ONE NATION: A Post Apocalyptic, Dystopian Saga Page 24

by Michael W. Huard

The chancellor was now working with the sisterhood.

Tessa Zune was finally finished with the disrespect coming from the corporation after all she has done for them. They themselves were finally on the brink of collapsing and if the Godbot took over, she would be left in the wind. She already had been as of late.

She saw the sisterhood now as the only opportunity for her own salvation. This was her chance in what little life she had left to be something she could be proud of.

The civil unrest all about the country now was at an all-time high. The plan to use the self-proclaimed Godbot for the Corporation's gain had backfired. Everyone was losing their mind. Who knew what would come next?

Humans fought back against these lifestyle laws and were calling for Y-Wood to put an end to them.

Omagus had placed a tall red robot in charge of carrying out death sentences now. This hand of the Godbot was setting the land ablaze with fire and flame, due to his master’s sheer frustration about how things were going.

Tessa knew very well nukes were next!

It was said in history that the world would maybe collapse with fire and brimstone. She was starting to believe it.

Many people now thought that perhaps this was truly the end.

But not the women of the sisterhood. Its main members had their own jobs to do as they continued to hold onto hope that the two fractions now battling one another would end up obliterating each other. Tessa wanted in on this, and soon made contact with Jansa and the sisters.

She would act as their liaison now. And this was a key component for the Mystical Slayers to find success in all the mayhem.

Omagus had brought in all his ships now and they were hovering around the Empire State Building. It was like a scene from a long ago science fiction movie. The red and black ships had formed somewhat of a horseshoe effect above the massive building’s skyline. If Y-Wood was not going to assist him in enforcing his lifestyle laws, he would show them the power he now contained over.

It was good to hear that so much attention was now being put on the two new rivals. It was a big surprise as well for the Godbot to see that the Cooperation had secretly been creating robots for decades, hidden in various places in the country. They were now being called on to become the troops in this fight, and their numbers were surpassing those of his own army.

In the meantime, the black robot, BSR1, was doing all he could to try and have a one-on-one confrontation with the Godbot.

He and Galax, along with Aliah, had tracked his whereabouts down and precisely knew the ship he resided in.

These three powerful Corporation tools acting in unison on route to try and put it to this overzealous robot could be the turning point in all the future of the land.

President Purcell was eagerly waiting to see how things would unfold here. He made a bold move allowing his top agents to do a hit on Omagus.

  CHAPTER TWO

Jansa, Chaya, Sinaye, Tyne Gem, and the remaining sisters continued to work, day in and day out, trying to remove the robotic bugs from their leader Raegan’s head.

The new the fractions being at war amongst each other had been a blessing to the sisterhood.

But time was still of the essence.

It was on this very day that news reached them that a big fight may go down in New York with Y-Wood and the Godbot. They, finally, were getting the things fully out of Reagan's brain. It was a big moment for all.

It was then that Resin, who had joined the women, now told them that laying low until the issues of those two in New York resolved was probably the best bet in the grand scope of things. “If I had to guess,” he explained, “there may not be left much left of either of the factions if it goes that way. It could be a great opportunity for us to start new. It could be a brave new beginning for all of us.”

The others in the room agreed.

Many members of the sisterhood now headed northeast. All were told to stay unknown but still go about scoping out a location where the whole group could begin a fresh start again.

It was soon along the Northeast tip of the United States of America that one state drew them to consider. Maine was a place that maybe, just maybe, the Mystical Slayers could take as their home.

“So, we're under siege again,” President Purcell announced to those gathered in the war room within the Empire State Building.

Galax, the super tall blue and silver aerodynamic robot, stood next to his master, arms crossed nodding that it was so. He and the other powerhouse tools of Y-Wood had been asked back and to not just yet make any attack on the Godbot Omagus.

BSR1 was quick to make note of the current situation, seemingly upset that he could not make his assault. “We have them outnumbered now. We have summoned every single robot that the Corporation has been building from all corners of this country. We should be able to destroy his aerial army in no less than 48 hours. Let us hit him, like planned, and he will give up. I just know it.”

“The question is, how do you plan to take him down?” the president asked.

Aliah, a high-tech weapon of the corporation, raised her hand up as if to draw attention. “If you can get me next to him, I think I'll be able to defeat him. We all feel he cannot deal with the three of us all at once, sir.”

BSR1 then added, “He’s too focused on attacking us. He will be weak in his own ships’ station. I know where he is. Just say the word and we will finish him.”

Galax then made a point. “It will not be as easy as you two surmise. First off, he is surrounded by many powerful robots, which includes his number one bodyguard whom they call now ‘Old Horny’. He is a highly advanced specimen with large, pointed, metal ears. He is a worthy adversary himself.”

BSR1 looked to Purcell. “Fear will never bring us ultimate victory!”

Galax that announced, “For now, sir, I have put up a protective barrier all around the building, and this force field will prevent the ships up there from firing into the State Building for the time being. Its preventive force will only last so long, however, sir.”

“Good,” the president replied. “That's the first good thing I've heard today. We’ll have enough troops guarding the entrances and enough flyers out there shooting and harassing Omagus if he does attack us at least. This is kind of fun!”

“We still need to hit the Godbot hard. We can get to him and take him down,” BSR1 continued to point out, seeing that Purcell had somewhat started to like this whole situation that had come about.

President Purcell thought everything over more.

“I'm going to send at least two of you to do the hit, if not all three of you. I will let you know when the time is right.”

Galax was surprised that his master would send him away from guarding him personally. When it was first spoken about a few days prior, he highly doubted he would be on such a mission.

He was about to say something, but it was then, within his technologically advanced system, that he got a message. It was a private communication that he had only given to one person ever other than President Purcell. A young boy that the corporation had taken into their fold years ago. A boy named Johan.

  The message simply read,

I need to talk to you. This is not how you told me you would envision the world would become. I will be in New York soon and send you another message, about where we’re to meet. I hope that you, my old friend, will join me.

Galax was more than a bit surprised to hear from the boy. It truly had been several years now. He was probably all grown up, for that matter. Johan was the child of the sisterhood's leader, Raegan James, and he had been taken by the corporation as a prisoner, yet had also been taught many skills while within their folds.

He had miraculously lived through the battle of the great bridge in California. Something out of the sky had grabbed him and pulled him away from the explosions and warfare all around him. Galax had always wondered what the thing was that took the child away into the sky.

  He would like to
speak to the boy. That he definitely now realized.

President Purcell noticed Galax off in proverbial space.

“Hello, are you with us Galax? Snap out of it, will you!”

The robot shook his thoughts way and looked to his friend.

“I prefer that I stay watch over you, sir. I feel that the two of them can accomplish taking Omagus out. But I prefer not to leave you alone unguarded.”

“Fair enough,” President Purcell announced. “Galax will remain with me. BSR1, you and Aliah and a squad of Ruthies prepare to board the ship of the Godbot.”

Omagus had become frustrated with the lack of results toward what he had envisioned as a world for robots. His orders to burn those places that were not following his new laws were given impulsively.

The entire United States of America would be put on fire, he had proclaimed.

As his ships circled the State Building now, he studied the building, looking down at what defied him.

“We've got them right where we want them now. They double-crossed us, acting as if my plan of a new nation with robots with a golden one. We agreed on all of it. But then they reached out to the pleas of humans, saying that it was us that caused the mayhem and that the Corporation NEVER AGREED. Purcell now claims that Y-wood are the only ones that can only save America now. HIS TRICKERY WILL BE HIS END!

“WHO ARE THEY KIDDING?” he said loudly, spinning about to face a bright red robot near him.

Old Horny listened closely to Omagus.

“Humans will not defeat us. Once we remove their president and his creations, my plans will proceed forward without interruption.

“I have said this before, and I will never go back on my word. The age of the robot has begun. Let us finish this now. If the people will not follow us, we will enslave them all. We will lower the population until those left see that I am the true God they have always thought existed. First we will give the head of the Y-Wood Corporation president.”

  CHAPTER THREE

Victory had now finally joined up with Mahira. The fiery gladiator had a black beret on, which was new to Victory. She at first sight had something to say about it. “Nice hat.”

“Thanks,” said Mahira. “It was a gift from Sin and Tyne. Are you ready, kid?” she then asked Victory.

The young blonde nodded that she was. “If there’s anything in my life I am ready to do, and give everything I have to, it’s to mess with the Corporation and their freak robots.”

Mahira put her hand on Victory’s shoulder. “I am sorry, I really am. We face death like its normal these days. But it never will be normal. Your loss is hard, I know that.” Mahira then explained their mission. “We've been chosen to put out the fires that the Godbot has been setting all over.”

“What exactly does that mean?” Victory then asked her sister.

Mahira grinned. “Well, any bots out and about causing them, it’s our job to kick their asses! We’re about to show the general public that the sisterhood is still out there, and we care.”

Victory nodded. “It's the least we can do to help these people.”

Mahira then went about explaining Tyne’s and Stacee’s general plan. It was one that emphasized the fire triangle, also known as the combustion triangle. It was a simple model for understanding the necessary ingredients for most fires. The triangle illustrated the three elements a fire needs to ignite: heat, fuel, and an oxidizing agent (usually oxygen). Those helping them were going to make it hard to set any more fires, while the ladies went about taking out the robots still out in the flames that were trying to light up more areas.

Back in their hideout, one that no one knew the location of, Jansa slowly went about removing all the remaining bandages now from Raegan’s head.

She smiled at Sinaye and Tyne, seeing clearly that the healing process was now beginning to take form, and it looked like everything was going to turn out good.

Raegan had drifted off but now as she opened her own eyes, she looked to her sister and said “Where is everyone?”

Jansa placed her hand into Raegan’s.

“Well, most of us are here, secluded on the coast of Maine, while others are busy working the tactics of the sisterhood at this very moment.”

Raegan tried to smile. She then asked, “Can you take me outside? I can smell the salt from the ocean water. Please take me out onto the porch. I need to be one with Mother Nature.”

All the women inside near their leader looked at one another. Each was happy she was so coherent.

Jansa then told her, “Well, I think you can take yourself outside. No longer do you have anything wrong. You're healing up really well. All your attackers have been removed. Let me help you up. Come on.”

The two of them then made their way to the porch and sat down outside. They were staying in some sort of ocean chalet, on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Raegan looked around before saying, “What a beautiful place. I still marvel at the earth every time I take the time to see how beautiful it truly is. Here we are, living on this round rock in the sky. It’s no accident, and it just takes my breath away. The Lord is with us even still, my sisters.”

Tyne and Sinaye were so happy Reagan was speaking in good tones. Jansa and now Chaya were as well, both placing their hands on her shoulders.

Jansa and the others looked about themselves. The view of the ocean below was tranquil indeed.

She then said, “Oh I agree, my good friend. I have always been one with the mother myself. I’ve always found that I'm most comfortable out in greenery, or overlooking the water.”

Chaya then added, “I love the sound of the roaring ocean, as its waves go in and out. If I ever settled down, I think this is what I would enjoy. I mean, a place like this.”

Raegan looked at all those on the porch with her.

“Well, you'll are going to have to fill me in on what's going on. What have I missed?” She then reached for her head. “Ouch, it still throbs.”

“You need to slow down,” Tyne Gem then instructed. “We just got the last of those bastard robot flies out of your brain. Go easy, woman. You need time.”

  Raegan nodded that she understood.

Jansa then explained all. “The Corporation super bots are at war. The thinker of the two has taken the form of, shall I say, God-like stature. He claims robots will now govern. He bickers with Purcell and his black killer bot, BSR1. Word has it they could fight one another sooner than not.”

Raegan smiled. “It’s going to be okay. I think God will watch over us. He really will.”

Jansa then asked, “And what about your angel?”

The others on the porch wondered just what she was talking about.

“Oh, he's not my angel anymore,” Raegan calmly said. She then asked to be helped back inside. It was time to see if her visions could offer guidance for the tough times to come.

While she rested, the other women talked more about what was to come.

Jansa made sure to point out that running was becoming too hard on everyone. The others agreed. A long discussion came about, and when it was over, she made one final point.

“Whatever happens with the Corporation factions, I really think it’s time for us to find a place to live, and make it our final locale. As I said before, the time for running about all over this country is getting old. I want all of you to think hard about where this place needs to be.

When Raegan woke up, she seemed refreshed.

Jansa, Chaya, Tyne, and Sinaye joined her in the living room area. They were in Maine, somewhere in a place called Georgetown. The area was by the water and near a one-time landmark known as Reid State Park.

Raegan asked everyone to listen to her closely now.

“While I've never seen God, I have been told that he does exist. I have him in me. It’s like my higher self, a calling to me to be moral and to believe in the good in mankind. I think the angels watch out for us, acting as servants more to the feeling of belief within me.

“God is not necessarily some man who sitting up in the sky. The whole concept is more like something that you feel deep within your own soul. We have a body, we have a mind, and everything is connected to our soul. It’s the thoughts in the soul that make us alive. I mean, it’s kind of like our own little dream.”

The other women all were sort of lost in her words.

She then added, “God can exist in all of us, if we just let him, or her, or it, or this feeling in, as a higher you. Whatever you want to call it.”

Jansa then said, “I have always believed in something more than myself. But it's always been fussy in my mind. I think it's interesting to at least talk about it now that we know that angels are among us. It makes it all the more interesting, now doesn't it?”

The others knew little about angels, but it had traveled through the sisterhood now that their leader had been touched by one.

That leader had more to say.

“I have seen the Heavenly Realms, where these angels watch over this magical belief that there is a higher power. God is real. Yes, he is.”

  CHAPTER FOUR

It was time to get Karma back on the team. The area around the tall man’s warehouse and the State Building was a war zone. The sky had so many ships moving about, it was hard for anyone to concentrate on anything else.

Sun had met up with Johan privately. The two had done such before.

Together they went over the plan in a secluded are in the seacoast city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They rendezvoused in Prescott Park.

“You tell anyone why we’re meeting or where you were going?” Sun asked her friend.

  Johan shook his head no.

“Good.” She added, “New York’s a mess. We go in, get her, and get out fast. Are you with me?”

  Johan nodded that he was.

Sun, however, seemed puzzled. He was not saying anything and seemed somewhat reserved.
