“Are you okay?” he asked.
I blinked, trying to focus on the present. “I am.”
“Do you want to give it a try?” he teased.
“Do you want me to win you a teddy bear?”
“I would cherish it always.”
Just like I cherished the first teddy bear he’d given me. I was too embarrassed to tell him I still had it. Looking into his eyes, I realized I wanted him. There was so much good stuff that happened between us that I didn’t want to dwell on the one bad thing. He made a mistake. He was back in my life and I needed to decide if I wanted to embrace the happiness he was offering now or hold on to the pain from ten years ago.
“I need to get something from my office,” I blurted out.
He looked confused. “Okay. Right now?”
I nodded. “Yes. Right now.”
I didn’t know what I was doing. No, I knew what I was doing. I just didn’t want to think about it. I wanted to live in the moment. “Okay.”
“I need you to come with me,” I said when it didn’t look like he intended on doing so.
He was staring at me with an odd look. “Okay.”
I practically ran from the room. He walked beside me. I opened the door to the building and was halfway down the hall when I decided what I needed was in his office. His private office. It would be too easy for Parker to find me in our shared office space.
“Here,” I said and stopped in front of his office door.
“You need something from my office?”
“Yes,” I said, sounding a little desperate.
He quickly unlocked the door and pushed it open. Thankfully, the blinds were closed on the windows that overlooked the courtyard. I walked inside with him behind me. I closed the door and turned the lock before looking at him.
“Harper, is everything okay?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure? You look flustered.”
I grabbed the front of his jacket and yanked him against me, my mouth slamming against his. The man was not an idiot and quickly figured out what I needed so desperately. His body pushed mine against the door while his hands moved between us and unzipped my coat. It was a flurry of movement as we struggled to get out of our winter clothing.
When I was down to my light camisole and panties, he paused, taking a moment to look me in the eyes. He cupped my cheek before giving me another kiss that sent heat pooling between my legs. I had never wanted him so badly. I couldn’t explain what came over me, but I was desperate to have him. I ground my hips against his, begging for what I craved.
“Shh,” he whispered.
I didn’t realize I was making so much noise. I was caught up in the moment. “I need you.”
“I’m here,” he answered.
“Chase, don’t make me beg,” I growled.
He smiled against my lips. “While I think I might like that, I have no intention of doing so—this time.”
I reached for his cock, wrapping my hand around it and squeezing. I tugged, showing him the way to my entrance. He finally got my drift and pushed my panties down before stepping out of his briefs. His hand slid up my leg, his fingers deftly parting my folds, and one slid inside.
“Yes,” I groaned, my head pressing against the door.
“Like that?” he asked, fingering me until I was on the edge.
“Yes, more,” I demanded.
He pushed a second finger inside. “More?”
I moaned, my head rolling back and forth against the door. “Yes. Please.”
In a flash, his fingers were gone, and he was lifting me. My legs opened, straddling his hips as he pinned me against the door with his dick. I held on to his shoulders and rotated my hips. He filled me completely. I could feel the orgasm coming. It had been hours of foreplay with him and my body was ready to concede to the demands of my lust.
“That’s it,” he whispered when I began to come. “More, baby, more.”
I cried out, releasing over him until my head fell forward, resting on his shoulder. He kissed my neck before slowly lowering me to my feet. A soft moan escaped my lips as he nuzzled my neck. Our naked bodies rubbed against each other. The crinkly hairs on his chest brushed over my pert nipples.
“We could have gone to my room,” he whispered next to my ear before slowly turning me around. “We could be in my bed right now.”
“I couldn’t wait,” I told him, being completely honest.
A soft chuckle washed over me. “I like to hear that.”
“Stop it and give me more.”
He suddenly got serious. His hand reached down, grabbing a handful of my ass before he pushed me against the wall once again. “So demanding.”
“Chase, I’m not done.”
“Baby, I haven’t even started.”
I shuddered, knowing there was more to come and I was going to love every second of it. He pushed my legs open, jerked my hips back, and plunged inside me with one hard thrust. I cried out. I expected him to go slow. It was a sharp invasion that sent my juices flowing.
“More?” he hissed.
I whimpered, my hands pressed against the wall. “More.”
He thrust again, my head hitting the wall. “Hold on. You want more? I’m going to give it to you.”
He pounded against me, our bodies slapping together with the glorious sound of skin against skin. He gave me no mercy. His body rocked against me. I used my hands to push back, taking him deeper inside. I prayed no one was on the other side of the door. There was no denying what was happening on our side of it.
I slapped my hand against the door as the pleasure spiraled inside me. Release was within reach, but I couldn’t get there. I was desperate to get there. I became frantic in my quest to orgasm. My nails scratched at the polished veneer of the door.
I cried out his name in an effort to express my want and need, along with my frustration.
“Woman, if I fuck you any harder, I’m going to put you through that door,” he panted.
I whimpered, moaning as the orgasm stayed just out of reach. He yanked himself out of me and pulled me back. I was in a daze, blindly letting him lead me across the room. I heard a clatter, but before I could see what happened, he dropped me on his desk. He was between my legs and plunging inside me again in a flash.
I sighed at the feeling of being filled by him again. His mouth covered mine, his tongue sliding inside, mimicking his dick sliding in and out of me. It was the change in position needed. I could feel the orgasm coming on strong. My hands slid into his hair before sliding down his back, my nails scoring long lines down the corded muscle.
He hissed, pulling his mouth from mine as his back arched. He liked the nails. I knew he liked my nails on his back. I did it again, not enough to draw blood but enough to leave a mark.
“God dammit,” he groaned. “You know I love when you do that.”
“This?” I teased, running my nails down to his ass and squeezing.
He jerked, his body arching again. “Yes.”
“Don’t stop,” I ordered when he took everything down a notch.
“Slow down,” he whispered, gently kissing my lips.
“Chase, don’t stop.”
“I won’t stop but I’m going to keep you on the edge.”
I groaned low in my throat as he pulled out, keeping just the tip of his cock inside me before ever so slowly pushing back in. That intense need was there but I no longer wanted the release. I wanted to savor the moment.
Chapter 47
Chase
“Just like that,” I breathed. “Squeeze me.”
Her tight pussy was clamping down on my cock, squeezing and massaging me until I was certain I had died and gone to heaven at some point in the last twenty minutes. I kissed her again, pulling out until I was just barely inside her tight sheath.
“Oh shit,” she breathed.
“That’s it,” I coaxed. “Relax.”
I pushed inside slowly, mustering every bit of self-control I had. S
he was slick with need, making my entrance inside her smooth as silk. I pulled out again, pausing with my forehead resting against hers. We were both breathing heavily. There were little fireworks going off inside my groin, my stomach, and head. My orgasm was fighting hard for release. I was fighting hard to hold it back. I didn’t want it to end. It felt impossibly good inside her.
“So good,” she moaned, her head resting against mine.
“So good,” I repeated.
I didn’t think I could hold out another second. I wasn’t about to finish until I made certain she got that second orgasm. I slid my hand between us and rubbed my finger over the spot I knew made her crazy as I pushed myself all the way inside her. She shouted, exploding around me. It took less than a second for my body to respond.
She was clamping down hard on my cock, squeezing me tightly as her body milked mine. I was barely able to stay standing with my jerking hips that were moving under their own volition. I felt the breath leave my lungs in one loud whoosh. Her arms wrapped around my waist, holding me against her while supporting me at the same time.
The spasms rocked through me, hitting her and bouncing back to hit me again. It was like that for a full minute after the big finish. I didn’t dare move. I wasn’t sure I could move. My legs were barely holding me upright. I wasn’t expecting to get laid, but I was ever so glad I did.
When I had control of my breathing and the blood returned to my brain, I slowly stepped back. She looked up and smiled. It was a sweet smile. Not the usual smile. I knew immediately we turned the corner. She wasn’t looking at me like I was a good fuck. She was looking at me like she wanted me for me, not the sex.
“Have dinner with me tonight,” I gushed.
“Okay.”
I was surprised she agreed so quickly. “I’ll have the chef prepare us a meal and we’ll eat at the table in the back.”
“You don’t want to be seen with me in the restaurant?” she teased.
“I want you all to myself.”
“Sounds good. We should probably get back out there.”
“Do we have to? I kind of like being between your legs.”
She giggled and hopped off the desk. I watched her walk to the door in all her naked glory and start to dress. “Yes, we have to. Maybe if you’re good, I’ll let you steal a goodnight kiss after our dinner.”
“I’m going to steal a lot more than that. Don’t bother wearing panties.”
She looked at me with one brow raised. “Someone is feeling confident.”
“Baby, I felt you squeezing my dick inside you. I’m feeling very confident.”
She looked away but not before I saw the flushed cheeks. “You’re bad.”
“That’s not what you were saying five minutes ago.”
She laughed as she pulled on her jeans still damp from our time in the snow. “My god, you get laid and you turn into a horny teenager.”
“You bring it out in me.”
We finished dressing and went back to the fair. When things were winding down, I escorted her to her room to shower and get ready for our date. I quickly did the same. I had a few things I wanted to take care of before our dinner. After checking in with the chef to make sure our private dinner was arranged, I went back to my office, which I was beginning to think of as my sex den.
I sat down at my desk and turned on my computer.
“Hey,” I heard Nick’s voice.
Just the man I wanted to see. “What brings you by?”
“I wanted to thank you for letting this all happen here. I know you have plenty going on already. I appreciate it.”
I leaned back in my chair. “Do you want to tell me why this fair was sponsored by your family’s charity?” I asked. “I wasn’t aware we were co-sponsoring it.”
“Harper and Cori didn’t tell you?”
“No, I’m afraid they didn’t. I wasn’t aware of your heavy involvement until I saw the cards with our names as co-sponsors of the event.”
He shrugged. “It was your event really.”
I agreed with him, considering I’d footed the bill and offered up my hotel. “Then why was your name splashed all over? I don’t want to sound greedy, but I wasn’t aware you were a part of it. I would think there would have been some meeting between the co-sponsors to hammer out the details.”
“Cori didn’t tell you?” he said again.
“No, she didn’t tell me anything. What am I missing?”
“I was a part of another charity event, but it got canceled at the last minute. I needed to do something with the money earmarked for charity before the end of the year.”
I was missing something. “You needed to do something, or your family’s company needed to?”
“Me,” he answered right away. “This was me. Not my father.”
“But your father’s brand?”
“Yes and no. I’ve been doing most of the charity stuff for a while. He doesn’t get involved with it anymore.”
There was more to the story. I could feel it. He didn’t want to tell me something, and clearly, Cori was a part of that. “I see. I didn’t give much attention to this project. I trusted Harper and Cori to handle it. I guess I wasn’t aware we were co-sponsoring the event. I would think that was something I would have been told.”
“I’m sure they mentioned it,” he said. “While you were the bulk of this operation, I did contribute, and it was my idea to have something special. It was my idea to find a way to give back to the community here. No, that’s not true. It was Cori. Rather, Harper.”
I was really confused. “What are you talking about? It was Cori’s idea?”
He looked pained. “Partially.”
“Partially?”
“The idea was really Harper’s, according to Cori.”
“But you don’t know? You didn’t talk to Harper directly?”
“No, Cori did.”
I threw my hands up. He was purposely being coy, and it was pissing me off. “Why is Cori involved in any of this?”
He shrugged, playing it off. “We were talking one day, and I told her I wanted to give back. I was moved by the holiday spirit. I guess she wanted to be a part of something like that and recruited Harper to help.”
“You and Cori were talking?” I asked.
“Yes.”
“What’s going between the two of you?”
“Me and Cori?” he asked. It was a classic move to buy time to come up with a good answer. He knew damn well who I was talking about.
“Yes, you and Cori.”
“We’re friends.”
“Since when?”
“Since forever,” he answered nonchalantly.
I studied his face, looking for signs of lying. They were definitely there. I didn’t have to look too hard. “She just decided to offer you my hotel for you to host a charity event that you didn’t really host?”
“Hey, I helped with a lot of the planning and I worked my ass off in there today.”
“I believe it, but why? What’s the connection between you and Cori? One day, she tells me she hates you, and the next, she tells me she kissed you and never wanted to see you again. Now, the two of you are collaborating?”
“She was helping me out.”
“Why are you two spending so much time together?”
“You are reading way too much into this,” he countered.
I didn’t think I was. “Nick, you’re my friend and I know you very well. We’ve been friends for a while and I feel like I have a pretty good idea about who you are when it comes to women. Your reputation as a heartbreaker isn’t a lie. I need you to understand she is my sister and I will always be loyal to her.”
“As expected, but I think you might have my reputation confused with your own.”
“No, I don’t. You haven’t had a serious girlfriend in a long time.”
He shrugged. “No, I haven’t. What’s the point?”
“You have been spending a lot of time with Cori. You gave her a fucking cat.
What’s that about?”
He smiled, unbothered by my tone or my accusations. “It’s about me liking your sister. We get along well. I already explained the cat thing. She loves that thing. Quit trying to be the overprotective big brother. In case you haven’t noticed, your little sister isn’t a little girl anymore. She is capable of taking care of herself.”
“If there is something going on, I want you to have the decency to tell me to my face. Don’t let me find out through someone else.”
“Relax. There is nothing going on. We are good friends. She was helping me out with something. It’s nothing more than that.”
“And you would tell me if you two were seeing each other?”
“Yes.”
I didn’t think I believed him. “If your family was involved with the charity, how come I didn’t see your father here?”
“He rarely comes to these things.”
That was true. “I see.”
“I’m going to get back out there and help with the cleanup. After all, I am a co-sponsor.”
“So I hear.”
“What are you all dressed up for?” he asked as he got to his feet. “Got a hot date?”
“I am having dinner with someone.”
“Harper?” he asked it with a grin. “Cori’s friend, right?”
It was a dig. “It’s not even the same,” I shot back.
He winked. “Of course not. Have a nice dinner and tell Harper thanks for me. The event was a huge success.”
He left my office, leaving me with my thoughts. I didn’t like it. I tried to be okay with it, and I knew I had no right to condemn or criticize, but I didn’t like it. It wasn’t just Nick I didn’t trust with Cori. I loved my sister, but she was not an easy woman. She’d been through more men than I could count.
They came and went out of her life with such frequency, I didn’t bother getting to know them anymore. Cori was a passionate woman, and when she thought she liked something, she gave it her all. The problem was she often grew bored with whatever that something was and tossed it to the side.
I didn’t want Nick to be tossed and I didn’t want her to be shattered when he told her he had no intention of marrying her. It was not going to end well. I knew that and wished they could see it. They were heading for a cliff, and if I didn’t stop them, they were going over.
