“Colonel, Major, I understand there were some problems with a company commander,” Jason said.
“General, it's not easy to report that it became necessary to arrest Major Chestnut for dereliction of duty, conduct unbecoming an officer, and failure to obey orders of a superior officer while in a combat situation,” Henry said.
“Those are some rather serious charges Colonel. I supposed you have witnesses?” Jason said.
“Four companies worth sir,” Henry said.
“I guess Major Chestnut is in the brig now?” Jason asked.
“We felt it would be best sir. No point in giving him a chance to add AWOL to the charges as well,” Henry said.
“No, I don't think so either. I know you're both tired so we'll do the debriefing first thing in the morning. May I ask where Captain Waters is?” Jason asked.
“Captain Waters headed for her quarters sir. She appeared ready to drop most of the way back,” Chris said.
“Very well. Major, I would appreciate it if you'd look in on her before going to bed yourself,” Jason said.
“Yes sir, I was headed there as soon as we're through here,” Chris said.
