Do you foresee a future where certain/all religious rights might be taken away due to public safety reasons?
If you were the member of clergy who heard the confession and knew the person expected to kill/hurt/endanger more people but your religious vows prevented you from revealing this information for fear of being excommunicated. What would you do?
Defining Sins
What is a sin?
Where do you draw the line?
What is acceptable behavior?
Suicide
The topic is often taboo, and possibly for good reasons. We don’t know if the person sitting next to us was affected by it. Did their spouse/child/friend commit suicide?
Being the person to discover a loved one’s dead body most definitely qualifies as a traumatizing experience, so perhaps some people avoid talking about it so those unfortunate people won’t have to relive their trauma every time the topic comes up.
How do you feel about suicide?
Is it an acceptable way to end one’s life? And if so, under what circumstances?
When a person no longer takes any pleasure in living (and has been feeling that way for years), should he or she have the right to put an end to it? Should a person remain alive just to please others?
If you were to place all sins on a scale, where would suicide rank?
