“I do love that person.” Noah admitted, “That’s why I’m letting you go. I don’t want to make you cry anymore. I want you to smile more. If you can’t do it with me, I’m fine with that.”

  Test of Love

“Why can’t it be with you?” Eva asked, tearfully. “We were happy before. Why can’t we be happy again?”

Noah was silent for a while then suggested. “This will make my uncle happy at least. How about we just try not to piss each other off for the next year and a half. And just get through the term, if you still want to leave, we’ll get a divorce.”

“You don’t want to leave.” Eva asked him.

“No, why would you think that?”

“Because you’re mad at me all the time. I thought you hated me!” Eva cried.

“I don’t hate you!” Noah declared.”

“It felt like you did.” Eva whispered softly.

“That was the problem. Me treating you like that. I should’ve treated you better. I will treat you better.” Noah promised.

“You better, because the minute you don’t, I’m gone.” Eva promised.

“I know, and I’ll let you go.” Noah said with a smile.

  “So, we’re good.” Eva asked.

“As long as you’re good, I’m good.” Noah declared, and Eva smiled at him. “Since you’re staying, wanna have make up sex?”

“HA! HA! HA!” Eva laughed. “No.”

“Oh, come on!” Noah begged. “You don’t even have to do anything.”

Eva chuckled at him as she shook her head repeating in a sing-song voice. “No.”

  “Worth a shot.” Noah muttered.

“When I’m ready to take our relationship back to that, I let you know.”

“Please do.” Noah griped, and Eva laughed once more as she slipped on her wedding band for their arrival in Guam.

They arrived in Guam under heavy security. As Noah proceeded with the tour of the base, the general regaled him with the soldier’s exploits and concerns.

“His last disastrous test is what has him on hold for now, but I think we better be ready to defend ourselves. I admire that you placed such a huge investment into us. As the son of a former marine and a former federal agent…”

“Ha, ha, former.” Eva chuckled, and Noah glared at her. “If he could’ve kept the badge and still be President he would’ve done it.” Eva informed them.

“That’s why we’re glad we voted for you, Sir. We knew you’d seek our interest and understand the need for some form of military action. I’m not advocating an all-out war, but maybe the issue can be dealt with delicately.”

“I’m definitely all for delicacy.” Eva muttered.

Noah glared at her and he read her look – say the word and she’d fix it. There was no way he was going down that road with her. He was not about to turn into Welker, having his own private assassin. Eva may not understand, but he wanted better for her. He didn’t want her to think of herself as just a killing machine.

“I’ll have to go to Congress and get the necessary approval.” Noah informed him. “If it were just me, I’d do the job myself…”

“There is no way in hell that is happening!” Eva gritted out, much to the amusement of the surrounding military elite.

“Eva. Why don’t you go chat with some of the personnel?”

“I will tell Ana if you even think of leading a team to the grocery store!” Eva threatened.

“Eva, I’m not gonna do anything….”

“You sure?” Eva asked then whispered. “Because running an op is the only other thing that gets you hard beside me.”

There was no holding back the laughter this time, as the generals, two admirals and the rest of the soldiers within hearing distance laughed at him.

  “Seriously, Eva!” Noah chastised.

  “Well, it’s true,” Eva confirmed.

“Can you just go …elsewhere please?” Noah whispered.

  “Am I embarrassing you?”

“Ye…No.” Noah corrected quickly. She was testing him, he realized and if he sent her away, he was looking at more nights of celibacy, so he smiled instead and said, “Isn’t she funny?” Noah fake laughed as he added, “And a tad overprotective. I assure you sweetie I won’t be going anywhere you don’t want me to.”

“Don’t try me,” Eva muttered in Italian.

“I will never try to fool you, my love,” Noah responded in kind and Eva narrowed her eyes at him before walking off to speak to the other personnel.

“Can that really happen?” Noah asked quickly, “Can I be on an op?”

“No, Mr President. That most definitely cannot happen.”

“I hear you. She won’t know.” Noah assured, “If I get the approval, I want in on the op.”

“I think you misunderstand me, sir. We are not taking you on an op.”

  “Why not?”

“You don’t have the right training for one thing and two you are the president. It would be a reckless endangering of your person.”

“You think I like this job?” Noah griped. “I do it for her and my mother. Shit like this is the only good part of this. I’m cooped up listening to a bunch of old farts rip people off. I need this!”

“We can’t do that, sir. Frankly, we don’t have the authority.”

“And who has the authority?” Noah asked with a smile.

  “You… Sir.”

“That’s right. Now you guys plan it out and I’ll just follow your lead.”

  “I don’t know…”

“Agree fast before she comes back!” Noah hastened as he saw Eva returning.

“I’m sorry Mr President, but just know I will vote for you again.”

  “What?”

“Ma’am you were right. He wants to go on the OP.”

“You ratted me out!” Noah complained as Eva narrowed her eyes at him.

“For the sake of the country, sir.” The general said with a smile and a salute.

“And if he was foolish enough to take you, I would hunt you all down and …”

  “Eva!”

“As for you.” Eva began. “I can’t believe you’d risk yourself like that.

“They do it every day.” Noah rebutted. “So, what I’m President, I should be in the damn trenches. I can still quit this and enlist. It’s just one stupid OP!”

The soldiers were proud of his declaration, but Eva said. “So, you would rather leave me then?”

  “I’m not leaving you!”

“You will if something happens to you.” Eva pointed out as her eyes glistened with unshed tears.

“I won’t do anything to put my life at risk,” Noah promised.

“So, no more ops,” Eva asked as she pouted at him.

  “No more ops,” Noah promised.

“I don’t want to change you, but I need to keep you safe. You understand, don’t you?”

“Yes, I understand,” Noah answered robotically.

“It’s for the best, baby,” Eva muttered. “Shall we proceed gentlemen?”

The general patted him on the back, “If it’s any consolation sir, I would’ve gladly served with you.”

“So, would I,” Noah muttered wistfully.

“You don’t understand Eva.” Noah began once they were alone again. “I can’t do this for another four years. Let Eric run.”

“And you can go back to chasing bad guys,” Eva stated.

  “I think I can do more…”

“You’re President so you can do more.” Eva pointed out. “And you have. Look at what you’ve done so far…”

  “I know. But sometimes…”

“You hate people telling you what you can and cannot do.”

  “Exactly!” Noah agreed.

“Now you know how I feel.” Eva pointed out.

“That isn’t about telling you what to do all the time.” Noah corrected. “It’s about curbing those instincts your Daddy instilled. I want what’s
best for you, I want to keep you safe and I don’t want to use you like that.”

Eva stared at him, her eyes glistening, her mouth in a silent ‘o’ before she whispered. “I thought you just wanted to control me.”

  “You need controlling.” Noah joked.

Eva glared at him. “Know to quit when you’re ahead.”

“But seriously baby, you know you can’t continue doing the things you did before if you want to move on.”

Eva knew he was right. She didn’t want to admit it, but a small part of her liked having these skills, but they lured her into using them, to test her limits. That was not good if she wanted to make a clean break.

“Kind of like Batman giving up crime-fighting, huh.” Eva pointed out as she watched him.

“I know what you want to say,” Noah conceded. “I can’t go back to the Bureau, but what if I took a desk job. I mean I’m more than qualified for the directorship now.”

“That I can accept.” Eva agreed.

“See we can be adults.” Noah pointed out as he crashed beside her.

“Now, can we be husband and wife?” Eva purred and leaned in and kissed him.

Noah stilled and didn’t respond at first then he tentatively returned her kiss. Heart racing, he pulled away to ask, “Eva are you…?” but she cut him off as she resumed their kiss.

Eventually, she let him come up for air when she said. “You overthink a lot.” Noah had no response for that as he was still staring at her lips before he could really do what he was thinking, Eva added as she stroked his hair, “if you’d only explain this earlier…look how much time we’ve wasted.”

  “I-I-I…um…what?” Noah muttered puzzled.

“Exactly,” Eva said as she stood. She smiled at him then went to the shower.

Was that an invitation? Noah wondered. He was so horny and so confused right now. Did she forgive him? Was she still mad? What did he say that was so right and why couldn’t he figure this shit out yet?

Eva returned to the room wrapped in a towel asking, “Are you coming?” He shot out of the chair like a lightning bolt and was beside her in a flash. “I want to try something. You think you could find the patience for that?” Eva asked him.

Noah nodded as his cock swelled. He didn’t care what she wanted as long as he got to fuck her.

An hour later, as Eva lay sleeping naked next to him, Noah wished he should’ve cared. Eva got off, but he didn’t. It wasn’t that she left him hanging. No, it was because she was only interested in seeking her own interests so to speak. Her teasing offer had little to do with him…well a lot to do with him, just not for him. And he couldn’t call her on it because he was afraid of how she would act.

So now he lay awake and aching with his warm, nude wife next to him and he was afraid to touch her. It has been so long, and she smelled really good. With no help for it, Noah wrapped his hand around his cock to solve the problem himself.

As he pumped, Eva’s eyes shot open, making him freeze.

“What are you doing?” She asked breathlessly.

  “Nothing,” Noah responded.

Eva sat up and looked down at his body. “It doesn’t look like nothing.” She smirked, and Noah blushed in the darkness. “Need a hand?” She asked as she removed his and replaced it with her own. She slid her hand slowly up and down his length saying. “I don’t think I’d like doing this with anyone else.” Then she covered the tip of his cock with her mouth, gently sucking as Noah bowed off the bed.

“I love the way you taste,” Eva murmured before taking even more of him down her throat. Noah groaned as she sucked him, his hands buried in her hair, keeping her where he wanted.

“Ah fuck baby!” Noah cried as Eva’s teeth grazed the tip before increasing the tempo. “God baby!” He cried as he drew closer to his orgasm. Eva tightened around him as he came, and she kept on sucking every last drop until he crashed back down.

“Better?” Eva asked as she released him. Noah nodded with his arm flung across his face. “Noah?”

  “Mmm…?”

“Do you want to do that for me?” Eva purred as she rubbed circles on his stomach.

  “No,” Noah replied, not moving.

“What?” Eva asked crossly, in her sexual frustration already thinking of ways he was going to pay.

“I’m not doing that.” Noah restated.

Eva sat up and was slipping out of the bed in an angry huff when Noah grabbed her asking, “Aren’t you gonna ask me what I want to do?”

Eva stared at his rising cock and asked. “What do you want to do?”

“This.” He dragged her back to the bed, planted her on her stomach and entered her from behind. He stayed like that as he touched and kissed everywhere he could and Eva began writhing beneath him. He smacked her ass, saying. “Be still.” And continued touching her everywhere. When his questing fingers reached her wet pussy, he began to move. Sliding slowly in and out of her from behind as he fingered her in front.

Eva mewled, then begged as he toyed with her. His full length sliding slowly against her clit, driving her wild. “Please, Noah. Oh God, please!”

He lifted her to her knees, gripped her hips and resumed his slow assault. “No.” Eva moaned, and Noah stopped. “Don’t stop. Harder. More, please. Oh, fuck me, baby!”

Noah grinned but didn’t increase the pace and as Eva tried moving to seek her own relief, he would stop and spank her.

“Please, Noah!” Eva begged then pulled away suddenly, turning around and impaling herself on his glistened hard length. “Oh, God! Oh, God! Ah ah…Noah!” She chanted as she rode him. Noah barely held on as she bounced on top of him. “Oh fuck. Oh, fuck!” Eva cried as her hardened nipples grazed his chest then she leaned back and tightened around him.

Noah pushed her to the bed and took over, pounding into her as she came. “Oh yes, Baby! Oh yes!” Eva cried as he drew out her orgasm, her fingernails digging into his biceps.

When Noah came he crashed unabashedly on top of her crooning “I’ve missed you. I don’t want us to fight. I felt like I was dying without you. I’m trying, Baby. I promise I’m trying.”

“That felt like succeeding to me,” Eva murmured, stroking his hair.

“I’m serious.” Noah declared as he raised his head, his eyes adjusting to the darkness to look at her.

“Relax. I know love. I know.” Eva cooed, putting his head back on her shoulder.

“You mean the world to me, Eva.” Noah declared. “You, our kids are my world. I don’t want to be in a world without you in it.”

  “Neither do I.”

  Old Habits

“Finally, you’re free to meet with me.” Johnathon greeted as he stepped into Eva’s office.

“It’s been a little crazy here plus I think you know why I was so reluctant to meet with you.” Eva pointed out seriously as she took her seat and she didn’t offer him one.

“There’s a slight resemblance,” Johnathon stated, “can’t believe I missed it.”

“What do you want?” Eva asked coldly.

“You’re so much like him, you know.” Johnathon began, pouring himself a drink from her minibar and making himself comfortable in her armchair. “All this power right at your manicured fingertips, what have you been up to?”

“Doing what is expected of me, what else?” Eva responded, hating the useless delay.

“You’ll never admit to anything will you?” Eva gave him a confused look and he continued, “No you’re too smart for that. Does Noah know who you are?”

“Of course, he does.” Eva responded truthfully. “He supposed to.”

“Very smart.” Johnathan praised as he took a sip.

“Are you going to get to the point anytime today. I’m giving up playtime with my kids for this.” Eva told him irritably.

“I’m assuming a woman of your talents would be aware if this room was bugged or not.” He asked pointedly.

“Why would I know or even care if my office is
bugged?”

“I saw you at that dinner.” Johnathon stated suddenly. “You are not what you seem.”

“What you saw at the dinner was a woman who has martial arts skills and trains with her FBI trained agent husband, nothing more.”

“Bull.” Cross stated “Noah looked scared and not for you. Of you. Now I’ll ask again Madam First Lady, what are you?”

“I’m a woman who is pissed because you just wasted five minutes of my life.”

“What did he use you for? What is your mission here? Is he really dead?” Cross grilled as he fired questions at her.

“This is the weirdest conversation I’ve ever had…”

“Don’t toy with me!” Cross gritted out, slapping his hand on her desk.

Eva glanced his hand, then up to his eyes and declared softly, “This has been a waste of my time and if you value your position in my husband’s Cabinet, you would do well not to threaten me. Noah wouldn’t like anyone making me uncomfortable and you’re making me uncomfortable.”

Johnathon leaned back in his chair watching her. He swallowed at the threat and stated menacingly, “I can go to the press. Let them know what their precious President and First Lady are up to.”

“Please do, Noah can’t wait to arrest someone for treason,” Eva said softly.

  “Treason?”

“And just how you are going to explain where you got your so-called theory from?” Eva asked him and watched him turn pale. “Yes, I’m sure we can come up with a lot of theories about you.” She assured him, “Only in your case, they wouldn’t be theories would they.” When he remained silent she continued, “You know being a wife of an FBI agent you learn a few things. Did you know Noah does a background check on everyone he meets? It’s irritating, believe me, I know. But it’s a very good habit to have when you’re going to choose members for your Cabinet. Which is why now you’re wondering – how am I still here?” At his shocked look, she finished, “Just say thank you, Senator Cross, that I was in a forgiving mood.”
