I tensed and Colby giggled. When I pulled back to look at him, he had a sheepish smile on his face.

“Remember how you canceled your plane ticket to stay with me for my heat?”

  “Are you-?”

“Mmm hm.” He nodded. My eyes got foggy. I noticed it now: the slight thickening of his waist, his slightly fuller face, his changing scent. I spread my palm over his belly. It was just slightly rounded, just enough to know.

“This is crazy. My dream just walked into the door. My mate and my child. The missing piece of my puzzle. I’m complete.” I turned to my colleagues in the meeting, every one of them fully attuned to us. A crowd had gathered at the windows to watch without us even noticing. Skip and Pat stood by the door, Pat wiping at a tear.

“Everybody, we’re having a baby!” A cheer went up in the room and through the crowd right outside. I captured Colby’s lips in a searing kiss that became passionate fast. Blood rushed south as the desire began to build. I wanted my mate’s body, and I wanted it right now.

Jane cleared her throat, snapping us out of it. She came up and clapped me on the back.

“Lots of major life changes for you to digest, Reid. Guess you better take the day off.”

  “Jane, you’re a saint.”

“That’s what they tell me. Now go, get outta here.” I gave her a little salute and followed orders. I took Colby’s hand in mine.

“Come on,” I said. I could tell by the look in his eye he felt the need, too. I led him past my boss, past my colleagues, past Skip and Pat, who thumped my back and gave me an “attaboy”. We walked out of the door and past the crowd, who cheered and congratulated us. I hustled Colby to my office. By the time we got there, we were breathless and giggling. The second we got in the door I took him in my arms, kicking the door closed behind us.

“Finally. I have you all to myself. I’m going to enjoy every part of you, inside and out. I know we only knew each other less than a week when we fell in love, but I’m going to show you how much it meant to me. How much this means to me.” I slid my hand over his gently-sloping belly.

“Yes. I want that. Show me.” I set both hands on Colby’s slim hips and slowly slid them up, raising his slouchy sweater inch by inch, the fabric pooling around my wrists. He lifted his arms and let me take it off him. He had a t-shirt underneath, and I went to take that off him, too.

“This time, I want to strip you, too,” Colby said with a grin.

“We strip each other a lot. Remember both times I came in out of the rain?” We laughed until I smoothed my fingers over his lips. “I want to spend the rest of my life uncovering you.” Colby looked into my eyes as he undid the buttons on my suit jacket. He slid it off my shoulders and let it drop to the floor. He undid the buttons on my shirt, popping them one by one. My manhood was already straining in my slacks, and the sweet torture only intensified my raging desire.

Colby pulled my undershirt up from the hem of my slacks, the slide of the fabric on my skin making me harder. I ripped the undershirt off, and Colby wagged a finger at me.

“Ah, ah, ah. We’re stripping each other, remember?” I groaned, but I let him taunt me anyway. Colby carefully undid my belt buckle, running a palm up and down the massive bulge in my pants. He gave a gentle squeeze. It was reminiscent of our first time together, the first time I knotted him, the first time I made his body mine. I hissed and pushed into his palm.

He undid my zipper, smiling like he was opening a surprise gift. He let my pants drop to the floor with a soft hiss of the fabric, stroking me through my boxer briefs. I undid his pants, pushing them to the floor as well. We both kicked our shoes off.

Slowly, carefully, I peeled up Colby’s shirt. Sure enough, where there had been perfect flat, tight abs, there was now the slightest outward curve. I laid a hand on his stomach, in awe of the surprise gift Colby brought me. He looked just as sexy pregnant as I thought he would, and I couldn’t wait for his belly to get bigger.

I guided him back onto my desk, laying him down and spreading him out so I could look at all of him. I ran my hands all over his body, his thighs, his arms, his chest, and especially his belly.

“Can’t believe you’re here,” I murmured. “And you’re having my baby. Look at you. You’re perfect.” My cock was at maximum hardness. I needed inside of Colby ASAP. I peeled his underwear off inch by inch.

I reached between his legs, between his cheeks, and found that soft, tight spot I loved so much. Colby’s muscles clenched in anticipation as I ran my fingertips over the tight ring of muscle. I kept up the rubbing, teasing-but-not-quite-breaching his opening. Colby’s eyebrows knitted together, the frustration plain on his face as he rolled his hips, chasing the press of my finger, looking to be filled. It mirrored our first time so much I felt this must be my do-over, our chance to start again. Gratitude flooded me as well as lust.

I gave him what he wanted, easing a fingertip inside, watching him sit up on his elbows and press his hips down, dissatisfied with what I gave him.

He whispered something too low for me to hear.

  “What was that?”

“More, Preston. Come on,” A jolt of pleasure ran down my shaft.

“Only because you asked so nicely.” I carefully pushed in to the second knuckle, hesitating slightly before pushing all the way in. “You want more?” He fixed his eyes on me and nodded, urging me on.

“Yes, more. Hurry up, alpha.” I loved how bossy he got when I pleasured him. I added the second finger, gently spreading him, making sure he was ready for me. At the third finger, Colby was shaking and dripping all over the place; my hand, my chair, the carpet. “Preston, I’m ready. I need you.”

I shed my own undergarments, and both of us were gloriously naked. I lined myself up with his rim, stretched so nicely, so swollen and red, and buried myself inside. I had to squeeze the base of my manhood to keep from exploding on the spot. This man was made for me. As I thrust into him in earnest, watching how our bodies were joined, I knew we were always meant to be one. Watching him moaning and moving with me, his whole body exposed and especially that beautiful rounded belly, I was in heaven. His tight heat enveloped me and held me, kept me, swallowed me whole.

Colby’s breathing got heavier, louder, more insistent. The head of his dick was flushed red and leaking against the slight swell of his belly. His sack drew up tight and his fingers scrabbled for purchase on the desk.

  “Preston,” he panted, “I’m close.”

“Not yet,” I growled. I picked him up off my desk and spun around. The floor-to-ceiling glass looked out over the city, and while we could see out, the glass was mirrored enough to limit visibility inside. I turned Colby around so he could cum facing the bright Chicago skyline, but also so I could symbolically display him to the world, make it clear this was my omega and my baby he carried.

Colby’s palms were braced against the glass, his face turned to the side so I could see his eyes screwed tightly closed in ecstasy, and his mouth hanging open as I thrust into him.

“Yes, alpha, I’m yours,” he whispered.

“Show me how good you cum for your alpha. Show me, come on.” I pounded faster. Colby licked his lips and looked back at me, his eyes feverish with the coming orgasm. I reached around him and took his length in my hand, the other controlling his hips as I thrust hard and fast. One pump, two pumps, three, and he clenched around me as he went over the edge.

I went with him, creaming inside his tightness, transcending my body. I had to have this omega forever.

We were both a mess, with his seed covering my hand and my seed running out and down the inside of his thigh.

“I’m gonna have to get the custodians a big gift,” I said, looking at the carpet. Colby giggled.

“The whole city of Chicago knows what we did in here,” he said.

“Good.” The whole world should know I just pleased my mate, and that he and the child he carried belonged to me. I wrapped my arms around my shoulders and just held him. Colby
’s arms covered mine. We looked out over the city, not bothering to cover up.

“Is it weird to say I’m looking forward to getting to know you?” Colby said.

“We have forever to do it. No matter what, we’ll figure it out. Me, you, and our baby. Together. I promise.”

  Preston

“How can you be bored in that big ass condo?” Came a voice from Colby’s laptop. Buster. Definitely Buster. I held back a laugh as I pretended not to eavesdrop.

“Guys, Preston might hear you. I don’t want him to know I’m bored. He’ll feel bad.” I felt worse about that than I did about eavesdropping. “Preston says I don’t have to get a job if I don’t want to-”

“So what’s the problem?” Ginger said. “Be a kept man.”

“No way. I have to have something to do with myself, I’m just wondering if it’s worth it to look for a job when the baby’s due date is getting closer.” Colby was pushing thirty-six weeks, round, glowing, and gorgeous. “He’ll support me no matter what I decide to do.” That was true. I wouldn’t be happy about him working while pregnant as my alpha instincts didn’t think it was safe, but once the baby was ready for daycare Colby could do whatever his heart desired.

He was on a conference call with the Fab Flowers Family, as they now called themselves, and they spoke every other day.

“Show us how big they’re getting!” Miguel demanded.

“I just showed you yesterday,” Colby said with a laugh, even though I knew he loved the attention and was standing up to show off our baby as he spoke.

“I don’t care,” Miguel said, “they grew in the past twenty-four hours.” There was a chorus of “oohs” so I knew Colby must be showing his belly to his friends. Our friends. They made it clear I was part of the family, too.

Colby had been afraid things wouldn’t work out between us, and I understood his caution. He was in a scary position, wondering if he’d have to face life as a poor, single omega parent. I’d been irresponsible taking his heat unprotected. So many people brought innocent little lives into the world with no intentions of loving and caring for them. The consequences could have been horrendous for the two of them if Colby and I weren’t in love.

I, on the other hand, had no doubts, and ever since Colby came to Chicago, he’d been by my side and it was total bliss.

I didn’t like letting Colby out of my sight and I couldn’t keep my hands off him, so I went into the living room and came up behind him, cradling his belly and kissing his neck. Several voices squealed through the laptop. Colby covered my hands with his and leaned back into me.

“No wonder Preston doesn’t want you to work,” Ginger crowed.

“We see how he keeps you happy and busy in Chi-Town,” Buster added. Colby bit his lip and grinned, looking away. I captured his chin in my fingers and turned his face toward mine.

“Gotta go, baby. Got a meeting over the Kaplan account. I’ll be back for dinner.” I kissed his lips and the Flowers Family all shrieked again. Colby went back to happily chattering with them.

Later, in my third meeting of the day, I could barely keep my eyes open.

“All I hear is ‘derivatives’ this and ‘percentages’ that,” I groaned to Skip, who bit back a smile. I dropped my chin into my palm. “When will this be over?”

“Hope you don’t die of boredom in the meantime.”

“It was never like this before,” I whispered. “Something’s missing from the job. Why does it feel different?”

“You’re in love and a family man now. Your perspective’s changed. Maybe you’ve just outgrown the place.”

  “Outgrown…?”

“Mr. Reid? Some input here?” Maria from finance said, her face all business as she gestured at me with her laser pointer.

“They’re derivatives, Maria,” I said with a stone face as Skip covered his giggles behind me.

“Yes, but what do you think?” I stood up and pulled my blazer on, tugging at it until it fell neatly on my shoulders.

“I’m think I’m gonna go home, get my pregnant omega, and take him on a date.” I smiled at her, nodded at everyone else around the table, and walked out, as simple as that.

When I got back Colby was curled up in bed, his side rising and falling gently, his shirt riding up over his ever-growing belly. I was content to let him sleep. I just watched him, feeling lucky and grateful that he came into my life.

After ten minutes, he rolled over and stretched.

“Hey,” he said with a sleepy smile. “What are you doing home so early?”

“I came home early to spend time with my favorites. The man I love and my unborn child versus derivatives? Hmm, I wonder who would win that one.” I laid a hand on his belly and rubbed. “Let me take you on a date.”

“A get-to-know-you date?” His eyes glittered. We laughed a lot about how we were doing this whole love thing backwards. “I’m in, but before we go, I have a very important matter to attend to.”

  “What’s that?”

  “Your erection?”

  “Huh? I don’t have one.”

  “You’re gonna.”

“Yup, that did it.” I had a chubby already. Colby rolled onto his knees and crawled up toward me. He put a hand on my chest and shoved me. My back hit the mattress with a puff of sheets.

“Oh, yeah,” I whispered, game for whatever Colby had planned.

Colby didn’t waste any time. He yanked my zipper down and pulled my dick out, wrapping his hand around my length and stroking.

“I’m already getting hard for you, baby.” Colby blushed and grinned. He was shy about it, but he liked it, liked the dirty talk, liked to get mouthy and demanding in the heat of the moment. He took me in his mouth, moaning like he was the one on the receiving end. The moment his hot mouth closed around me, my head dropped back and I was lost to the ether. Colby sucked like a man on a mission, sloppy and wet and fast. He reached a hand down below his rounded belly to touch himself. Seeing him so hot for me, swallowing my dick while looking up at me with those wide, innocent eyes, his round belly hanging low, his hand on himself, made me want to blow my top.

“Colby,” I whispered, “I’m not gonna last.” His head bobbed faster, laving his tongue under the ridge of my manhood. I squeezed his shoulder as a final warning, and my hips bucked up off the bed. I controlled them as best as I could, but Colby kept his lips wrapped around me, catching every drop as I blew into his mouth.

Finally, I floated back down to Earth again, a huge smile on my face.

“Baby, I can’t feel my legs.” Colby smirked. “Let me take care of you,” I said, feeling boneless but determined to please my mate.

“Already did,” He mumbled, mouth still full, looking down at his mess.

“We’re gonna have to change the sheets,” I wheezed, squeezing the base of my cock. I couldn’t get hard again this fast; I’d pass out.

“Look.” Colby opened his mouth, and there were traces of milky white running along his tongue. I cursed up a storm.

“You’re gonna kill me,” I groaned, throwing an arm over my face. “We’ll never leave the house if you keep doing stuff like this.” Colby smirked again. He was full of surprises.

We dragged ourselves out of bed, as hard as that was. We only had limited time before we welcomed the baby, so we had to make the most of it. We put on light jackets against the Chicago wind and took the L to the best deep dish place in all of Chicago. After pigging out and smearing pizza sauce on each other’s faces (turned out food fights were our thing), we strolled by Navy Pier arm-in-arm.

“Ooh, mini donuts!” Colby pulled me toward a vender. We picked up three bags of them. All three for him, and I’d get a few if I was lucky.

“That’s a lot of sugar and bread, honey,” I said, unable to keep my protective alpha mouth shut. Colby nudged me with his shoulder, grinning around a mouthful of donut.

“I usually eat super healthy. I get to indulge today. We’re on a date, for goodness’ sake.

“You’re right, as always.” We did some window shopping, looking at all the generic tourist knickknacks, picking up a hot dog along the way. Colby lined it with mini donuts and chomped away.

“Oh god,” I groaned, throwing my hand up over my injured eyes. “Now, that’s just plain wrong. I can’t believe you or the baby like that combination.”

“You don’t know what you’re missing,” he said, waggling the donut-topped hot dog at me.

“Thank goodness for that.” I threw an arm around his shoulder and pulled him in to kiss his forehead. The wind was strong this close to the lake, and it pushed Colby into me a little. I was more than happy to help hold him up, the way a good alpha should. “Let’s get you off your feet.”

We found a nice wrought-iron bench painted black and sat down to look at the lake. The wind kicked up waves in the navy blue water. The sun was setting, and even though we faced east, the sky still danced with glorious colors. Colby and I cuddled close, keeping each other warm in the slight chill. I rested a hand on his belly and the baby kicked my palm. How can something so simple mean the whole world? I wondered, my heart filled to the brim.

“I always loved sunsets. So many shades of yellow and gold,” Colby said.

“You like yellow?” He looked up at me in astonishment.

“It’s my favorite color!” We burst out laughing.

“We still have a lot to learn about each other.”

“We do know each other’s favorite foods, movies, and music, though. What’s your favorite color, Preston?” I shrugged.

  “I don’t know. Black?”

“Black?” Colby laughed. “That can’t be your favorite, that’s literally all colors blended together! Pick another one, and don’t say white. That’s the absence of color.”

“Fine, it’s yellow.” I kissed his cheek.

“Cheater. Does that mean we can paint the bathroom yellow? The bedrooms? The cars? Dye our hair yellow?” I groaned playfully.

“Whatever.” I kissed his cheek. “You.” I kissed his nose. “Want.” I kissed his lips. He blinked up at me, looking like he had a secret. “What?”
