“Oh fuck, baby!” Kai broke from her breasts, his voice nothing but a sigh as she felt him shudder beneath her. She rode him hard with one, two, three, four more thrusts of her hips before she burst over the edge after him, calling out “Ohhhhhhhh!” as her head dropped back, her own body shifting and shuddering with the strength of her orgasm.
Breathing hard, her head still back, Nora felt Kai’s hands pulling her down to him. Folding at the hips, it didn’t shock her to feel the heat of his skin or the rapid pace of his heart as she lay her head on his chest, all of him still inside her. Breathing together, drinking in this moment, Kai’s hand came to move her hair to the side before resting across her shoulders, his other hand meeting it to create an intimate embrace.
Wanting to stretch out beside him, Nora slowly sat up, gently lifting herself up and off of him before nestling down beside him. He kissed her forehead and she smiled, rising onto an elbow to look at him.
“You’re beautiful. You know that, right?” She whispered, smiling at him.
Kai grinned. “I pale in comparison, baby,” he replied, his gentle kiss a testament to his words. Pulling back, he sighed, smiling. “But I gotta tell you - that was… incredible. You are incredible in all the ways, but especially at that.”
Nora laughed, shaking her head. “You’re not so bad yourself,” she said, kissing his cheek, her hand running lightly over his rock hard abs.
Shifting his body onto its side, he turned to face her, propping head on hand, his smile fading, his eyes serious even in the darkness, his other hand trailing down the side of her face to cradle her jaw, his thumb absently brushing across her cheek as he spoke.
“Nora - I just want you to know that you’re everything to me. We’ve already been through so much together, and maybe that would scare other people - but it doesn’t scare me.”
Nora waited, feeling his fingers leaving her face to tangle with her own, wondering what he was going to say next.
“You know I’m in love with you,” he continued, his voice low but steady. “And you know I have literally dreamed of being with you like this. But there is one other reason that I finally came back to you.”
A sexy grin floating over his lips, Kai reached overtop of her, kissing her deeply while sliding his hand underneath the pillow behind Nora’s head. She could feel him feeling around for something before finally retracting this hand and bringing it, fist closed, out from underneath the pillow.
“I knew coming back here was a risk; that we needed to hash a lot of things out,” he said, his eyes flickering between hers and her lips. “These last few weeks have been unreal for me, and I think for you, too. But the thing is, I didn’t come back here just to ask you to be with me for now.”
Dipping his hand, Kai caught something in his fingers. Even in the deep darkness of the bedroom, Nora could see the sparkle of what he was holding.
“I came back to ask you to be with me forever.”
Utterly shocked, Nora felt her mouth drop open as her eyes searched Kai’s. Finally, she looked down at the ring he was holding, tears welling in her eyes.
“I’ve been thinking of this moment for years,” Kai said. “But I realize this is all new to you. So, you don’t have to answer me now. I just want you to know how much you mean to me and how much being with you means to me, because… that’s what happens when you love someone.”
“When you love someone,” Nora whispered, still staring down at the ring. Her thoughts were reeling inside her mind, but at the centre was one constant, something that had been in her mind and in her heart from the moment he’d spoken her name in the coffee shop.
He’d come back to her. He’d come back for her.
She wasn’t alone, and she never had been.
And she never would be again.
A slow smile spread across her lips as she looked up into Kai’s face. “When you love someone… like I love you... like we love each other, even after everything we’ve been through…”
Nora moved her left hand up to his, spreading her fingers so he could slide the ring onto her ring finger.
“When you love someone like that, you say yes. And then you never let them go. Never again.”
THE END.
