I got a call from Shawn. I decided to take it outside of the room. He told me he was out of my house but no answer. I told him where I was, and he said he was on his way here. Ten minutes went by and he arrived. He pulled me into a hug. I needed this hug, I also ended up crying in his arms. "I'm here for you."
Twenty hours later
Nothing, everything was the same. We were losing hope. My baby sis was in pain and it broke me so much. Shawn never left, he said he would stay here with me. Though I told him to not miss classes cause of me, he didn't listen. He stayed here and said he would leave when Emma had her new heart. He went to his house to get changed. And he was questioned by none other than, Mrs King.
"Why are you hanging out with, Harmony?"
"Because she's a great person, and I enjoy talking to her." He replied. "Well, cut the strings with her, I don't need my son being friends with the help." She said with crossed arms.
"You don't boss me around, mother. You lost that right the day I turned eighteen. And I will keep talking to her."
"Well, guess we won't be paying for vet school anymore. And you can get out of this house and live on your own, since you're a grown up."
"Fine, do whatever you want, I'll search for a job and a place, anywhere is better than this mansion of hell." Those were the last words before he left his place.
I was watching a movie with Emma, Dad was working. I told him he shouldn't miss work. "I'm back and look what I brought." Shawn said while showing Emma, a Disney doll, it was her favorite, The Little Mermaid.
"I love it, thank you Shawn." She said while hugging the doll. "Thank you, you've been absolutely amazing towards us." I smiled.
"Welcome." He smiled back.
Five hours later
Dad came back and told us something that we weren't expecting. "They found a heart!"
"Really?" Tears of happiness started to fall. "Yes, you hear that little princess? You're getting a new heart." He said as Emma squealed.
"Are they compatible?" Shawn asked. "Yeah, the doctor said they will operate her now." Dad replied to him.
"Are you ready, munchkin?" I said while grabbing her hand. “Yes, I am, I'm a brave girl,” she smiled. The doctor came in and said, "Are we ready?" We all just nodded and then he took her. And now we wait.
Four hours went by and the doctor came out and told us that the operation was a success. He also told us that she needed to be in the hospital for three weeks. I was just so happy that my munchkin was gonna be with us for a while. Dad stayed with Emma. I went home to take a shower and change. Shawn took me home and waited for me. Once I was done I went to the living room and saw him deep in thought.
"Penny for your thoughts?" I said while sitting next to him. "With everything going on, I forgot to say that my dear mother threw me out of the house. She also told me that she was not paying for my vet school anymore."
"Why?"
"She found out I was hanging out with you, she hated the idea of us being friends. So she kicked me when I told her I didn't care what she thought. You're a real friend and I didn't want to stop talking to you."
"What are you gonna do now?".
"Well, I'm going to buy a house then and I'm going to keep studying. Mother forgot I have my savings account, I have enough to last me this life."
"Damn, that much?"
"Our grandparents deposit every birthday and Christmas a lot of money. I just never used it, I was saving it for something important. Like right now. And I'm also going to search for a job at a pet clinic. I want to gain experience for when I open my own." He smiled.
"I think that's great. I know you will be an excellent vet." I smiled back.
"Thanks. Now changing topics, someone still owes me a night out for some dancing." He said while raising an eyebrow. I just chuckled. “Oops, how about next month? With Emma in the hospital I don't feel like leaving her."
"Deal, in one month we're going out. But this time as a date." He said taking me by surprise.
"You want to have a date with me?"
"Yeah, is that hard to believe?" He said while grabbing my hand.
"A little,” I chuckled. “Well, believe it. In a month we're having a date, missy." He said causing me to laugh. "What about, cutie pie?" I asked.
"She's my best friend. She's into girls, she said you were hot. Which she's right about?" He said making me blush.
"No need to get jealous." He winked before getting up and headed to the front door. "Hey I was so not jealous!" I said while catching up to him. He's something else. But he knows how to make me laugh.
Chapter 9
Forgiveness
Two weeks went by, Emma was getting better. Shawn visited her everyday. We also got a big surprise.
"How is that possible? And who did it?" Dad said to the doctor. "What I missed?" I said to them.
"Someone paid for the operation." Dad said.
"Whoa, did they leave a name?" I asked, "Me." We turned to see Shawn.
"You didn't have to pay for-" he cut me again, I swear he enjoys doing that.
"I didn't, but I wanted to. The money you saved, you can use it for college and other stuff. Harmony, you deserve to have fun and study what you love. And now you can do it. Consider this a Christmas gift."
"Christmas is far." I chuckled as tears fell. "Shawn, what you did for us today is amazing. You have a big heart and life will reward you." I gave him a kiss on his cheek and then hugged him, he hugged back.
"Thank you so much for this amazing gift. You are a great young man." Dad said while putting his hand on Shawn's shoulder. "I'm happy to help." He smiled.
We went to say hi to Emma, but she was sleeping. I couldn't wait for her to be home. Donna has been coming everyday to see Emma. She stays with us till late. Emma ended up staying a month in the hospital. She was doing great. We took her home and as soon as we entered they yelled. Welcome home, Emma. The place was filled with toys everywhere. Oh Donna, she's too much.
"All this for me?" Emma said excited. "Easy there, little princess, take it easy,” Dad said to Emma. "sorry." She giggled.
"This is so cool, I have my own Toy land." She said while hugging the toys and stuffed animals. We just chuckled.
"Donna, you went to the extreme this time." I said while giving her a look. "It wasn't me this time." She said. "Shawn?" I said confused.
"Nope, not I,” he said.
"Sissy, there's a card here." Emma said while holding a card, she walked towards me and handed it over. I read it but there wasn't any name. "It says they will meet me at the bakery I work, stalker much?"
"Okay guys, let's put these toys in Emma's room." Donna said and everyone helped. I sat on the couch with Emma. "Hey munchkin, I'm so happy you're still with us." I said before kissing her cheek. “I do too, this means Disney next year. And I'm happy to be here with you and Daddy." She smiled. "me too." I smiled back.
"My beautiful princesses, I'm beyond happy to have you here with me." Dad said while sitting between us. We hugged him. Everyone stayed for dinner.
Days later
I was at work taking orders, then Someone entered the bakery. And it was none other than, Victoria King. "If you came for drama I'm not in the mood." I said with crossed arms. "who says I came here for drama." She retorted.
"Can we talk?"
"Why?" I said confused. "Five minutes,” she said while going over to the table and taking a seat. I sighed in defeat and sat across her.
"I'm sorry."
"What?"
"I'm sorry for how I treated you last year and these past months. You didn't deserved it. And I'm also sorry for the way I treated your sister."
"So you're the one who sent all those toys to Emma. Did you broke into our house?"
"What? No, I asked Shawn if he could do me the favor of putting them in your house. I didn't sign my name cause I figured you would burn the toys. That's why I waited till I talked to you." As much as I dislike her, I wouldn't burn the toys and make Emma cry. She was ext
remely happy and that's all it matters to me.
"If it's not too much to ask, can I see your sister. I want to apologize in person."
"Did someone knocked some sense into you?" I was so confused by her change of heart.
"My brother and you could've told mother about my secret, but you didn't. That made me realize how wrong I was about you. You're a great girl. You would be a great girlfriend for my brother." She smiled.
"One, it's very weird you being nice to me, and two, your brother only sees me as a friend."
"He told me he asked you on a date, friends don't ask on dates, so I'm pretty sure he likes you."
"I don't know, maybe it's a friendly date." I sighed. "You have it bad for my brother," she chuckled.
"Shut up." I shook my head, "My shift ends at seven. Or you can visit tomorrow." I said while getting up.
"I'll pick you up at seven, then we can go to your house." She said before leaving. This was beyond weird, her saying sorry and being nice. It was very and extremely weird. I hope she's not up to something cause I will have no trouble punching her again.
Hours went by and she came at seven. Once we arrived at my house I stopped her. "Don't make any comments about my house being different from yours, I won't tolerate that." I said before getting out. Once we got inside I said, "Family, I'm home." I went to the living room and Emma was playing with her new toys. The doll Shawn gave her, it's only used when she sleeps. She takes care of it so much.
"Sissy, will you play with me?" She said with the biggest smile."I will but first she has something to say to you."
"She's the meanie who threw her milkshake at me, then pinch me." She said while pouting as tears started to fall. I went to sit on the couch and put her on my lap. Victoria sat next to us and grabbed her little hand. "I'm sorry for what I did, when I went home that day, I felt really bad about it. You were in so much pain already and I was a big meanie to you. Will you find it in your heart to forgive me?" I saw tears coming from her eyes. Whoa, she was actually sorry.
"I have a new heart and I'm a nice girl. So I forgive you." Emma smiled causing Victoria to smile. "I'll give you a hug cause you look like you need it." She got off my lap and hugged Victoria, she hugged back. People can surprise you a lot, Victoria sure surprised me. I hope this change is forever. Cause her previous attitude wasn't going to take her anywhere. Except to a world filled with fake people and no love.
Chapter 10
Dance With Me
Dad came out of the kitchen as saw Victoria. He invited her to dinner. She was a little scared when she saw him. Dad is really tall and works out a lot. Plus he works in constructions, so he pretty much can send you with one punch to the hospital. Emma thanked Victoria for all the toys. After dinner I went to the porch with Victoria. Just like Shawn when he came the first time here, she didn't want to leave yet. She told me that she cut strings with Laura, said she was very toxic. She's not wrong there.
"You know, I like the home vibe your place has, it's very cozy and nice inside. I also missed the smell of your cooking. You're lucky, Everything you got going here is exactly what is missing in the house. Or the hell mansion as you call it." She said causing me to laugh.
"Yeah, I'm happy living here. I got my dad and my munchkin." I smiled.
"I'm thinking about coming out. I'm tired of hiding who I am. I want to walk on the park and hold hands with Trisha, Or walk on the beach. I don't want to keep her a secret anymore."
"Are you two very serious?" I said. "Very, we've been together for a year and a half. I even gave her a promise ring last month."
"Aww, that's amazing, I think you should do what Shawn did, use your savings account and buy a place of your own and live with her there."
"I will, maybe it will finally get through mother's head that I'm not interested in guys, she wanted me to marry her best friend's son. Ugh, he doesn't have the right tool." She retorted, I couldn't help but laugh. "Victoria, you're actually a nice and funny person to talk to. Why you decided to hide behind that mean act, is beyond me."
"It was like a shield, all my life I was used cause of my parents money. So I figured I'll be this cold hearted bitch who will not let anyone use her anymore. They learned to respect me and became afraid of me. But behind doors I was sad and lonely." She said somberly. "Do you think I can stay the night here?"
"Of course." I replied. We went inside and changed into pj's, then we went to the living room to watch movies. Lucky today was Friday.
The next morning
I woke up and went to do my daily routine. Once I was done, my phone beeped. It was a text from Shawn.
Shawn:
Can't wait for our date tonight. Dress casual.
Me:
I can't wait, what time are you picking me up?
Shawn:
Seven pm, see you later, beautiful.
I couldn't help but smile and blush at the same time. I was excited for this date. Minutes later Victoria woke up and got ready. She stayed for breakfast And then played dolls with, Emma. After a while she left, said she had to talk to Trisha.
Hours went by and I was getting ready for my date with Shawn.
"You look beautiful, sissy."
"Thank you, munchkin. Which one is better, teal or purple?" I said while showing her two headbands. "I like this one." She pointed at the teal one. "Thank you, you've been a great help." I kissed her cheek. "welcome sissy." She smiled.
Moments later Shawn arrived, he got off his car and came inside to say hi to Emma and dad. After that we said bye and he took us to our destination. We arrived at a beautiful house. Maybe it's a new restaurant. Once inside there was no table. Just a living room.
"Uhm, who lives here? I thought we were going to dance?" I asked a little confused.
"We are dancing here. And this is my new house. Figure we could have a date right here, just us and no one else."
"Are you embarrassed to be seen with me in public?" I said with teary eyes. "What? No Harmony, I figured for our first date we could be alone, something more private. Dance till dawn, talk about everything and nothing and no one to bother us. I'm sorry if I made it seem I was embarrassed." He said while wiping my tears.
"Sorry for assuming that you were. But you're right, I like this idea better." I smiled. "Good, cause food is also ready." He said while interlacing our fingers and took me to the kitchen.
"If I haven't said this already, you look beautiful." I blushed at his words. "Thank you."
He placed everything on the table and we went to sit down and started to eat. Everything was really good. Never thought I would be on a date with him. "The food was really amazing. You're the full package." I smiled.
"Thank you." He said while standing up and went over to where I was and extended his hand. "dance with me." I took it and he led us to a room. He turned the lights on and it was a mini living room. It had a flat screen TV on the wall, and under the TV there was a DVD, video games.
"Welcome to my play room, my favorite place in the house." He said while wrapping his arms around my waist. That sent shivers. "Do you want to see the house now, or after we dance?"
"After we dance." I answered. He let go of me and went to put some slow songs. He walked towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist, as mine wrapped around his neck.
"You're so beautiful." He said while pulling me closer to him. "You have a kind heart, you have this innocence that I find adorable. I wish we would've talked last year. But I'm glad we did this year. I started to like you as we talk more and more. It's so refreshing talking to you." He said while caressing my face.
“I agree, I'm really happy to be on this date with you." I said as he looked down to my lips. "I can't wait anymore." He said while leaning in and before I knew it, he captured my lips with his. It was a sweet yet passionate kiss. He slid his tongue in my mouth and started to play with mine. This felt so good. His lips were so plump and soft, they felt so good against mine. It turned out to be a great date.

Home Videos
After making out for a bit we pulled away to catch our breath as our foreheads rested against each other.
"That was breathtaking." He said. "Thank you for my first kiss." I said sheepishly.
"Welcome, you're one hell of a kisser." He said making me blush. "I've never been kissed the way you did," he said before placing a soft kiss on my lips. "I still can't believe that we kissed. It feels surreal." I caressed his face.
"Well, believe it, beautiful." He said while interlacing our fingers. "perfect fit." He smiled.
"Yeah it is." I smiled back. I laid my head on his chest as my arms wrapped around his waist. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt safe in his arms. We were moving slowly as the song played. After dancing, we went to sit on the couch.
"Can I ask you something?" I said.
"Yeah."
"What made you fall for Laura to the point it made you last a year?"
"Well, she acted nice, so I guess I fell for that stupid act. But as time went by, she finally showed me her true colors. She kept telling me that no one else would be with me."
"Why?" I asked very confused.
"Because I'm very cheesy, she prefers a guy who's rough and tough. Then it clicked, she was with me cause of my money. I wasted a year with her. When all this time the right girl was in front of me." He caressed my face.
"Well, I happen to like cheesy and this handsome guy next to me." I smiled while caressing his face. "Well, how about this." He said before capturing my lips with his. We made out for a bit. "Stay with me tonight?"
"I didn't bring clothes."
"You can sleep in one of my tee shirts that will look like a dress on you. And tomorrow after breakfast I'll take you to your house."
"Okay, let me call dad and tell him I'm spending night here." I said as he nodded.
