The first three of these stories, 'Murder on the Zenith Express', 'Single Handed', and 'The Fall Guy', are also contained in my collection Rare Unsigned Copy: Tales of Rocketry, Ineptitude, and Giant Mutant Vegetables; the novella 'The Hunt for Red Leicester' and the novelette 'A Night to Remember' are new to this volume.
About the Author
Simon Petrie is a writer of speculative fiction (SF, fantasy, and occasionally horror), with over one hundred short stories published since 2006. His stories have featured in Year's Bests and have been shortlisted for awards; in 2010, he was awarded Best New Talent in the Sir Julius Vogel Awards (NZ's annual speculative fiction awards), and in 2013 his deep-space murder mystery novella 'Flight 404' won a Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Novella / Novelette. The three elements central to his writing style are scientific detail, humour, and the Oxford comma.
