“Baby.”
Grunt. That was his only response. Draven was on a mission and she tried, really tried to participate but it was a one-man show. She was just there for the ride. He rode her so hard that her legs began to shake and soon she was belting out his name over and over again until she finally settled beneath his bucking body.
Draven stopped, saw she was hanging off the bed. He pulled out, pulled her back onto the mattress and turned her to her stomach until she was pressed deep into what pillows were left on the bed.
“Ass up Jes.”
She lifted, barely able to get her hands and knees beneath her when he slammed back in. She was pitched forward face first into the pillow and melted. She could not move, too exhausted, but everything he was doing was felt so good. Soon she was ready to go off like a rocket again.
“Give me one more baby, and then I’ll let you sleep.”
Draven did something with his hips in a circling motion that had her entire body lighting up and then she was there again, just as high as before and falling over. Down she went and this time instead of screaming, she bit the pillow in front of her and let out a long wail. Seconds later Draven was draped over her, moving slower but grinding deeper into her backside until he finally let go and fell on top of her.
Exhausted and sweaty Draven pulled out of her slowly, rolling her with him.
“Love you Jes.”
“Mmmm. I’m dead.”
She felt Draven’s body shake from his laughter and popped her head up so she could get a good look at his face. She loved to see him smile. It was almost better than sex. Almost. Things had been serious the last two days they’d been back at the compound and she was glad she was able to relax and enjoy her man. Because now they had their work cut out for them. Finding the Sahidic and hoping they could find it before anyone else could wasn’t going to be an easy assignment.
“Thank you.” Jes said into Draven’s shoulder.
“For what?”
“For choosing us.”
She could say that now, and not feel like a bitch. Draven had explained Asia didn’t have his son but had given birth to his father’s son. Instead of a son, he now had a brother. She hadn’t returned before they left, so he’d been unable to even see his brother. Jes did feel bad, and she even felt sorry for little Rowry. He would now grow up under Draven’s father. A man that had proved in more ways than one he was not right in the head. But that was the least of their concerns.
“I’ll always choose you baby. No matter what. They can take away my memory, I come back. They can try and keep me from you and Faith, I come back. My heart, my allegiance will always be to our family.”
She smiled at his words and closed her eyes. Everything wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t bad either. She had Draven, they had Faith. Friends they could count on and a place to call their home. But they also had something else. A bond stronger than life itself. Their bond ensured that they would not only be together in life but also in death.

Draven pulled Jes closer in his arms. She was sleeping peaceful. He had no fears, and everything was right in his world. Even if there was a little darkness still trying to pierce through, he felt settled in his life. Ready to take on anyone who tried to take what was his. Draven pulled Jes tighter in his embrace and went to sleep with a smile on his face. He’d wait until tomorrow to tell her that she was also carrying their second cub.
