“No, she didn’t go there. I would have been able to track them there.” Weyland says to me.

“Then where the fuck did she go?” I shout. If anything happens to her, I will kill every last motherfucker on this planet, and I won’t stop here. Everything will die.

“Find her.” I command the shadows that are always lurking by.

“Yess-ss master.” The one whispers out to me and I only have to wait seconds when they start whispering back to me.

“No massterr. Sshhe is gonnne. We cannn’t find the mistress-ss.”

“Fuck.” I grumble out. The Brothers are just looking at me to see what I’m going to do next.

I rip the shirt from my body as I move to my desk. I open my top drawer and the knife that lays there unused shines in the light. I lift the knife up and slice my palm open and my blood pours freely from my hand.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Bishop questions me.

“Finding my infuriating mate, got a problem with that?” I ask him.

The Brotherhood now stands and comes to surround me by my desk. It’s highly unlikely anyone would dare come through the doors with me and the four of us in the room. But they can’t be too careful but, fuck caution. My blood can end worlds if I spill it freely. But so be it if that is the case.

The tattoo of Natalie’s name starts to deepen. It throbs in my skin, as it wants to come to life. Dark smoke starts to come off my skin from her name as I start to drip some of my blood onto the tattoo.

“What the fuck does that tattoo say? You never told me when I was tattooing it onto you?” Bishop asks me again, as he watches my blood drip from my hand.

“It says Natalie, it’s in a language so fucking old the gods themselves have forgotten it. You tattooed it in her blood. She can never escape me. Ever.”

“Useful, I’ll remember this for when my time comes.” Mason says as he watches the tattoo come to life.

“Only fuck up, you have to tattoo her first, with your own blood.” I say to them and I watch the tattoo start to vibrate within my skin, it blurs in and out of focus until it stops, and more smoke continues to pour from my arm.

“And did you?” Hades asks me.

“Yes, it’s behind her one ear. She would never have seen it when I took her memories away.” I say to Hades and then my attention returns to the tattoo on my arm.

“Clever, your mate is quite the handful.” Hades says as his fairy comes floating into the room and places his tea by the chair he was sitting in and then floats back out through the door.

“Tell me about it.” I grumble out as more smoke pours from the tattoo and then starts to float towards me, I breathe it in again and it takes me to her, ever so fucking slowly.

  Chapter Thirty-Three

“In the dark, I saw the true colour of his heart.” – Natalie

  ~Natalie~

I lay there processing the words Jacin has said to me. His side of the bed has gone cold and he has yet to return. Whatever they had to talk about, must have been urgent. His final words to me as he kissed my lips and left still ringing in my ears.

We can’t do anything about lucifer. It will upset the balance. Lucifer needs to reign until his heir takes over. But I saw Jacin and his hounds. They didn’t bother fighting Lucifer and he knows it. And this is why he gets away with such things. Whatever balance they are talking about, must be important enough for Jacin and his men to let him get away with everything.

But I can’t just sit back and do nothing about it. This balance clearly doesn’t concern me and if it does. Well then, I’m in a whole world of trouble then. I won’t let the people involved in this get away with it. Even if that means I must start smaller until I make my way up my now new kill list.

We might have gotten Jacin back, but he took him from me and the others that aided him. And who knows what else Lucifer is capable of now that he has found a way to best Jacin, and The Brotherhood. My thoughts don’t stop. What if the people that helped Lucifer also know about the drugs strong enough to subdue them? What if it gets out, there will most likely be a war on all fronts?

Something has to be done about it. I can’t take the risk and I’m not sure why Jacin wants to take it. I’m definitely kept in the dark about something. So, I’ll keep them in the dark about this. But I can’t go against Jacin. There is one person he never told me I couldn’t go after and I have suspicions why. But that won’t stop me. It actually gives the enchantress inside me more of a reason.

That will be my first stop.

My first on my kill list.

I roll from the bed and the sheets that I’m still tangled in and head for the shower. I’m doing this, before Jacin comes back.

I’m doing this, no matter the consequences. This world will burn for all that has been done.

Once I’m scrubbed clean. I call them in. My five.

And I pray to the gods that they will still be mine once this is done.

I sit on one of the chairs as they all come piling in through the door. Concern crosses their faces as they see me sitting there alone. They know by now something is up.

I stand to greet them. I haven’t seen them in a few days, and they look about the room as I do.

“You guys have to just hear me out.” I say to them. Which brings their attention back to me.

Ten pairs of eyes peer at me with concern and wait for me to continue.

My hands twist at my sides, my nerves are for some reason shot. If they won’t come with me, I’m kind of screwed. I need them to have my back.

“Please, come and sit.” I say to them and gesture to the couches.

“What’s going on Natalie. Is something wrong?” Tray asks me and I take a deep breath.

And breathe out, I tell them.

“I’m going to the Fae; I’m going to kill that bitch. And she will just be the start. I will either die doing this, or Jacin will have to stop me in order for me to stop. I will kill them all.” I say to them and their ten eyes grow large as saucers.

“Kill who all?” Bus is the one to ask me now.

“All who had something to do with what happened to me, to Jacin, to the family I lost. I can’t let them get away with it.”

“I agree.” Lynx says out along with Trays refusal of no.

“Thanks Lynx, at least I have one of you on my side.”

“I’m on your side, so long as you don’t go near Lucifer. That fight is not yours to handle.” He says to me.

“Jacin has already warned me not to go down that road. But Nerissa is going to die by my hand.” I say to the group of men.

“Fine, I’m in, I can’t let you go around getting yourself killed.” Bus says to me and Even just snorts at me and nods his head. Three out of five is not bad odds. But my odds would be way more in my favour if the other two were on board.

“How are you even going to get close enough to Nerissa to even harm a hair on her head. She is a lot more protected than you think. And she won’t be easy to kill, she hasn’t lived this long with just her smarts.” Haven asks me and I nod my head at his every word.

“I have a plan. I just hope I’m reading people correctly. Or this might just blow up in my face. And then I might need you guys to get me out of a sticky position. But if I’m right, which I really do think I am, I just need you guys to have my back on this.”

“We have your back. Your fucking arm, legs and ass if you need us too Natalie. We are here to protect you.” Haven says to me.

“So, you will come with me then?” I ask him hopefully.

“Of course, I’ll never miss the chance to beat down a fae. Even if they are Seelie, either way, fae is fae and they just need to give me a reason to beat on them.” Haven says out more excitedly than expected.

“Are you going to behave, though?” I ask him. I can’t have him going around killing everyone he sees fit to die.

“Only on your word, will I kill, Natalie. Don’t have to worry about me.” Haven assures me and then winks at me. I wink b
ack, it’s strange this relationship we have with one another. All dependant on one another, yet completely separate.

“No, we just have to worry about Jacin finding out.” I grumble out and I want to throw my head in my hands.

“He is busy. He won’t be able to track us that quickly in the fae realm.” Tray says to me.

“Does that mean you are coming with me? You will go against Jacin?” I can’t hide how surprised I am by this.

“I’m not going against Jacin. I’m simply protecting you from your own stupidity.” Tray grumbles out and crosses his arms over his chest.

“Thank-you. All of you.” I say to them. “I’m already packed, I’ll give you guys some time to go pack too.”

“No need, we need to go, and we need to go now. Before they notice.” Tray says to me.

“Okay, okay, I’ll be only be one minute.” I say to them as I dash through the doors into our room. I grab my backpack with the few things I’m going to need for this and then I’m back through the doors and Tray hold his hand out to me once I come into his view.

I take Trays hand. He is the only one of us that is unwilling to do this. And I honestly think it has little to do with defying Jacin and more to do with my safety. When will they learn, I can take care of myself. I won’t put myself in danger I don’t think I can handle.

  And I know this bitch.

I know I can handle her.

Tray and I fade into some sort of forest. I’ve never seen this place before. Everything is odd, everything is wrong. Colours don’t match and aren’t where they are supposed to be. The sun burns bright, too bright that my eyes cannot look anywhere but straight ahead or down.

Movement in the red bushes catches my eye and a massive squirrel hops out with a rat between its teeth. I want to move towards it, I don’t believe my eyes.

“Don’t, vicious fuckers.” Tray says to me and pulls me back by my hand he is still holding, I feel the air move around us, and the other four men appear.

“He is already looking.” Bus says to the other men and Tray just nods his head. I pull my hand from Trays grasp and he releases me with ease as the four men come to stand by us.

“I know, I felt him before I faded.” Tray answers Bus and Even just snorts. I really want to ask him what’s with the no talking thing, but I’m honestly too scared to hurt the guys feelings if it is voluntary silence.

“Who? Who did you feel?” I question Tray and his eyes say it all. We have been caught already and we have just left. My time is so much more limited than I thought now.

“Weyland. And he is fucking pissed we didn’t answer his call.”

I feel him before he materializes in front of us. The volatile power inside me grows daily since I became one with the monster inside me. I sense things I never thought I’d ever feel. And I feel the Fae moving through the air to only materialize before me.

  Elgan.

I smile at him as his face comes into view. His beautiful features which are common amongst the fae, especially the sex fae, which I know he is a combination of. He returns my smile with his panty dropping grin.

His presence comforts me, his friendship means so much, that I hope after this, we can still remain as we are. But I’ve come for one of their own. And blood really is sometimes thicker than water. Thicker than friendship.

“You know what I’m here for.” I say to Elgan. As the rest of his body materializes in front of me. He takes me in, then the five that have my back.

Elgan then nods to each of us and when his eyes finally land on me, his grin has returned. When a friendship was built on shit times and we all came out for the better, I would like to think it’s near unbreakable.

“We have been waiting.” Elgan says to me, his voice above a whisper, which floats over my body, his voice is magic, and it caresses me like an old friend. “But she is still my mother, non the less.” He continues to say but then doesn’t say anything more.

“Are you going to stop me?” I ask him, as he takes me in again and studies me. If he knew this day was coming, then he knows why I am here, to kill her.

“No. But I cannot condone it.” He states. “We are on the brink of war. And this will ensure the war will be fought.”

“And you have Jacin’s word, either way, you knew the war was coming.”

“We are expecting it. I hope you are here for the right reasons and not others.”

“I suspected it a long time ago. But that is not the reason. She aided in taking me and she aided Lucifer.” I explain to Elgan and he nods his head at me as he understands. “But I won’t lie to you Elgan, I will definitely get more joy out of it now.” I admit to him.

Elgan lets out a small laugh at my declaration.

“We know nothing.” He says to me.

“And neither does Jacin and once he finds me gone, my time will be limited.”

“He can’t trace you here. And neither can he trace his hounds. Our magic works on different levels here.”

“Well then. Let’s get started.” I say to him and he shakes his head at me. “Always in a rush, always so fucking head strong. I’m sure that’s why the last time we ended up in that predicament.”

“No, your bitch of a mother did that all on her own.” I say to him. “But yes, I didn’t really help any less.”

“Good thing you admitted it.” He says to me. “But first, come see Valen. And then you can go on your murdering spree.”

“Lead the way, Elgan.” I say to him and he turns and walks through the forest we landed in. I know from previous visits; we are entering through the one entrance that many don’t know about. I turn to my five, who are scanning the area we are in. Every movement they track, like the hunters they are.

“Come on, guys. Let’s go.” I say to them as they all turn their eyes back to me. “We have a bitch to track and kill.”

Even lets out his snort I’m so used to and walks ahead of me, as Tray comes to stand beside me. I wish it was Jacin. But if anyone knew he was involved with this, it could mean more than one war we will have to fight. I will do this alone and suffer the consequences of my actions alone.

My attack will be a surprise and her death will be a surprise to her. May she rot in hell for all that she has done.

  ~Jacin~

I materialise along with Weyland. The Brotherhood stayed behind. The Fae cannot know, not while there is a war brewing on their side. The grass crunches beneath my feet, twigs snap in our wake. The forest creatures scatter as we make our way through the forest of the fae. I fucking despise it.

But I can’t blame her. I know her revenge runs deep and dark, almost as much as mine. Where I’ve had years to adapt and control it, Natalie has had barely two decades. She will learn, only after she has come to do what she feels she needs to do. She will learn, that sometimes, revenge isn’t as sweet as it seems. Revenge can turn sour, dull and fucking ruin more than what it has already done.

I have to let her do this.

She won’t rest, until it’s done.

Hhmm it seems my little enchantress has a point to prove. Then so be it. I’ll sit patiently by and enjoy the show.

A show it will be. But forever in her favour.

No one will touch my mate and live.

Not even The Queen of The Fae.

  The end for now...
