Hans Schuder, long presumed dead by Andrew Keane and other human survivors of past battles against the Horde, is alive—but enslaved and taunted by his captors. A member of the Horde from a planet with 20th century technology has come through the Tunnel of Light and is determined to wipe out humanity on this strange world. An escape by Hans and other captives is planned, but the plot is uncovered and wild new strategies must be devised.
