The Magic of the Magdalene Key Page 10

by Patricia Iris Kerins

Sebastian was distraught. How the hell was he going to fix this? What would he say to VM? He slammed his fist into a wall gathering stares from a few tourists as they walked past. He was pacing up and down when one of VM’s men came up and asked him if he was OK.

“You OK, sir? VM would like just a further quick chat before you go”. The heavy turned and put an arm through Sebastian’s and propelled him back into the Vatican and down into the bowels of it.

He opened VM’s door, and without ceremony, deposited Sebastian on the floor with a shove. Sebastian was outraged and shouting profanities at the guys back when he turned to look at VM, who was quietly seething.

Through gritted teeth VM said, “I hear that we are just a tad late with closing the stable door Sebastian. The horse has well and truly bolted, and you are responsible. Bodies for pharmaceutical tests, I believe was the scam used. You didn’t bother to check. You didn’t bother to vet them in any way whatsoever”!

He walked to the front of his desk, he perched on it and with head bowed he said, “We will all pay the price, and none more so than you and your father”. He leaned over pressed a button on the desk and the thug came in, grabbed a stunned Sebastian De Montfort and escorted him down a stairway even further into the depths of the building. When they arrived at the bottom of a spiral stairway, there was a passageway with cells directly in front and he was thrown into one, the locks and bolts well and truly thrown into place.

Sebastian didn’t bother to shout. There was no point. He knew that his number was up. He sat down on the pallet in the room and started to review all that had gone down and how he could perhaps have done it all differently. The heavy went back upstairs to report to VM for further instructions. He checked his handgun on the way up the stairs just to make sure he was ready for anything.

He wasn’t ready for the arm that shot out and got him right across his throat. He doubled over, lost his balance and fell on the ground. Meantime, two hooded and dark clothed guys pounced on their prey and tied him up, gagged him with tape across the mouth and got him out of the place sharpish. He was bundled into a black car at the back of the Vatican and driven away at high speed.

One of the thugs entered back into VM’s room. “Did Evo dispose of him appropriately?”

“Si, bene, Monsignor”, the thug slowly slurred and then he nodded from behind dark glasses.

“That will be all, I haven’t seen you before are you with Alfredo”? VM enquired.

“Si, Monsignor, I am Enrico, I started a few months ago. This is my first time on protection duty for you personally”.

VM was satisfied and bent his head to his papers, waiving the protector away.

Enrico went outside and took off his glasses. Adam/Enrico could barely see what was going on in the dark with them on. He was sure his ruse had worked. Amelia’s brother had got him through Vatican security and it was now up to him to suss out the scene and find the vault.

They had moved swiftly. Elijah had instructed all actions had to be brought forward, as time was of the essence. Their elaborate preparation had to go by the wayside as this gang were gathering all their informants in key areas such as the police forces all over the world and governments, to put a stop to their plans. No more time for nice meetings. Adam knew that he really was in this situation not just to protect Marianna but also to take co-lead and responsibility on every other level so that they could get this all under control and get to the vault.

It was like a movie. He had watched the Da Vinci Code and had laughed at the antics, thinking how far-fetched it all was and yet here he was, this time for real, and he was having to use all the training in Aikido that he knew and the firearms training he had received in the Marines. Thank God he had learned all that. He had a gun, which he fervently hoped he would not have to use.

He was looking around now. He took a roughly drawn map out of his pocket to see where he was going next, towards the vault and the truth, the Magdalene Key.

  Chapter 22

  Early morning sweetness

Adam and Marianna had had a leisurely start to the day. After making delicious love, they called room service and ordered a light breakfast. Croissants and coffee were delivered soon after, and a note addressed to Adam was alongside the roses adorning the tray. Adam ate his breakfast first then opened the envelope, eyeing it with wariness, wondering what the heck this could be.

When he read the contents, he took a deep breath and smiled, as he didn’t want to alarm Marianna in any way. However, it was clear that he would need to leave fairly sharply and have a meeting with Elijah about the malevolent group who were gathering their forces.

He got up, bent over and kissed, a still drowsy Marianna on the nose. He then showered and got dressed in his dark jeans and polo neck. Marianna laughed, “If I didn’t know better, I would say you were in the Mafioso”. She smiled over at him. He took a mock shot at her from an invisible gun, and then sitting on the edge of the bed, he said, “I am going out for a while. May be away for the morning, will you be OK?”

“Don’t I get told where you are going, or have you really joined the KKK or something”? She threw a napkin at him. Although she was being playful, he could sense the anxiety beneath the jesting.

“I am summoned to a meeting with Elijah and there may be work to do - and not your kind of work, so let me do this. I will get back soonest and we will have lunch. You can rest and get some ‘you’ time. There will be plenty for you to do when we have the Key, then you can bring all your gifts and talents to bear as you put the word out. In the meantime, we mere mortals have other things to do that will make that happen. OK”?

“OK, I am not entirely sure you are telling me the whole truth, but I’ll let you off. Phone me if you get held up. If I don’t hear by 2.00 p.m. then I will phone you OK? I just need to know that you are all right”.

“That’s fine, my love,” Adam rose and bent over her to give her a kiss. She tried to pull him back down, but he was having none of it as his male goal orientation system had been activated. He grabbed his jacket and put his gun in the back of his trouser band. He was off.

He went down in the lift very quickly. All 6ft 6” of Elijah was un-missable standing in the foyer beside the reception area. He smiled at Adam and together they left the hotel. They sat down at a small café nearby. Elijah didn’t mess about. He updated Adam about VM and what had been going on. He updated him on all the intel that Patrick and Wilma had gathered, and the raid that would take place that day. He shared the facts that he had at his fingertips with Adam, and gave him instructions as to how to enter the Vatican and who he could rely on to pass him through security etc. If he could get inside and remain after it closed then, as many that could, would join with further instructions to open the vault.

Adam told Elijah that Marianna would be awaiting his call. Elijah agreed to make the call for him. There was now a tremendous urgency about the whole thing, Adam thought. ‘People think that they have months in which to receive and digest the contents of the Magdalene Key. But that isn’t the case. We must get this information to the public as soon as is possible. If not, then it could mean the end of human existence and the termination of the Earth. We need to move quickly. We have no choice.’

Adam realised the gravity of the situation and promised Elijah he would do his utmost to retrieve the Magdalene Key and get it to Marianna ASAP.

  Chapter 23

  Stealth

Adam was gradually getting his bearing. He shone the torch on his map and could see a distinct clear path taking him to the vault. The question was, would Benito be in place? He was the one who knew how to open this massive safe. Footsteps invaded his thoughts and held them in suspense for a moment. He could feel his heart thudding loudly. He could hear it, and he hoped nobody else could.

Pulling himself back against the wall, he tried to merge with the dank sullen stone. There were two priests in a b
ig hurry running along the pathway. He ducked in to a curtained area hiding from them. He managed that at the absolute last minute. They passed. They were clearly looking for something or someone. They were more like bodyguards than priests, and the bulge of their guns in their shoulder straps was clearly visible.

He had already had to deal severely with one thug on his way to the vault.

Adam let out a long slow breath, relaxing as he began to move along the path once again. Looking from side to side and glancing over his shoulder, he made his way until he came to the vault room. As he went inside, he saw Benito awaiting him in the darkness, tools in a large portmanteau at his side.

He whispered to Adam to keep watch as he completed the job. It seemed to be taking forever. If footsteps were heard, they retreated behind a large cabinet that was bedecked with silver objet d’art to the side of the room.

Adam and Benito were sweating as they wondered how long their luck would last. How long would they or could they remain undiscovered and indeed how would they get out undiscovered. Adam dragged his mind back to the present as Benito swung the great door of the vault open, and they could walk into the inner sanctum.

They were amazed. It was like a honeycomb, with lots of little pigeonholes with doors, filled with many things. Each one had its own lock and some had writing encrypted on the front to inform the reader of the contents. They moved to the very rear of the vault as they had been told that artefacts, scrolls etc. and books from 2000 years ago were kept at the very back.

They made their way forward, oblivious of any danger gathering outside as a red light flashed on VM’s desk indicating that someone was in his vault unauthorised. He, at the present time, was in another part of the building making his way back slowly. Unknowingly, Adam and Benito were only minutes away from discovery.

Adam and Benito were desperately looking through the different places in the vault. They knew roughly where. They decided on a locked drawer, which looked as if it had not been disturbed for some time. It had a hand carved M on the outside of the small wooden dookit.

Benito, skilled as he was in opening locks, took no time at all to open the wooden container. Therein lay a beautiful small book with a heart embossed on the exterior. There was also a white feather, a pressed white rose, a silken red scarf and a piece of crystal completed the set.

Adam put the three most important pieces that he could see into a velvet pouch that he had with him, then he put the pouch back in the box and gave the box to Enrico. He would remove the pouch when they got away and discard the rest later on. If this was it, and he himself did not know for sure that it was. However, he assumed it must be the Key to the Magdalene, and the secret that had been held for centuries. His gut affirmed this to be the case. Now they must make haste.

  Chapter 24

  VM

VM swung into his office, having just had words with the guards looking after Sebastian De Montfort in the cells below. His instruction had been swift, to rid themselves of this irksome flea as soon as possible, and at night fall. Whatever happened, the day to day running of this visitor centre and the papal legacy must not be disturbed or attract any adverse publicity in any way. They were briefed in how to take care of this and report back to him on the instant of the job being completed.

VM knew he must report to his boss all that had taken place immediately. He turned to his desk and immediately saw the red light flashing. How could he have missed that? He shouted for his aide and they ran out of his office along the corridors that had once held so much power, towards the vaulted room. He was shouting for his guards at the same time, speaking into his cell phone, as he summoned more assistance and calling the police as well. They needed to be involved, as this would be billed as an enormous burglary to gather sympathies worldwide. The perpetrators would be apprehended and put away for a long time. He would keep all of this above board.

They arrived, gasping for air into the vaulted room. It was empty. There was no one there, and the small box marked M was gone. All was gone. VM went ballistic, shouting at one and all, bellowing orders to close down the entire building, getting rid of staff and tourists. All must be shut down until the thieves were apprehended.

The thieves, Adam and Benito, were now hiding in one of the vaulted galleries beneath the upper floor. They had heard the commotions, the shouting and the orders. They stood still behind velvet drapes that covered an old and worn painting of some erstwhile Pope, who had no doubt basked in the glory of adulation from the many for a long time. All was now quiet except for their breath, in and out. They quietly settled.

Adam knew that they were too late to escape by conventional front door means, so they would need to settle down and get ready to leave at night as per the original plan. They needed to get to the service lift after dark, and their friends would be there to assist them escape with the Magdalene Key and the words for humanity. Adam was praying they made it. There were no guarantees, and they were outnumbered and out gunned. They seemed to have called in the secret service personnel as well. So it was going to be fun and games to escape at all.

Adam smiled inwardly. With the team he had with him, both in the physical and non- physical, he knew he would win out. However, it would be a close thing. The Light always prevailed, and so it would be. This occasion would not be different.

With that faith and trust in his heart and mind, he settled down with Benito. They had now found a place to hide. That meant they could see all around them and yet remain undetected. They were under an altar that had beautiful relief leaves carved out of it, making it perfect to see out and yet not be seen. They settled down to maintain vigil until nighttime.

They could hear in the distance men running about and searching. It was far away in the distance from them. They would be safe as long as they didn’t bring dogs into search the area. That would not be good.

  Chapter 25

  Psychic or what?

Marianna smiled to herself as Adam left the hotel room in a flurry. She was often amused that although Adam knew her well, he often forgot that she had supreme psychic abilities, and although he thought he had pulled the wool over her eyes about where he was going, and how much danger may well be about, she knew with an intensity what was going on. She also knew that her place was not in the throes of the fray but rather waiting to receive the Magdalene Key.

She was musing and meditating on this. She felt that this next piece of their puzzle may in fact not be the key itself. She was ‘getting’ that it was in fact another clue. Another piece of the plan that would take them to yet another destination, where the real gem, the key or code, or whatever it was called, would be. It would not be the obvious. She wondered at the fact that the Vatican with all their staff, students and priests had never taken the time to investigate all of this information themselves. Such was their indifference to anything to do with the Divine Feminine and the Magdalene, they had simply ignored it.

Marianna closed her eyes once again, remotely viewing, to see what was going on within the Vatican, and she knew that Adam and his co- conspirator were waiting, still and silent. She felt they were safe, she knew there was nothing to worry about, as Elijah would keep them safe as ever. However, she was also aware of a ‘darkness’ and a heavy toxicity nearby. She could almost hear it breathing.

She heard a knock at the door. She got up and opened it expecting the bellboy to clear away the breakfast dishes. There was no one there. She stepped out into the hallway and a hand came over her face. She could smell the chloroform as it filled her nose and then darkness. Here was the toxicity and darkness she had been so aware of. Too late, she fell into the man’s arms.

Marianna was dragged along the floor, through the fire escape doors and onto the upper landing of the fire escape stairs. A couple of guys were waiting there. Dressed as if they were waiters, they bundled her into a dirty linen trolley. They wheeled it back out onto her landing and along to the servi
ce lift. They took the lift down to the basement and then, taking her outside, put her into the white van parked at the back door. Tape had been placed over her mouth, so even if she came around, she would not be able to alert anyone to her plight.

Marianna was being taken to a warehouse that belonged to Sebastian De Montfort. For, although he was languishing in a Vatican cell, he was determined to redeem himself in the eyes of VM and get these irksome novices out of his world and quickly. He had instructed his staff to take action.

Marianna would be dealt with but not until they had resolved the break in at the Vatican, because word had travelled quickly that the unspeakable had happened. The Magdalene Key had been removed from the Vatican’s special vault, no doubt by her friends and she now seemed to have quite a few.

Archangel Michael, most high, knew exactly what had happened to Marianna. However, at the moment, could not intervene, governed as he was by the old cherry and caveat.

Angels cannot step in to take action in anyone’s life unless specifically invited to do so. He was awaiting Marianna’s return to conscious awareness knowing that she would ask immediately. He awaited her bidding anxiously!

  Chapter 26

  Captivated

She lay on the floor on an old mattress that stunk of urine, blood and sweat. Filth was all around her. The smells drifted up her nostrils as she became aware of her surroundings gradually. Her hands were tied behind her, her mouth gagged by the odious tape and her head hurt. Marianna was not used to any chemicals. She was highly sensitive to them and her head was thumping at the aftermath of the chloroform. She looked around, trying to get some sense of where she was and what was happening. She was alone. She couldn’t hear any voices. Then the door opened. She closed her eyes, pretending to be still under the influence of the chloroform.
