Reluctantly they gave up their precious devices and Shaker immediately took them back to the main power center. Removing the devices' power units, he placed them in the Tiberius' core.

The ship began to vibrate and the engines revved up. Shaker called up to Ryanis, "Do it, NOW!"

Ryanis turned on the hyperdrive.. . . . The ship shook and shimmied, but nothing happened. Then, it stopped moving backwards and began to move slowly forward. Suddenly the ship rocketed forward and blasted into hyperspace.

They jumped safely to Martosis, and landed once again at the palace. The entire kingdom greeted them, people as far as the eye could see, clapping and cheering for the heroes. Ryanis and Shaker weren't exactly comfortable being heroes but they waved anyway.

Back inside the royal throne room, King Jupiter sat smiling on the largest throne with the Princess next to him. Even the Chief of Staff, who had been so snooty before, looked almost grateful.

"Sean Ryanis, Shaker, I pronounce you honorary citizens of Martosis and you may pass through our borders and the borders of all Alliance worlds, freely. No one will stop you. Also, I believe there is the matter of a bounty, you did bring me home safe."

Ryanis winked at the Princess, "Told you I'd bring him back without a scratch." The Princess blushed and looked down, smiling.

"I would also like to offer you both the honor of joining my elite guard. You have proven your valiance and resourcefulness. This is not an honor I confer lightly."

Ryanis looked up at the King, "I'm sure you don't Your Highness, but I don't do too well unless I'm on my own. But be sure, if you need me, just call and I'll be around."

The King nodded, "I thought as much, but I had to try. You are a rare soul Ryanis, so I tell you the following for your own good. You have made more powerful enemies today than you have ever had before. I do not think the galaxy is safe for you anymore."

"Never was safe, not for anybody, but we'll be just fine your Highness. We usually come out on top." And him and Shaker bid the King and Princess farewell, heading back to the Tiberius.

On a dark and perpetually stormy planet, a secret laboratory stood on a platform above the waves of the ocean. Inside, a clear tube held a frightened captive. A dark green blob moved toward his head, latching on and absorbing into his skin. The victims eyes turned black as night, like dark portals that would suck you in if you weren't careful.

The newly created Malogan Master rose up and yelled out, "Sean Ryanis!"
