He shakes his head before reaching under the kitchen counter and pulling out a gun.
Well, I never knew that bitch was there this whole time. I make a mental note to ask about this later.
Flip walks down the hallway with his gun cocked and his back straight. He reaches for Aidan’s shoulder with kindness, making me fall in love with him all over again. I love when he shows how much he cares about Aidan.
“Hold on there, dude,” Flip says and pulls him behind. “We always ask who’s at the door before we answer it, remember?”
Aidan nods his head and I’m pulling down my tank top to cover my stomach. I don’t know who is at the door, but it can’t be good.
“Dylan Kingman?” The man on the other side of the door asks once it’s opened.
My fiancée nods his head, turning around to take a look back at Aidan. “Go stand with your mom,” he directs.
“No! I don’t wanna go.”
My nerves are a jumbled mess and they are not getting any better by Aidan not listening.
“What did I say?” Flip growls.
Quickly, I turn off the burners and walk into the living room to collect my son. “What’s this about?” I demand.
There are five officers wearing Kevlar and have their guns pointed at us.
“We’re here to search your house for any evidence,” the larger man states before pushing through the door.
“Hold up! What fucking evidence are you looking for?” Flip bites out with attitude. I know he’s pissed off but pissing them off even more isn’t going to help us.
I try to reach out and place my hand on his shoulder but he shrugs away from me.
“We can not comment on an ongoing investigation,” the female officer replies with a snotty tone of voice.
Now, I’m done being quiet. “You can’t just barge into someone’s home and not explain why you’re here. Let me see your search warrant,” I request.
The five officers and Flip both look at me as if I’m crazy- maybe I am. But I’ll be damned if I let these cops go through our house looking for evidence that we don’t have. This is a normal house with normal parents. This is fucking bull shit.
The larger officer walks over to me and hands me a warrant. I skim the front page of the warrant, only understanding about three different words. My name, Flip’s and search. The rest might as well been in Chinese.
That’s when I flipped over to the next page. There’s one word that sticks out to me and it’s glaring at me in the face.
Murder.
FLIP
One of the last things I expected was for the search to be today. I knew the fuckers were coming because Brit’s baby daddy is a little bitch and he will do anything to prove that we are unfit.
David is so desperate that he’s even gone to other MCs requesting protection and their services. Did he honestly think that they would have his back?
This fucker is a little bitch.
Before Brit and Aidan moved in, I got rid of anything that could be dangerous or incriminating, including all guns that aren’t registered to me. I placed everything in a shed that I have in the middle of the woods where no one knows. I’m not stupid, and I’m not getting rid of my fucking guns.
Brit’s shaking like a leaf but I have to figure out what the hell they are trying to pin on me.
I follow the officers as they go through room after room destroying my house. Papers fly through the air and so do clothes. It’s a constant water fall of it all.
Just like that, I see my house of cards that I have built for Brit and I going up in flames.
“Ahah!” A man screams from the other side of Aidan’s room. He’s holding up a large bag of cocaine with a triumphant smile on his face. “What are you doing with this, Mr. Kingman?”
“You know damn well that you planted that here!” I accuse. I’m so pissed off that they are doing this bull shit.
Slimy mother fucker can’t create a real case so he has to plant evidence in my house?
This fucker is going down.
“Let me guess,” one of the female officers ask with a smile. “You’re holding it for a friend?”
I shrug and try to keep my mouth shut which is really fucking hard. “You come into my house, destroy my son’s room and try to fuck up my life by planting drugs. Quit playing games with me!” I order.
Someone giggles behind me and I spin to see a little Hispanic woman standing there with a smile on her face. “See, it is you that is playing games. What are you doing with a bag of cocaine in a house with a minor?”
Suddenly, everything becomes crystal clear. “Oh, fuck no!” I roar. “You tell that pussy ass mother fucker that I’m going to fuck his world up!”
David had these cops plant drugs in my house to get them to believe that we are unfit parents. The guy has guts, I’ll give him that.
“Are you threatening a police officer?” The Hispanic woman asks.
I really try my best to not flip the fuck out, honestly, I try. They are trying my patience and I’m done. “Get out of my house,” I order.
“Mr. Kingman, you are under arrest,” the large officer states as he sidles up behind me.
I chance a look at Britney and Aidan who both have tears rolling down their cheeks. What the fuck is happening? I’ll tell you, David is pissed off that I didn’t take him up on his deal and now he’s trying to get me for whatever he can.
What bothers me the most is the fact that he’s punishing Britney and Aidan. They don’t deserve to deal with this bull shit that David is trying to pull.
The second that the cold metal clamps around my wrists, Britney is running towards me like she’s terrified. “What do I do?” She asks.
I nod my head at her. “You go to Lucifer’s Lair and you get The Bear and Slice. They will know what to do. Now kiss me,” I demand.
She kisses me hard but it’s too quick as the officers are yanking me out of my house. I take one look back at Aidan and he’s got tears rolling down his face. “Don’t worry, dude. I’ll see you soon. Take care of your mom. You’re the man now.”
“You’ve got a hot woman in there, man,” the huge cop says to me to get me all fired up. “Don’t worry, I’m sure she will be popular in your club again.”
My jaw clenches closed and I throw my head back so it hits the guy in the jaw. “Don’t talk about my woman, asshole.”
I’m stuffed into a car that is unmarked without the cage between the two rows of seats. Trusting little assholes, they are.
BRITNEY
I just know that David is behind this. I knew from the beginning that we haven’t seen the last of him and it was only a matter of time before he would strike. Too bad that it’s our son that suffers.
Quickly, I take a crying Aidan and grab my purse. The kid has gotten so big that I can barely lift him but I want to hold him close. I need to feel him to make sure that he’s still here.
“Where did Flip go, mommy?”
He’s asking me about fifty different questions right now and they are all questions that I can’t answer because I don’t want to talk shit about his dad. That was one thing that I never want to do, let him know how big of a piece of shit his dad is.
I try to ignore him and stuff him in the car so we can drive over to Lucifer’s Lair. I’m hoping that The Bear and Slice are going to be there because I have no idea what to do. Hell, the only part I understood is that my son’s father is a piece of shit.
I’m in a daze the whole way to the clubhouse and I’m happy that I know how to get here. I can’t help but think how all of this is my fault and I’m the reason why they are going after Flip like this.
I pull through the gates and am instantly met with the brothers that I have been ordered to find. I roll my window down and wave The Bear over to me. Aidan has finally calmed down enough for me to leave him in the car but I want to be able to see him at all times. I know it sounds stupid and I know that nothing will happen to him here, but after today, I don’t trust anything.
The Bear is running over to my car with his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. “What the fuck happened?” He growls when he’s standing in front of the door I just opened to get out of the car.
I walk a little farther away from my car so Aidan wouldn’t hear me talking to him. The second the words start falling out of my mouth, I burst into tears. “Theyarrestedhimandnowhe’sgone!” I slur.
The Bear places his hand on my shoulder and gives me a shake. “What the fuck are you talkin’ about?”
I take a deep breath to try and calm down but that doesn’t help me at all. I open my mouth again to tell him but I let out a sob.
Through the tears that are rolling from my eyes, I can see the frustration on his face. He’s getting irritated with me. “Calm the fuck down,” he says as calmly as he could muster with me being a hysterical mess.
“They,” I begin and take a breath, “arrested… Flip… at… his house.”
“Who?” Slice demands and runs over to where were standing.
Rabies is next and he’s got a look of death on his face but it’s the look of Mack Truck’s face that sets me off even more. I haven’t talked to him since all of that shit happened the night of the ambush. I don’t want to talk to him.
“David got five people to arrest Flip at our house.”
I tell them everything that happened and I make sure to not leave anything out. Once everything is out in the open, I draw in a much needed breath.
“We need to call the suit over here and we need to call the fuckin’ jail to see if he’s been processed,” Mack Truck advises.
The Bear rubs the back of his neck while looking around the courtyard. “I want everyone called and their asses over here. We’re about to go to war with the fuzz.”
MACK TRUCK
For a brief moment, I allow myself to relish the thought of having Britney and Aidan here. But only for that moment. After the moment is gone, I try to be a good brother and figure out how to find Flip.
Rabies is off in the corner talking to someone and The Bear has Pinky typing away on her computer. I will have to say, having a hacker in the residence has come in handy.
“He’s not in jail,” Rabies exclaims with a snarl on his face. “There was never an arrest warrant or anything according to the suit.”
“What the fuck?” I roar and begin to pace. Each pass I make, I look over at Britney who is trying to calm down. I can tell that she’s struggling big time right now and there’s nothing I can do.
Brit and Aidan are snuggled up on the couch and he’s passed out. I will give the kid props, when he’s tired, he can fall asleep anywhere.
“How are we gonna find him?” Rabies asks with a beer bottle going up to his lips. “I mean, he’s not in jail, where the hell would they have taken him?”
“Brit!” Pinky calls over to the exhausted woman. “Did you see any badges?”
Brit looks off to the side like she’s thinking about it and then she shakes her head. “No, I didn’t know I was supposed to ask…”
I want to go over there and tan her ass for not asking important questions. “Never let anyone in your house without proof of who they are. You’re not gonna last long in this life if you don’t.”
She mutters something under breath.
Pacing back to where Pinky is at the computer, I lean over her shoulder to take a look at what she’s doing. She’s hard at work and there’s a bunch of different boxes pulled up on her screen.
“There!” She yells and points at the screen. “This was the last place that his phone pinged off the tower. If they dumped it, we could follow the tire tracks or something.”
A pregnant Jen, waddles into the room and Slice is instantly up running over to her. “Kitten, you’re supposed to be sleepin’.”
She shrugs him off. “There’s something going on and I want to know what it is. You guys are screaming and I can’t sleep through that.”
“Flip got fake arrested,” Pinky informs her with air quotes. “He’s not in the jail and there wasn’t a warrant or anything.”
I’ve heard that pregnant chicks are fucking sensitive but I never knew that they were this sensitive. She starts crying. “What do you mean? He’s lost?”
“For fuck’s sake!” Pinky sputters out. “Jen, knock it off! He’s not lost. We got him. Joe, I sent you the coordinates to your phone so you can find him that way.”
The Bear leans over his woman and kisses her hard and loudly. “Thanks, baby. I’ll see you soon.”
“If you’re a ranking brother, you need to get your ass to the table. If you got your bottom rockers, get your asses to the table. If you’re a prospect, you’re guarding the women and kids!” Bic states with a snarl.
“I didn’t mean to do anything wrong,” Britney whispers over and over again from her spot on the couch.
“None of this is your fault,” I say to her with vehemence. I’m standing far enough away from her to not get her pissed off at me, but I still care about the chick.
That was until Kate came into the main room. “What the hell is going on?” She demands while buckling her jeans. “Can’t a girl take a shower in someone’s bathroom without everyone freaking the fuck out?”
All of us roll our eyes. We’re used to her.
We all walk to the table and it’s The Bear that is holding Pinky’s computer in his hand. He looks pissed as fuck.
We all drop to our respected seats and lean over the table ready for instructions.
“I’m gonna slice his mother fuckin’ throat,” Rabies exclaims with a sick smile on his face.
“Nah, man,” Half Ball replies. “We need to get in there and find everything we can to get those assholes wiped out.”
“How are we gonna do that?” I blurt. “We don’t know where he is and we don’t know what’s going on.”
Every one of them spin in their seats to look over at me with a glare. “Are you fuckin’ serious?” Bic roars at me. “You’re gonna let our brother suffer because you’ve got some hang ups?”
I push myself off my chair. “No! That has nothin’ to do with it. I love my brother as much as you fuckers do. I’m just sayin’ we need to make sure we have all our information before we barge in there.”
There’s a knock on the door and it’s two different heads: one with pink hair and the other blue hair peeping around the door. “Anyone know where Madison Street is?” Pinky asks with a smirk. “Let me give ya a hint, it’s about a mile from The Plague’s clubhouse. It’s their distribution center. Guess whose name is on the deed?”
My back goes rail straight. “That mother fucker. We gotta get out of here! David is fuckin’ with us.”
FLIP
The bag is ripped off my head just as the car stops. The constant ping of the rocks that have hit the car tell me that we’re somewhere off the grid.
Just fuckin’ great.
No one has said a word to me the whole time that we have been in the car. I’ve been stewing this whole time and when I get out of these fucking handcuffs, I’m killing everyone.
Slowly.
I might even bring in their ol’ ladies to watch.
Once the bag is thrown to the side of the car, I squint my eyes trying to get the vision back to them. After straining to see through the bag this whole time, my eyes are killing me.
Britney must be so fucking scared right now and there’s not a damn thing I could do about it.
I haven’t been gone that long and I have a feeling that I’m not going to some police station. Hence, the bag over my head like I’m about to be executed.
History was one of my favorite subjects in school when I would actually go. The public executions always kept my attention.
The past couple of months have been extremely fucked up in the club and now we’re going to war with the police department? I know that we’re going to land on top but we don’t need this shit.
Brit and I don’t need this shit.
“Get his ass in here,” a man dem
ands from a few feet away.
I squint my eyes and make out David’s smug fucking face. “For fuck’s sake,” I growl at him while the guys behind me drag me into the warehouse.
This warehouse has definitely seen better days and it’s about to see a massacre. I’m going to kill every single one of these assholes and I’m going to have a smile on my face while I do. Every single one of these mother fuckers are going to die a painful death.
I feel someone kick me from behind my knees causing me to buckle. I lurch forward and almost fall on them but the people behind me are dragging me now.
“You know what they say about wild dogs. You have to put them down,” David says cheerfully once I’m dropped into a chair.
The wooden chair has blood marks all over it but the part that freaks me out the most, is how many wooden chairs there are in here. Someone has been planning something along and we just walked right into it.
Or I should say, I did.
“I told you that if you didn’t stop seeing Britney, I was going to fuck up your world. You didn’t listen, did you?” David says with a sing-songy voice that sends shivers up my spine.
“And I told you that I wouldn’t do that. What kind of man turns his back on his family?” I jab at him. I know I’m asking for it, but they’ve got me handcuffed around a chair, what more can they do?
That was until I felt boiling water being poured onto my back. The burning sensation is too much for me and I wince. I try hard to not let them see me wincing, but it’s not as easy as it seems.
“I want to know everything. All of your runs, what’s your plans… Everything.”
“Why?” I blurt out.
A fist plows into the side of my face making me jerk back. Different lights shoot across my eyes and I try to come through.
Another punch lands on the other side of my cheek followed by someone’s chilling voice. “You will only speak when you give me answers.”
I blink through the bursts of light to see a couple of people wearing The Plague cuts. Mother fuckers. “This is an ambush, isn’t it? David, you couldn’t fight your own battles you had to go and stir shit up?”
The Plague must be working with David now, too. These guys are like rats. No matter how many times you bomb them out of a crawl space, another one pops through.
