Abed also co-founded Tuta-Me in 2015. This digital edu-tech company, dubbed the ‘Uber of Tutoring’, specialises in education services. It has won several awards, as well as a round of Series A funding from a listed South African company. To date, the start-up has assisted over 10 000 learners with tutoring and education support.

Abed’s third company, Silicon Maboneng, was also founded in 2015. Silicon Maboneng focuses on developing technology solutions for medium to large enterprises, from app development to full enterprise solutions. It is fast becoming a leader in innovation and digital disruption.

Abed was named one of SAICA’s Top 35 Under 35 CA(SA)s in 2014, and again in 2016. This award recognises exceptional young CAs who are shaping South Africa’s future in commerce, business, academia or the public sector. In 2018, he was named a panel judge; the youngest individual to claim this honour.

Further accolades include being named one of Destiny Man’s Power of 40 candidates in 2016; joining a list of South Africa’s most dynamic movers and shakers. That year, he was also named one of Superbalist’s 100 Most Influential People.

When Abed isn’t being influential or starting new businesses, he can be found spending time with his beautiful wife Tebogo Sehume, who is a co-founder in many of the businesses.
