Their Fractured Souls: Sons Of Lost Soul MC Book Six Page 2

by R. Hunter, Ellie

He doesn’t say a word as he wrestles to pin my arms in place, just short sharp grunts in frustration.

Luck is on my side, as the guy tries to climb up my body his thighs widen and reacting quickly, I ram my knee between his legs, straight into his balls. At first it doesn’t work out to my advantage, he slumps directly on top of me but then he rolls onto his side, cupping himself while moaning.

I roll onto my side in the opposite direction to him and head straight for the archway leading to the kitchen. The back door is so close, yet I feel like I’m never going to reach it and I’m right, a pair of thick arms wrap around me and lift me into the air. Kicking my legs against one of the kitchen cupboards, we fly backwards, and we crash into the refrigerator, the intruder never once loosening his hold on me. He drags us to the middle of the room and his hold on me tightens even more. Through the darkness a second figure walks through with a slight limp and heads straight for us, or I should say me. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, any chance I get I’ll run but I’m not scared. The guy stops dead in front of me and his gloved hand grips onto my chin. The eyes studying me through the slits are the deepest brown I’ve ever seen, they’re almost hard to see in the darkness.

“You’re the girl from the motel,” he says, still not letting go of me.

  What?

He shoves my chin to the side and steps back, whipping the ski mask off and I instantly remember him. He was sat on a bench outside the motel last night, smoking.

  “She’s seen your face now.”

The guy holding me shoves me forward and I run around the island and put as much space between us as I can.

He too takes his ski mask off and I gasp. They’re identical twins. And beautifully rough and rugged. They’re both dressed in black and the one I kneed in the balls keeps his eyes on me while the other searches through my backpack.

He dumps it on the floor by his boots, finding nothing of interest of him and they both stare at me.

“If you call the cops on us, we’ll be back and you…”

I don’t mean to, but I laugh. It’s strange to laugh this loud in this exact moment but damn it feels good. They share a brief confused look before settling their eyes back on me.

“What the fuck is amusing you?” Sore balls snaps at me.

  “I won’t call the cops. I promise.”

I have zero plans to involve anyone in this, they have nothing to worry about.

“How can we trust you?” the other twin asks.

  “Because I don’t live here.”

Their confusion returns and sore balls steps closer to me. He treads carefully and slowly until he stops by his brother.

“What are you doing here then?”

  “I…um…I should go.”

Using the last of my energy, I round the island and close the distance between the three of us and lean down for my bag. Neither of them move to stop me until I head for the back door. Silently and together, they block the way and I freeze.

“What’s your deal? You break in, don’t steal anything and take a bath?” one asks tugging on my wet hair.

“It doesn’t matter, I’m leaving now. You can carry on without any interruption from me.”

Their eyes narrow at the same time and it’s weird, but they both move, and I slide between them and swing the back door open. It’s not until I climb over the side gate I sense them following me. They don’t make a sound and I almost think I’ve got clear away before they step up beside me, one twin on each side. I don’t stop walking and they match my pace easy enough.

“Were you going to sleep there tonight too?” one asks, but I keep my attention ahead.

“How is that any of your business?”

“We’ll feel bad if we stepped on your toes,” they both answer together. How do they do that, both knowing when the other is going to speak?

Blowing out a long breath, a dull ache settles behind my eyes. I was planning on sleeping there and now I’m struggling to get rid of these burgling assholes.

“My toes are fine,” I mumble.

“Sure they are,” one snorts, and it gets my back up. Before I can snap back the other one says, “In case you are fucked, which we think you are, you should come back with us. We’re staying up the mountain, I’m sure we can find you somewhere to lay your head for the night and tomorrow you can be on your way.”

I’m so tired I’m tempted by these strangers’ offer. Only, I know who occupies the mountain and these two don’t appear to be the men I had to stay away from my whole life.

“What would you want in return?”

I know the reputation of the bikers up the mountain, how they like to share women and party every night of the week. Everyone in town knows their reputations, we’ve heard all the stories that float down from the big rock.

“Ah, a nice dose of mistrust between thieves.”

  “I didn’t steal anything,” I point out.

“We wouldn’t want anything in return,” the other twin says and the way he speaks, I believe him.

I try not think of the reasons I’m here and push on. “So no sex, and you won’t kill me and chop me up into little pieces?”

Only one twin laughs, but the other, I’m guessing the more serious out of the two, cracks a smile.

“You’ll be safe, you have our word.”

Thinking it over, I eye the two guys and think, fuck it. “Sure, okay, I’ll come.”

“You’re forward, how are you sure we can make you come?”

It takes a minute but I catch onto what he’s implying and my hand shoots out and whacks him in the stomach. It’s such a friendly thing to do and I catch myself, but he only laughs and holds his hands up in surrender.

“We could though, make you come, and real hard.”

“I guess we’ll never know,” I throw back at him.

The more serious one, sore balls, shakes his head and waves his hand in front of us. “Our bikes are parked on the other side of those bushes.”

Silently, the three of us head for their bikes and my heart races at my recklessness. When we reach their machines, they both unzip their black hoodies and biker cuts similar to the ones the guys wear up the mountain come into view.

“You’re Lost Souls?” I ask, my voice barely breaking over a whisper. I should have known they were bikers when they said they were staying up the mountain.

“You scared now?” the less serious twin asks with a smirk, sending a shiver down my spine. Scared, no. Stupid, now that’s a high possibility.

  “No.”

“Good answer,” sore balls says directly behind me and I jump.

He takes hold of my hand and pulls me toward his motorcycle. “You can ride with me.”

The other twin doesn’t protest, and I listen to him tell me how to sit behind him. He climbs on first and jerks his head for me to join him.

“I’m Aspen,” I blurt out. I guess we should know each other’s names before we go off into the unknown.

“Mason,” he says and flicks his thumb from him to his brother. “Myles.”

Content I at least know their names, I go to join him. There’s not much room to leave any space between us and I’m not sure this is a good idea any longer. He reaches behind and pulls me closer to him, fumbling for my hands. He finds them and clasps them together around his waist.

“Don’t let go, follow my body and you’ll be fine,” he says, and I’m hit with a sack of nerves and it’s not from the impending bike ride.

Being this close to him, I can feel everything. His body is hard, and he smells like faint cologne and cigarette smoke.

They start their bikes and I’m jolted when he pulls off. The twin I’m riding with, Mason, takes the lead and I turn my head to see how far behind Myles is. He offers a dirty smirk when he catches me watching him. At the same time, they both speed up and I laugh. My entire body is thrumming with ecstasy. My hair whips around my face and I press my head to my rider’s back as I daren’t let go off him to move the strands. He t
enses and I wonder if I should have done it.

I let it go when he relaxes, and I squeeze a bit harder as he speeds up a little more. I have no idea where this night is going but fuck me if I’m not looking forward to finding out. My plans can wait a little longer.

  Myles

Aspen clings to Mase as if her life depends on him. I wasn’t surprised she agreed to come with us. As I stared into her eyes back at the house, I saw so much more than someone who should have been scared of two masked intruders. When she admitted she broke in before we did, my dick was instantly rock hard. Never before have we met a girl who would do such a thing and she’s hot as fuck. Between her own breaking and entering and her agreeing to come with us, I know we’ve found ourselves a bad girl. It’ll make a hell of difference to the girls back home and I can’t fucking wait to see how this plays out. Mason and I are usually much better at scoping out empty houses to raid. Shit, I don’t even know why we do it, it’s not like we need to steal shit for cash. Between us, our parents and Grumps, we have enough of our own.

Aspen laughs and the throaty sound hits me in the balls. She’s going to make staying here a lot more bearable than I first accounted for. I wonder what her story is and I realise I don’t fucking care. We’ll have fun with her while Cas does his shit with the northern chapter and then be on our way home when he’s done and she’ll go on with her life.

The Mercy clubhouse is busy when we ride up and come to a stop by dad’s bike. Our Willows Peak brothers nod our way as we cut our engines, but the Mercy brothers watch us warily. The place is banging with a party, but the night is threaded with tension, it’s clear to see and we haven’t even walked inside yet. I remain sitting on my bike and wait for Mason and Aspen to walk over. She sticks close to Mase and she doesn’t look so sure about coming here now. By the time they reach me, she’s scoped out the place, twice.

“You still want to stay?” I ask her while digging out a joint from my cut pocket.

“I don’t have any better options.”

I go to shrug, but Mason’s jaw clenches and he looks away from her. What the fuck was that? I’ve known every feeling, thought and twitch on this boy, but that, I have no idea.

“Hey, assholes, dad and Cas are looking for you. Where have you been?”

Over our shoulders, Tori is walking toward us and already giving her kindest smile to Aspen. Our kid sister is welcoming like that, she doesn’t know this chick from the next stranger but she’ll be nice because that’s who Victoria is.

  “Who’s your friend?”

“Tor, this is Aspen,” I say and then Mason adds, “This is our sister, Victoria.”

Tor, Tori, Toria, they’re our names for her, but for anyone else it’s Victoria to them.

“It’s nice to meet you,” Aspen says with a great big grin.

“Like wise.” Tori smiles back and then turns serious. “You should find Cas before he loses his shit. I don’t know what’s crawled up his ass but he’s not taking any prisoners tonight.”

Mase and I both look at Aspen and with one look from my brother that I can’t decipher, Mase asks Tori, “Can you stick with Aspen?”

  “Sure.”

She leans between us and reaches for Aspen’s hand. “We’ll find ourselves a drink.”

Aspen goes with her, throwing us a quick glance over her shoulder. Climbing off my bike, we’re quick to follow them inside and scope out the bar. It’s not bad but nothing like home.

Cas is sitting at a table by the fireplace with dad, Grumps, Sparky, Zach and Dex and a few brothers we haven’t met before.

“Usual story,” Mason whispers under his breath.

“You know it,” I whisper back trying not to move my lips.

Cas sees us coming and holds his hand up to holt his conversation with Sparky.

“Where have you two been?” he demands.

“Just in town,” we both answer.

  “Doing what?” he pushes.

“Sightseeing and shit,” we, again, say together.

Cas cocks his brow, not believing a word we’re saying, and he sighs.

“No more leaving the mountain without me knowing. I don’t know what the deal is yet and I can’t afford for your two’s kind of fun. This isn’t Willows Peak. Got me?”

We both nod and mutter, “Got you.”

“Who’s that with your sister?” Dad asks.

Everyone at the table turns to look over at Aspen and Victoria at the bar. She really is beautiful in an edgy, dangerous way.

“We found her,” we both say.

“Fuck sakes, what do you mean you found her?” Cas moans.

“You’re not here to play your games, boys,” Dad admonishes or tries to until Grumps cuts in. “Leave them be, they need an outlet.” As usual Grumps wins over dad, but he looks at us and points his old man finger at us. “But, if she starts causing trouble, you take her back to where you found her.”

“She’s not a fucking pet,” JJ snidely comments joining the table.

That’s exactly what she is until we’re tired of her or she leaves tired of us. Being dismissed, we turn and she’s still at the bar with Tor. They seem to be getting on real well and they laugh at something Aspen is saying.

“Shall we see what she’s made of?” Mason asks.

Nodding, we hang back and watch her.

  Aspen

“How did you find yourself with my brothers?” Victoria asks and I force myself not to stare over at the twins. They looked like they were being grilled and I noticed they didn’t seem to care. They stood there, cocky and full of themselves.

“In town,” is all I tell her. “Are they in trouble?” I ask next, the guy who was talking to them didn’t look so happy with them.

“They’re always in some sort of trouble, they’ll be fine. What about you, do you find yourself in trouble often?”

What a strange question for her to ask. Her gaze doesn’t waver as she holds her eyes on me, waiting for my answer.

“No, I’m more of a keep-to-myself kind of girl.”

Although, I am back and looking for trouble, however, she doesn’t need to know my business. She takes a break from her questioning and I take a look around. I’ve wondered all my life what it was like up on the mountain with the notorious Lost Souls motorcycle club. There are so many people around, I learn half of them, the twins included, have travelled here, arriving yesterday. A lot of bikers are staring at me, but they don’t intimidate me. Victoria is nice enough and her style is more daring than I’d ever wear in public. Winter is fast approaching and her skirts and tiny tops aren’t going to keep her warm if they plan on staying around much longer.

“Are you from round here?” she asks, returning to her questioning and she’s bumped into by a guy arguing with a woman behind her. He’s quick to apologise and she shrugs it off.

“Sort off,” I mumble, not wanting to lie to her. I have no idea why but she’s already making me feel like we could be friends.

The biker bumps into her again, this time she falls against me. “Hey, watch out,” I snap before I realise who I’m snapping at. A six-foot-tall, wall of solid muscle biker.

Victoria steps back, losing a little of her patience when the guy steps to the side and the woman he was arguing with throws her drink at him, but as he saw it coming, he moves to the side and the drink hits Victoria and she freezes.

The same guy is quick to put his hand on Victoria’s shoulder ready to apologise and she screams. The fear in her eyes seeps into my soul she’s that scared, and I push forward to shove his hand away. Before I can brush his hand away, he’s knocked to the ground. Mason or Myles is hovering over him ready to hit him when a young guy with the darkest eyes I’ve ever seen, flies over from nowhere and drives his boot into the guy’s stomach. One of the twin’s envelopes Victoria into his arms and her screams die off but she’s still left trembling from head to toe. The other twin along with the other guy continue to rain down violence on the guy on the floor and I’m pushe
d out of the way by yet another guy who pulls the twin off. The twin with his sister whispers in her ear but whatever he’s saying doesn’t seem to be helping.

“Cas! Call your boy off, we all wear the same here,” the guy who pushed me out of the way says while the young guy beating the biker doesn’t give up.

A tall guy, maybe in his fifties with faded colourful tattoos pulls the guy throwing one last punch away and keeps a hold of him. He flicks his eyes at Victoria in her brother’s arms and looks murderous.

The place has gone so quiet you could hear a pin hit the floor if one was dropped. Ragged breaths are the only sounds disturbing the silence as a guy walks through everyone, commanding all the power in the bar. He must be Cas.

“Luca, no more,” he commands, and the young guy being held calms. “As for who wears the patch, we’ll see about that. Shit with the Lost Souls is changing, it’s long overdue and if our women and children aren’t shown the upmost fucking respect I’ll be forgetting who wears the patch.”

Wow, this guy’s power clouds over everyone and everything. My eyes scan over the bikers and every single one of them are focused on Cas.

“Mason, Myles, get your sister out of here.”

The guy, Luca, shrugs out of the tattooed guy’s hold and storms towards us. He snatches Victoria’s hand and pulls her away from her brother. He leads her outside and I feel a presence come up behind me. It’s one of the twins and as he slides his hand around my waist, the other one leans over the bloodied faced guy on the floor.

“When you next see our sister, you fucking apologise. Keep your bitch under control, or we will.”

The woman, taking a whole lot of offence, goes to shriek something but takes one look at…I’m thinking Mason and decides better of it.

Without turning, he holds his hand back and I step forward taking a hold of it. In one swift move, I’m pulled to his side and the three of us walk outside. We don’t see Victoria or Luca and we don’t stop until we’re around the back of the place and no one is around.

They were obviously bad boys when I met them, they were breaking into someone’s home but watching them fiercely and violently protecting their sister, I’ve never been more attracted to anyone before and there are two of them.
