't biologically his was hard on him.

We talked about everything, and were open and honest with each other the entire way. I let him have his feelings, and go through the motions. I couldn't imagine how I would feel if the roles were reversed. Harley was a constant reminder that I had been with the man who killed his father. It took time, but eventually he was able to come to terms with things.

When she learned to walk, she only wanted to go to him. When it was time to try baby food, he's the one who got her to eat. And when she called him 'Dada' for the first time he became an entirely new man. Every doubt, and fear that he seemed to have in the beginning just washed away.

The thought of him rejecting her, and resenting me after everything scared the hell out of me. But we worked hard, and worked together. Our little family was everything that I had ever dreamed of and so much more. I gave Owen a lot of credit for helping me find myself, but the truth is I think I always knew who I was meant to be. A mom, a wife, and a damn good business owner.

Morgan bought me out of Sew New last year, which really came in handy when we were building our house. We were able to pay it off completely, which paved the way to open Lyrics & Vinyl. I still helped with the marketing aspect of things from time to time, but she really stepped up and learned to stand on her own merit. Even her father couldn't argue with her success. It seemed like all roads led me here, and there wasn't a day that passed by that I didn't thank God for putting Owen in my path.

If I had to guess, I'd say we were on the road for about half an hour before Owen pulled off the main road and onto a small gravel pathway. I tried to ask him where we were, but he just slowed down and kept driving. He knew how much I hated surprises, and yet he still kept right on trying to surprise me.

The trees around us began to get more and more dense the further we traveled. The sun was peaking through in places, sending rays shooting directly into my eyes. I squinted, letting my hands fall from Owen's waist down to his thighs.

  “Unicorn.” He warned.

I gave him a little squeeze, and casually let my thumbs skim the inner seam of his jeans. He sped up a little, and I couldn't help but laugh. I knew that I was playing a dangerous game, but I couldn't help that I enjoyed it.

When the bike slowed again, I took the time to look around. I didn't recognize the area, but I just held on and waited for him to stop. A few seconds later he did, and I climbed off the back of the bike and pulled my helmet off. Owen did the same, before taking our helmets and setting them on the motorcycle's seat.

“What is this place?” I asked.

“Corey and I used to come out here, and camp out. Build a fire, have a few beers. You know, guy stuff.”

  “Guy stuff?” I asked, skeptically.

“Yes.” He laughed. “We wrote some damn good songs up here.”

I took a few steps away from the bike, following the sound of rushing water.

“It's just a little brook.” Owen said, coming to stand behind me. “Makes for a pretty damn cold bath I'll tell you that much.”

This time I laughed, and he wrapped his arms around my middle.

“Now that I've got you here, what am I going to do with you?”

I turned in his arms to wrap my own around his neck. “I can think of a few things.”

He let his hands roam over my hips, stopping to cup my ass.

“If you just wanted to hook up, we could've just gone home.” He gritted out.

“Is it still called 'hooking up' if you're married?” I asked.

He crinkled his nose in thought. “Probably not.”

“Either way, I don't hate the idea of having a little fun while we're here.”

He glanced around then, as if he was trying to come up with a place that would work. I reached up to cup his face in my hands, and he looked down at me with curiosity.

“What about the bike?” I asked, biting my bottom lip.

  “The bike?”

I shrugged my shoulders innocently, and he took his jacket off before moving our helmets. He laid his jacket across the seat, and I took my own off. I watched as he removed his shirt, then I pulled mine over my head, and hung it precariously on a tree branch behind me. He pulled his belt through his jeans, and I kicked my boots off, shimmying out of mine.

I shivered as I unclasped my bra, and the crisp breeze traced itself over my warm skin. Owen left his boots on bringing his pants down to his ankles, and I carefully stepped out of my panties before adding them to the tree. I made my way back to the bike then and sat down on it sideways with his jacket beneath me.

He licked his lips as he came towards me, his shaft already growing hard. I reached up to touch his chest, and he gripped my wrists in his hands pulling me to my feet. I gasped, and he leaned down to kiss my breath away. I reached up tangling my hands in the back of his hair, and he let his fall to my ass. I moaned into his mouth as his erection brushed against my core.

He dipped his head to my neck, kissing and nipping me there and now I was shivering for a whole different reason. Before I knew it he was spinning me around so that his front was touching my back. He placed feather light kisses on each side of my neck, and then he ran one of his hands down my back, stopping on the small of it.

With a little nudge, be bent me over the bike and used his foot to gently kick my feet apart. I propped myself up on my elbows, and let out a little sigh of pleasure as he slowly slipped inside of me. He ran his hands up my back until he was gripping my shoulders. He began to massage, and knead the muscles there, all while working his hips in a tantalizingly slow back and forth motion.

“Owen.” I practically moaned his name, as his hands expertly worked out all of the kinks from my body.

I widened my stance so that I could feel him deeper within me, and he didn't disappoint. He knew exactly what I was seeking, and he gradually began to increase the speed of his thrusts. My fingers gripped the bike's seat for dear life as every stroke teased at my g spot.

“Yes!” I cried out, as the sound of his balls slapping my ass echoed throughout the woods.

He groaned, before squeezing my hips so tight that I nearly yelped. He was using every bit of leverage that he could. With his pants around his ankles, and his boots planted firmly on the ground he slammed into me. Over and over again. Faster and faster, until there was no choice but to let go.

We came apart together, feeding off of each other's orgasms as if we were starving for them. The birds had gone silent, and the wind had stilled leaving only the sound of our rapid breathing. He placed a soft kiss between my shoulder blades, and I sighed in contentment. I could feel his legs shaking from the shear force, and I knew that he needed to leave me. For a moment, I selfishly wished that we had gone home.

“Are you alright?” He asked, his shaft still pulsing inside of me.

  “More than.” I yawned.

  He chuckled. “You sound exhausted.”

  “That's because I'm pregnant.” I said, logically.

“Well that makes sense- wait, what?” He asked, as he practically sprang off of me.

I giggled, before turning around to face him. The look on his face was absolutely priceless. There he stood pants still around his ankles, sporting a damn fine erection, and looking like he was about to pass out.

“Owen?” I asked, as I took a step forward. “Are you alright?”

A smile started to slowly creep up on his face until he was grinning from ear to ear.

“We're having another baby!” He yelled, his voice echoing throughout the woods.

His smile was contagious, and before I knew what was happening he was waddling over to me, and pulling me into his arms. I couldn't hold back anymore. I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying, and he was right there with me. He peppered my face with kisses, and then found my mouth and practically devoured it. When we finally stopped, he placed his hands on either side of my face.

“Veronica Foster, you have made me the happiest man alive.”

  “The feeling's mutual.”

“You tricked me!” He said, my deception suddenly dawning on him.

“If I had told you before, you never would have let me get on the bike.”

  “You're damn right.”

“Well, you've got no choice now. We have a daughter to get back home to.”

“This is one pregnancy announcement that I'm never going to forget.”

I laughed. “You should have seen the way you waddled with your pants around your ankles.”

“I'll show you waddling.” He said, placing his hands under my ass to lift me.

I screeched, wrapping my legs around his waist so that I wouldn't fall.

  “Owen!”

“You started this Unicorn, just remember that.”

“I may have started it, but lucky for me you always make sure that I finish.” I winked.

“God damn, woman.” He seethed, as he adjusted me in his arms.

  “Since we're already here-”

He silenced me with a kiss, and I smiled against his lips.

Never in a million years did I think I'd end up married to a song writer, living in Tennessee. Owen Foster had given me everything that I never knew I was missing. He showed me what real love was, and helped me see that settling was never an option. I had finally found my place in life, and it all started with a road trip.
