  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I’ve written some lengthy acknowledgements in my first three books, and while they were all very heartfelt, I feel that it’s time to make them a little shorter. After all, I still love all the same people.

But knowing me, it won’t be too much shorter.

I remain eternally grateful to my beta readers, who are now too numerous to name individually. Some are old friends and colleagues, some are writer friends I’ve met on this path, and some are readers who have become hooked on my series, and want to help shape the next book. All are brilliant, valuable and appreciated for their time and interest in my work.

A special shout out to Karan Eleni is in order. My new website looks fabulous, and I am always grateful for help with anything technical. Not my area of expertise!

I continue to be supported by my lovely writer friends, especially those at Chick Lit Chat HQ. Writing is a lonely business, and this extroverted chick needs PEOPLE to bounce ideas off of, share successes and frustrations, and to laugh with. Thanks and love to Whitney Dineen, Tracie Banister, Rich Amooi, Becky Monson and Geralyn Corcillo for being there in my many times of need.

My son, Nick Rissmeyer, is off to art and design school in Chicago, but remains my talented and innovative cover designer and artistic advisor. His love, honesty and humor have contributed much to my work, and I am extremely proud of him as he embarks on his next chapter.

One of my biggest supporters is my stepdaughter, Jaime, who eagerly awaits my next book, and cheers me on throughout the process. I am also very proud of her, and grateful for her place in my life.

My husband, Jim, is still listening to late night rants about advertising, blurbs, proofreading, and every other imaginable author problem. I can be quite demonstrative in my emotional expression, and he has loads of patience! This June will be our first anniversary and I am thankful every day that we found each other to love, in this wacky world we live in.

And finally, special hugs and kisses to my readers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a tough day in the writing trenches and one of you has sent me an e-mail, made a comment on a Facebook post, or left a review that pulled me up out of the hole and brought my fingers back to the keyboard.

  That is magical.

Oh, and I can’t forget Daisy. My little wiener dog girl brings me endless joy every day, and inspires all the sweet animal characters in my books.

As always, thanks for joining me, and the gang from Rom-Com on the Edge.

  Happy Reading!

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Carol Maloney Scott, author of the Rom-Com on the Edge series, is a frazzled new bride and wiener dog fanatic. She is a lover of donuts, and a hater of mornings. Recently unearthing a childhood passion for writing, she can once again be seen carrying around a notebook and staring into space. Her stories are witty, fresh and real, just like life.
