“I’ll take a shower and head over for a costume fitting. Then I’ll spend the afternoon learning my lines. I know I’m a nuisance, but thanks for everything.”
Julia came over and gave her a hug.
Gemma needed her friendship as she hadn’t really made many others since she came out to L.A. It was hard to work out why people were being friendly and she kept getting burned by both men and women by being used. Would Mitch be any different? She really hoped so. If not, then she would use his body while she could.
As she stood in the shower and let the water pour over her, she closed her eyes and thought what it would be like to share a shower with Mitch.
She ran her hand across her breasts as her nipples peaked and ached. In her mind, she imagined him standing naked and aroused before her, watching everything she did. She would be on tenterhooks all day if she didn’t do something to ease her arousal.
Her other hand slid over her abdomen and between her legs as she remembered him kissing her breasts earlier. She throbbed at her core at the thought of him lifting her so her legs would surround his waist. Her labia were already swollen as she pushed her fingers into her moist channel. The hot water was spraying her, but her pussy felt hotter to her fingers.
She imagined it was his fingers pushing into her, stretching her core so she could take him. She had rubbed against his cock earlier and she knew he was well endowed. With her fingers on her other hand, she tweaked her nipple, causing her breast to become heavy and needy. She massaged her breast and pulled on her nipple until it hurt. The sensation sent a tremor through to her clit.
Her whole body felt hot as she leaned back against the cool tiles and the water pounded her. Gemma moved her hand from her breast to her clit. She pressed the little nub flat between her fingers and then flicked it. A zing went through with each flick, causing her legs to shake.
Her other fingers moved back and forth along her folds, touching her entrance to tease herself, as if Mitch had the head of his cock there, about to enter her. She inserted one finger, and then a second, and moved them back and forth. She added another finger and rubbed the areas that made the ache even stronger.
Faster and faster she moved her fingers, imagining Mitch was thrusting into her. Her groans and gasps echoed in the bathroom as the shudders went through her.
“Fuck me, Mitch. Fuck me.” She screamed as the sensations built throughout her body. Her orgasm washed over her as her body throbbed around her fingers. She kept moving slowly as the sensations eased. Her breathing slowed and she slid down the wall and sat on the floor as the water streamed down on her. Gemma came to the conclusion at that moment she needed sex and there was only one person she wanted it with.

Two hours later, she had finished the wardrobe fitting. The new costume was red leather and comfortable but looked as if it had been poured onto her and left little to the imagination. Her usual clothes on the show were ones that would make her character blend in with the crowd. The up and coming episode had a scene at a fancy dress party where there were meant to be science fiction characters. She was obviously some sort of alien vampire. Thank goodness there was no sign of Brandon. The next two hours were spent rehearsing the upcoming fight scene she would be doing. All those years of doing Judo lessons when she was growing up were finally paying off.
Back home, she got out the script and started to learn her lines for the following day’s shoot. The new story line would have her and Declan trying to stop the other evil beings from coming through the portal in the town. All would be lost if the creatures made it to San Francisco nearby. The world depended on them and she would have some great fight scenes alongside Declan. The workout might make her forget Mitch for a few hours as well.
She headed for the shower and managed to get through without another fantasy about Mitch. She changed and settled down on the couch when she heard the car pull up in the driveway. Julia was back with Chinese. Gemma grabbed a bottle of wine and poured drinks while her friend opened the containers.
Julia held her glass up.
“You look like the cat that got the cream. What’s going on?” Gemma asked.
“I think what happened with Kurt may prove to be a cloud with a silver lining. After what you said about feeling sick of not being able to trust people, I spoke to a group of women who have set up an all-women production company. They have some interesting projects dealing with women’s issues coming up and I said you would be interested.”
“That sounds fantastic. So when are you going to set up a meeting with them?”
“Next weekend. By then they will have more of an idea about their next project and you could be the headliner. This could be the break we have been working for. Big movies, here we come.”
Gemma put down her glass and hugged her friend. Things really could turn out well for her. She still needed to talk to her mom though.
“I don’t know how I would have coped out here without you. I thought the New York scene was tough, but here it is even more competitive.”
“You’re doing good, Gemma. Just stay away from randy male directors and sexy paparazzi, and we will be all right. Now let’s tuck in.”
Chapter Eight
Gemma gulped down the bottle of water as she stood on the side of the set. It was the third take of the fight scene and she hoped the director was happy with it. Her body ached from head to toe and she would have a soak in the hot tub when she got home.
Declan’s brother Jake was working with them and he always lightened the atmosphere. She had thought briefly about dating him in the past, but his reputation preceded him. He liked girls and preferably for one-night stands. Plus, there was no spark. Two weeks had passed, and there was only one guy she kept thinking about.
“Next time I’m going to be on the winning side,” Jack said. “You and Declan have been beating my ass too often. Doesn’t make me look good with the women.”
Gemma shook her head. “You can’t make a relationship last more than a week. That’s why you have trouble with women. You should be like Declan and find someone who can put up with you.”
“But then I’d be depriving all the women of the world of my wonderful presence,” Jake replied as he swaggered away.
Gemma shook her head and laughed. “It will be hard, but somehow I think they would survive.”
The director was happy with the shoot and she could change into her next outfit. As she walked back to her dressing room, she shivered. Brandon had been off the set the past week or so and she had been so much more relaxed. In that second before she turned around, she guessed he was back.
She turned, and sure enough, he was following her down the corridor. Gemma walked into her changing room and went to shut the door when he put his hand up to stop her.
“I’m going to get changed and I want to be alone. Do you want me to call security?” Gemma tried to keep the fear out of her voice but could hear it crack a bit. Brandon scowled and wagged his finger at her.
“You won’t do that. You’re avoiding me, Gemma, and I don’t like it. Remember what I said. You spend time with me or what I know about your mother goes public.”
Gemma’s stomach turned over. She hadn’t made the trip to New York or even talked on the phone to her mother. She had convinced herself she didn’t need to because Brandon had backed off. The simple fact was she didn’t want the conversation. How do you have the chat with your mom about her cheating and your dad not being your dad? No wonder she couldn’t talk with anyone about this.
Bec walked past. Gemma didn’t know the new makeup artist that well. She’d only been working with them a month or so, but Gemma liked her and hoped she would go along with what she was going to say.
“Bec. Thanks so much for coming so quickly. I don’t know what I’ve done but my eyes are killing me and I smudged everything.”
Bec smiled. “That’s cool. Let’s get to it before you need to be back on set.”
“I’ll get back to you later, Br
andon.”
He took the hint and stormed off down the corridor.
Gemma shut the door and leaned back against the wall. Bec stood in front of her with a raised eyebrow. Gemma’s throat went dry as she considered what she would tell her.
“Before you say anything, and I hope it doesn’t get me fired, he gives me the creeps. There’s something seriously wrong with that dude.”
Gemma sat down and let out a big sigh. She was so tempted to tell Bec everything. It would be so good to get this off her chest, but she didn’t really know Bec and would not put her in such a position. In the past, she had been trusting and had been let down.
“I’m sorry to pull you into it. Brandon hopes for something between us that is not going to happen. As you can imagine, it’s a bit tricky with him being associate producer.”
“Look, I know we don’t know each other that well, but I have a cousin who is buff and rides a bike. He could scare him off for you.”
Gemma like the idea of Brandon quivering in his shoes as some big burley biker roughed him up, but she would deal with this. He was a pest and she needed to talk to her mom, sort it out, and tell him to get lost. Bec opened her makeup box while Gemma changed.
“I’m having a party at my place next weekend,” Bec said. “Why don’t you come over? It’s only a few friends and I promise I won’t call the paparazzi.”
Gemma nearly choked as she was more likely to do that. “I would like that.” Someone knocked on the door and Gemma jumped. The door opened and one of the crew said she had three minutes.
“You, okay?” Bec asked. “You nearly jumped a foot in the air.”
“Yep, I’ll be fine. I basically need to tell Brandon to get lost once and for all.”
Back on set, she absorbed herself in her work and forgot about Brandon. When she was done for the day, she sat in her room, looking at her cell phone. She had this urge to phone Mitch. Every day for the past two weeks she felt the same. Was there really any harm in them merely having dinner together? Yep. She was pretty certain it would end up with sex. At least she hoped it would. Then she wouldn’t have a clue what to do. She had enough craziness in her life, but she could not stop thinking about him. His gorgeous eyes and hot bod.
She walked out to the parking lot and pressed the button to unlock her car. As she reached for the door handle, someone grabbed her arm. Gemma shrieked. It was Brandon. He must have followed her out from the studio. Others were leaving as well and she hoped he wouldn’t want a scene.
“I told you I would give you my answer.” Gemma almost hissed the words at him. “I am talking to my family tonight, so back off or I’ll tell the Colin to call the police. Do you really want that kind of publicity?”
He let go of her arm, but he was shaking with anger.
“I’ve known Colin since we were at college together. We were in a fraternity together. I can assure you he will believe me over you. I’ve been patient, but not for much longer.”
“I’m not interested, Brandon, so back off. If you keep threatening me, I’ll report you to the cops.” Gemma got into her car and turned on the ignition. She was trembling, but she wouldn’t let Brandon see it.
At home she grabbed a bottle of wine, filled a glass, and gulped down a large mouthful. Alcohol wasn’t the answer, but she needed it to calm her down right now. She knew it was crazy and she should be ringing New York and her mom, but there was only one person she wanted to talk to. She would text Mitch.
Chapter Nine
Two weeks had passed and his shoulder still ached a lot, but he could get by with a few painkillers. He did the exercises and figured no permanent harm had been done, at least to his body. He must have bumped his head when he fell because he’d lost the plot. He couldn’t get Gemma off his mind.
He thought she might have called or at least sent a text, but there was nothing. Mitch wished he hadn’t said it was up to her if she wanted to make contact. He tried to keep his mind occupied, but it didn’t work. She kept creeping into his thoughts like a drug he wanted to try again. A drug he would be happy to get addicted to.
He knew the fact they had gotten together at all had been too good to be true. He had never been a knight-in-shining- material, but she made him want to be chivalrous. The bottom line would be her manager must have warned her off when she picked Gemma up. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t keep dreaming about her. Each morning, he would wake up with a dick so hard it hurt. She had spoiled him for anyone else. He didn’t want a one-night stand—he wanted her body time and time again. Instead, he was taking a lot of cool showers and jerking off. He would have stronger muscles in his left arm at this rate.
He needed to work. His informant had given him a tip on a certain movie star. The guy, Brent Saunders, was supposedly cheating on his wife. Mitch had stayed outside the studio where he knew the guy was filming all day. At long last, he was rewarded. Brent came out, jumped in his car, and headed off. Mitch knew where Brent lived and the guy wasn’t heading home.
Mitch followed along, two cars behind, hanging back a little so the guy wouldn’t even know he was there. Brent drove out of the city to a small resort up by Lake Town. Mitch didn’t think the guy was going to stop. Then Brent pulled into the far side of the resort’s parking lot. Mitch parked under some trees and watched as Brent made his way to a room. Whoever was in there had already checked in with reception. The door opened and a woman came out. Mitch had a shot. Bingo.
Mitch knew her. She was an up and coming actress and had done a few bit parts on TV shows. The woman couldn’t wait to grab Brent before he got in the door. She threw her arms around his neck and jumped so her legs circled his hips. This was not the sort of hug one would give his sister. Mitch kept snapping his camera as the door shut.
He stayed in the car for two hours until Brent left. Ten minutes later, the woman came out. Mitch had his photos and would go home. This was going to make him money. It was sad to think a marriage was going down the drain, but it happened often in Hollywood. Brent should have kept his dick in his pants. This didn’t look like this was the first time these two had met either. Brent’s marriage was probably on the rocks, anyway.
His wife was a big agent and would make him pay through the nose. At least they didn’t have any kids. If they split, it would simply be divvying everything up. The young woman would probably be fine and people would remember her name after this came out. Every time Mitch did this, he felt dirty, but he needed the money and being moralistic right now would not pay the bills.
Mitch would make a contact with some media outlets as soon as he got home. As he pulled in the driveway, his cell phone pinged. It was a text from Gemma.
He couldn’t stop the smile coming to his face. He had all but given up hope.
I was wondering if I could see you.
These were the words he wanted to see. Yep. When and where?
My place as soon as you can make it.
Gemma sent him the address. He imagined her manager wouldn’t know, though. Hell, if it was only one night, he would make it worth it. He would make it so good she would have to call him back for more.
The garage will be open so you can leave your car inside.
You still want me to cook?
No, I just want to talk.
The fact she wanted his car off the street was not lost on him. If one of her neighbors or someone else took his number and knew he was there, it could mess things up for her. He would do it, but had to admit it irked him a little. He was a pap, though, and knew he would be checking her out if she had been someone else. He needed to push that thought to the back of his mind. She needed him and that was why she had texted him.
Mitch got a feeling in his gut something wasn’t right. He wanted her to need him to come over so they could have a night of great sex. Somehow he considered that was not what was going on here. For now, he would play it by ear as he really wanted to be there for her any way he could.
Her house was at the end of a street and small
er than most of the others. It was one story and a modern design. Even though it was small, it made the place he and his sister shared look tiny. It was getting dark. For her sake, he was glad as the neighbors might not notice him arriving. He didn’t want to cause her any more problems than she already had in her life.
Mitch rang the bell. Gemma answered the door and smiled at him. His heart beat that little bit faster. She was wearing tight jeans and a pink blouse that dipped at the front to show off her cleavage. She might be small, but she had great tits. He should concentrate. She asked him here to talk.
Hell, he’d missed her. Seeing her now, he wanted to scoop her up in his arms and kiss her senseless. Then he remembered his occupation and how he had taken photos earlier of movie stars standing by a front door kissing. He walked in and let her close the door. When he turned back to her, she moved toward him, placing her arms around his waist and holding on tight. She trembled as he held her. He didn’t say anything and neither did she. He smoothed down her hair with one hand while he held her close around the waist with the other.
“It’s okay. I’m here.”
She sighed and eventually moved away and put her arms protectively around herself.
“I’m sorry. I just got myself into a state and I needed someone I could trust and who wouldn’t judge me.” She bit her thumbnail and her eyes watered.
He wanted to hug her and say it would all be fine, but he didn’t know what was going on here. “I’m not saying I won’t judge, but I’m here to help and listen. You can talk when you’re ready. Have you eaten?”
“No, I had a glass of wine to calm me down but it went straight to my head.”
“Put the kettle on the stove and I’ll check your fridge and see what I can make.” He followed her through the open-lounge dining room to the kitchen. There was modern furniture and a state-of-the-art kitchen. It didn’t look like it had been used much, but the cupboard and fridge were well stocked.
