“How is Teagan?” Nautical asked.
Jude sighed, “No change at the moment, but I’m running some tests. The doctors said there was no reason for him to be in a coma to begin with, so I’m thinking it has to do with his elemental ability. His specialty is water, but I’m thinking that he might have something else.”
“Something else? What else?” Gio asked.
“I’m not sure, but I’ll let you know if I find anything.” Jude promised.
Smoky landed next to Jude, “Sorry I’m late. I was making sure Chloe was settled.”
“Is she alright?” Gio asked.
“Sad, scared, and unsure, but otherwise she’s fine.” Smoky replied.
Letting out a deep breath, Gio whispered, “I wish she didn’t have to be under house arrest. She needs her garden. It keeps her centered.”
Cobra hugged Gio close, whispering, “She’ll be fine, love. We can take her to an open area and allow her to create one. We just need to make sure someone is with her until we know we can trust her.”
“I understand and thank you for doing even that much.” Gio quietly replied.
“I love you and she is family.” Cobra replied, softly kissing his sentience’s lips.
“I just wish I knew where Kyle and my other brothers went. I can’t believe they left Sandra, Bixby, and Chloe behind like that.” Gio said, with a shake of his head.
“Things are not always what they seem, young one. The fates are an interesting bunch of ladies, and sewing the threads of life is not easy for anyone. Free will is one of the greatest gifts god has given us, but with free will comes paths not expected, bringing new journeys that might be more difficult, but eventually will lead them to where they are supposed to be.”
“Heck, what the hell?” Pit gasped.
Heck was a handsome man. Hell, he was more than handsome, he was absolutely beautiful… angelic… which he should be considering he was an angel. Long blond hair with golden eyes, but damn, he was tiny. He couldn’t be more than five foot two, and if he weighed more than one ten, Sparky would eat his dragon. “What’s going on, Heck. We haven’t seen you since you recruited us.”
Smiling, Heck replied, “And be glad for it, it means you’ve been doing a stupendous job, and trust me, the big guy is pleased with all your hard work.”
“Then, what are you doing here?” Pit asked.
“Well, the boss man called to me and gave me an order, and so here I am.” Heck said, explaining, but not.
“What kind of order?” Taj asked, sounding a bit apprehensive.
Heck laughed, “The godly kind of course.”
Snapping his fingers, the prone body of Kace lay in the middle of the circle along with Heck.
“What the hell? What are you doing to my brother?” Gio gasped.
“Hell has nothing to do with it.” Heck said, wiggling his brows, then flexed his arm whispering, “Rise, noble one. Stand tall and proud for you are a chosen one.”
The D.O.A. gasped, someone hissing out, “Holy shit!” another murmuring, “No fucking way!”
“What’s going on?” Bren asked Pit.
Sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose, Pit muttered, “Watch and see how D.O.A. began.”
Kace’s eyes opened and looked at Heck. Heck smiled, “There you are, young one. I am here with an offer.”
“An offer? I don’t understand.” Kace softly replied.
Stretching his arm and showing the circle of men around him, Heck said, “These are the men known as Dragons of Anarchy. They are defenders of mankind. They find, kill or bring in the worst of the worst… serialists of all kinds. I have been asked to have you join them.”
Shaking his head, Kace replied, “I can’t be. I’m dead.”
Smiling, Heck replied, “It is the way it is done. I will join you with a dragon known as a maharishi. Your souls will become one. You will live together, fight together, and be as one. If one dies so does the other, however, you will also love together. One day you will find your sentience. Shifters and other paranormals know them as mates.”
“I am not deserving of a mate.” Kace murmured.
“That is not for you or me to decide. That is for the fates to conclude. However, the god of the human and the dragon worlds have come to me. You risked your very life to warn the men and dragons they hold sacred, and then sacrificed that very life in order to save your brother, which in turn saved the life of his maharishi as well as his mate. Had they died, the men around here would have been devastated. It would have meant they would become distracted and that could have led to more deaths. This would mean the human world would have also suffered. I am asking you, will you join them in this fight against evil? Will you stand with these men and help them defeat those that no mere mortal can?” Heck asked.
Kace looked as if he wasn’t sure on what to do. Gio urged, “Kace, this is your chance. Your chance to make amends to yourself for all our father made you do. This is your chance to use your gifts to help others.”
“It’s also your chance to get to know your brother as well as your sister. We would be honored if you join in our fight.” Pit stated.
“I don’t know if I would know how I can help.” Kace stated, sounding as unsure as he looked.
“I am Rene. My friends call me Pit. I am leader here and I will make sure you learn what is needed but know this… my word is law around here. If that’s going to be a problem then answer Heck with a no. If you are willing to listen and learn, then answer Heck with yes.” Pit stated firmly.
Looking at Gio and then to Heck once more, Kace nodded, quietly saying, “I’ll do it.”
Raising his hands to the sky, Heck shouted, “He has agreed! Come to us!”
Everyone looked up as a large form got closer. “Oh wow! He’s magnificent!” Bren gasped.
Azul grunted and pushed against Bren pushing out his bottom lip.
Bren smiled, “You are far more handsome, Azul. You know you’re loved.”
“I love Smoky too, but damn you have to admit that maharishi is impressive.”
A large black dragon landed next to Heck. His wings spanned out wide, showing the red lightning-bolt-like streaks running throughout his wings. He had eight horns coming out of his head and his eyes were those of a snake. This maharishi was intimidating as hell… almost as intimidating as Sparky’s own dragon.
Heck held the large paw in one hand not seeming to fear the large black claws, and in his other he held Kace’s. “I call on the god of all dragons and the god of man. I ask you to bless this joining, make two become one. Soul to soul. Heart to heart. Let them be joined and never part.” Smirking, Heck said, “I love to rhyme stuff. Drives the big guys crazy.”
The moon became brighter and brighter until it was almost as bright as the sun. Kace stiffened as he arched his back, gripping Heck’s hand so hard it was surprising it didn’t break. His maharishi roared and then lifted from the ground, becoming smaller as it floated closer to Kace, then landed on the man’s chest. Its large wings spread wide and the roar still sounding throughout Drago.
Heck dropped Kace’s hand, then looked around to all the men and dragons standing there, “Let it be known that a new Dragon of Anarchy had been born. He will be strong. He will be what is needed in the hard times to come. Let it be known that he is now one of you.”
With those words, Heck disappeared, leaving everyone to wonder what hard times the man was talking about?

ABOUT CREE STORM
I was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky. I’m a military brat that travelled a bit overseas and throughout many parts of the United States. I finally settled in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I eventually got married and then divorced. I was blessed with two fantastic sons. As they grew up and became young men chasing their dreams, I felt that maybe now was the time for me to do the same. That’s when I started writing. Never in a million years did I expect to meet the most wonderful man in the world, move to Quebec, Canada, and get married. However, that is exactly what happened. JP has introduced me to things like; canoeing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and has taken me to some of the most beautiful locations. Ones that I had only ever seen on a computer or read about in books. I may miss my mountains and my boys, but have discovered that when you work towards your dreams, the future can be one filled with happiness and love. My boys are only a plane ride away, and Skype is a glorious thing. So I say, on to my next adventure…don’t be shocked to find it in one of my books.
